When we contacted American Home Shield on a Sunday afternoon we heard AC Wizard would be giving us a call to schedule a central AC repair. Within 15 minutes of AC Wizard opening on Monday morning we received a call to schedule same day! Josh came out that afternoon and was very honest about the work that needed to be done and was upfront about costs that would or wouldn't be covered by the warranty. He took the time to really educate us about the system, what the problem was, and how not getting the problem fixed properly could effect us in the future. We couldn't recommend this company more and honestly don't understand all the negative reviews. And yes this is a real person and I was not paid for this review lol. I submitted my AHS warranty request at 7:15p on Sunday. Ac Wizard responded almost immediately and told me a tech would be out between 10a--2p the next day. Josh showed up around 11a Monday and correctly diagnosed my heater problem as a faulty igniter. He had a new one on the truck, swapped it out and got me back in service within 30 minutes of his arrival. Fast, professional and friendly. Well done, Wiz.

AC Wizard worked on my unit 3 times through my home owners warranty. Each repair lasted a week. The last repair was compressor change out. The unit lost refrigerant in less than a month. I asked Valerie in the office if they did a leak test after the compressor was replaced and she said they do not do leak test after a replacement. Hard to understand how you can charge so much $$ for refrigerant then not even check to make sure the refrigerant holds in the system. The other odd thing was they did all the work in 1 hour after telling me it would take 4-6 hours. They were out earlier in the week and add a hard start kit to the compressor before replacing. The hard start kit install took longer than the compressor install. I tried to see if they would come out and do a leak test but they said it would $100 more dollars just to go and if there was a leak (even if the leak was from the compressor install) I would still have to pay for the refrigerant. This is a band aid AC service company and they seem to not do their due diligence. A leak test would have solved this but as Valerie said "We don't do leak test after we install a compressor and add refrigerant." I received 2 other bids outside of AC wizard. Both other bids stated "leak test" on the line item of the compressor replacement. Went with AC Wizard due to the discount from the Home Owner Warranty. Should have just paid the extra money since we have a unit that needs several $$ of refrigerant now. AC Wizard - do a leak test after you open a system to replace a part, It is industry standard to do so.

In response to Jimmy below, I had another company look at the unit today. The leak was located at the copper line your installer put in place. Clearly there was not a pressure test done. Which explains why your tech was in and out in 1 hour. You guys dropped the ball on the install. Your office person said you don’t do pressure tests and your work shows that as well.

Great company, very professional, easy scheduling and prompt response. Josh came to my house, diagnose and fix my AC. He was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained what he was doing and told me in details what was the issue. I highly recommend this company. Will use them again in the future.

Terrible service. The people they sent to install a new system didn't set it up properly causing water damage to my house.

I had to use this company only through a home warranty company. Absolutely no feedback today is 13 days with no callback. I have called the office repeatedly, I have text the owner several times , My home warranty company has called them with absolutely no response. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life

Submitted a request via America Home Shield on a Friday, and they called me same-day to set up a meeting the following day.

During the technician visit, they quickly diagnosed the issue and resolved it. He explained everything in detail and made sure everything was working after the fix. I'd replaced the capacitor previously, but turns out I needed to additionally hit a reset button on the compressor!

Very likely would reach out to AC Wizard for their magical service.

As a former Pentagon Appointed Official to American Embassies, Defense Attache - my standards are very high. Today, AC Wizard sent Jonathan to assess our unit. I was deeply impressed with Jonathan's integrity and dignity! Without reservation, I commend Jonathan for carrying the highest degree of professionalism. We are so grateful. Due to the downpour of enormous rain he will reschedule to replace fan motor in dry weather! I stake my own reputation in endorsing both Jonathon and AC Wizard. Absolutely impeccable!

Had an issue with my furnace. Requested service via AHS on Sunday. Order was dispatched to AC Wizard. Received a call on Sunday to schedule service appointment on Monday morning. Josh stopped by, did various tests to isolate the issue and then did the repair. Very professional and easy to work with. Great job Josh.

This place is a total scam. Do not use them.
They tried to rip me off when I was desperate and my house was 95 inside because my ac stopped blowing cold air . Shame on the tech that flat out lied to my face and shame on the owners for trying to take advantage of people in a time of need. Thank God I got a 2nd opinion. AC wizard quote $2k for a bad coil and 10lbs of Freon. 2nd opinion, no need for Freon, coil in good condition and a simple part that was covered under manufacturer warranty which ended up costing me nothing.

The worse experience ever.

I am a real customer of AC Wizard, and this is my ongoing experience nearly three years later.

Back in August 2022, my previous HVAC unit started leaking. AC Wizard was sent by my American Home Shield warranty. The first technician (Greg) said he unclogged the drain and switched it to the secondary line, which left the water dripping down through the shower head. Within an hour, water was leaking again. A second tech said the drain pan was rusted out and recommended a full HVAC replacement.

On 8/11/22, AC Wizard installed a new HVAC system. Within two hours of the install, the A/C shut off completely. Another tech told me this was because a TXV part was never installed with the new unit. Days later, the part was added, but the unit still only cooled to 76 degrees before shutting off. The owner, Jimmy, came to my home but could not resolve the issue. He told me I would need a plumber because of a clog behind the wall.

Since then, I have called and emailed AC Wizard countless times with no response. I eventually contacted the City of Dallas and learned that no permit had been pulled for this job. After I emailed AC Wizard about the missing permit, they canceled my appointment. Shortly after, I was notified that the city inspector issued a red tag for the installation.

What makes this even worse is that I had just redone my bathrooms 6 months before this new A/C installation. Because of AC Wizard’s poor workmanship, I now have a pole propped up in my shower to catch water dripping from the A/C. The constant moisture has caused pink/orange stains on my shower floor, and my grout has deteriorated to the point that I must spend more money to replace tile that was brand new.

AC Wizard has never made this right. Instead, I have been left with an expensive system that doesn’t function properly, an unpermitted and red-tagged installation, and ongoing water damage in a bathroom I had just renovated.

I want AC Wizard to take accountability for this installation, correct the HVAC issues, address the permit violation, and cover the damage caused by their negligence.

Jonathan is sooo amazingly awesome! He is respectful of clients' property. He's very polite and professional and EXTREMELY knowledgeable regarding HVAC systems. I learned a lot from Jonathan today. He took excellent care of us. Also, Valerie, the scheduler who scheduled our service in a very expedited manner, was very polite, very professional, and very accommodating. She sent Jonathan out less than 24 hours after I scheduled the call!

I've dealt with 3 HVAC tech companies in the past year, but AC Wizard is my new go-to! I'm so blessed to have found them! If you want professionalism, cleanliness, respect for you and your home, and great education on your HVAC system, let AC Wizard service your home. Thank GOD for this company. They come highly recommended!!!!

They came by to do some repair through our home warranty service. We got a quote for additional service (clean out the blower). They gave us a reasonable price (we had shopped around before) so we hired them to do that as well. They rescheduled an appointment for that work and came back a few days later to complete it. The tech we had was awesome and the blowers were sparkling clean. We were very satisfied with the work and level of service.

I was assigned AC Wizard from my home warranty, American Home Shield. They came out to replace our coil - this of course was not covered by the warranty so we had to pay over 2.5k out of pocket. Days later, our unit sounds like it is going to blow up. We can hear the noise out of every vent and from the unit outside and inside. AC Wizard has sent out 2 other technicians to attempt to diagnose the issue and has been unable to diagnose it. The unit was making the noise at one visit and not at the other. I wish we would have used a more reputably company. :(

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL – DAMAGED MY AHS WARRANTY CLAIM

AC Wizard was sent by American Home Shield (AHS) for a second opinion, and the experience was extremely disappointing and damaging. The technician did not perform a complete inspection and refused to check the evaporator coil, even after I explained that the first AHS contractor identified that as the issue.

He asked me to sign a document and clearly said it was only to acknowledge that he was present. There was no explanation that the wording could later be used to claim “neglect” or affect my warranty coverage. I was shown no photos, no test results, and no evidence of debris or buildup. Only afterward did I see paperwork stating “neglect,” which was never discussed or supported.
This incomplete and undocumented report is now being used by American Home Shield to deny my claim, exposing me to significant out-of-pocket costs. A second opinion should be thorough, transparent, and unbiased — this was rushed, careless, and poorly communicated.

Because of AC Wizard’s unsupported conclusions, a legitimate AHS warranty claim was denied. I would strongly caution anyone relying on a home warranty to think twice before trusting this company.

Worse service ever and they were not interested at all in trying yo make this matter right!! I only used them because it’s who my home warranty sent me to I’d rather had used the bigger more experienced companies but you live & learn! Long story short they sent someone out after a couple days of having to order part he came back replaced part and then a couple weeks later ac start doing same thing but worse this time we had to call out fire department & medics cause we thought it caused a gas leak! So I didn’t have days to wait on getting them back out here so I went with my first mind this time and called one of the bigger highly rated companies they came out same day! And before removing anything called my husband & I up to show us the problem the piece just replaced by AC “non-wizards”was completely installed wrong!!! They didn’t even used correct screws & one part they didn't even bother to place a screw in! So that piece fell started rubbing against another piece & started to burn I can only imagine what would’ve happened if we hadn’t been home when it happened to immediately shut off system!! So now we had to pay an additional $620 to the new company for a new piece & to reinstall!! Who has money to waste in these hard economic times! So if you don’t want to waste your money don’t use this company! I have pics, video & written documentation!! And this new better experienced company wouldn’t touch a thing until they showed & proved all this to us because they knew we had just had AC wizzards out to replace the exact piece!! Texas is too hot & times are too hard to deal with ac companies trying to get over!!! Highly Do Not Recommend!!! I’ve also filed complaint with BBB

I had an excellent experience with AC Wizard, and especially with their technician Mr. Fuller!

After another contractor sent by American Home Shield told me that my blower motor was “obsolete” and could not be replaced, and tried to charge me $3,700 to replace the entire air handler, I refused to accept that diagnosis and requested a second opinion. After some back and forth with AHS, they agreed to send AC Wizard out without charging me another service fee.

AC Wizard sent Mr. Fuller and he was very friendly, patient, and extremely professional from the moment he arrived. He took the time to explain what he was doing, answered my questions clearly, and was even kind and engaging with my kids, which I really appreciated.

Most importantly, Mr. Fuller was able to replace the blower motor, something I was previously told could not be done. The repair was completed successfully, my heating/AC system is now working perfectly again, and I had no out-of-pocket cost beyond the standard $125 AHS service fee.

This experience showed me the value of getting an honest second opinion. AC Wizard earned my trust, and Mr. Fuller did an outstanding job!
