Constraction reviews in El Paso, Texas

Purchased a home from them in 2021. Still haven’t fixed my 1-year warranty checklist. My boiler went out after 2 1-2 years had to pay for that, plumbing was bad just paid another big chunk on that. Windows don’t seal. Border wall looks like it might fall probably because it wasn’t built properly. Fire place doesn’t work anymore. Outlets were messed up had to pay an electrician to fix that issue. Tiles loose on the roof, cracks in the stucco. Funny how same houses on my street have similar problems as well. Oh almost forgot at least they came to fix an issue I had for something I paid for but they covered up. But forgot to repaint over the wall to coverup their mess.
UPDATE****
That’s the point they weren’t fixed.. when I had been asking for them after I moved in well before the 1-year mark until even after. Moral of the story a house built in 2021 should not be falling apart like it is 4 years later. -
Truly one of my wife's and my best decisions to work with Zia!

Very shady company. First off don't believe the reviews and their rating. They pay people to post reviews by offering them free upgrades for reviews. We were supposed to close back at the beginning of July, and come end of September they backed out of the contract. They were saying we were being "too picky" and they could never meet our standards. Please see attached pics on their quality of work. The painters took 4 tries before it was even an acceptable paint job. they had paint on the ceilings, light fixtures, outlets, and flooring. The first 3 times it looked like they watered down the paint it was see through. The tile work was the worst nothing was level or straight. they never used spacers, and couldn't line up tiles to save their life. Oh did I mention they tried to install and old hot water heater in our brand new house as well? It already had hard water damage and rust! I am not joking look at the pics. Does anyone every put blue with confetti garage epoxy outside of the garage? Well Zia homes does, and the CEO said to us "There is nothing we can do about it". By far the worst experience ever. Oh and isn't a shower supposed to be lined up? I thought so too. The list is too huge to list everything. Check out the pics they dont lie. Please do your home work and go with a quality builder. Them backing out was the best thing to ever happen to us because who knows the level of work on things we couldn't see.

WORST BUILDER IN EL PASO. BEWARE!!!! 12432 POLO NORTE is poorly constructed; the walls and LOAD-BEARING walls are crooked, wavy, and UNEVEN. We even put 2k down for upgrades to this house, and they refused to reimburse us. I tried to contact management multiple times, but they said we couldn't meet with the foreman to express our concerns. The tiles are uneven, and the door frames were at an angle, so the door wouldn't close right! We pulled out of the contract because I feared for the safety of my family if we bought this house. They didn't want us to pull out of the contract and wanted us to rely on the ONE-YEAR WARRANTY PER LORENA. STAY AWAY!

Victoria made the upgrade process very enjoyable. Her warm personality and honesty were essential in make the right choices to enhance my home. I wish all employees everywhere had her commitment to service.

My partner and I recently purchased a Zia home. We moved in when my newborn was 3 weeks old, we were excited to start our family. It all soon became a tragedy, after 1 month living in our home the entire bottom floor flooded, due to a leak in the laundry room. We are now 5 months in and now have an issue with water coming into our house. When we contacted the warranty company they will not wait even 30 minutes due to a "tight" schedule. When I understand we all have jobs to do, I feel like these companies act like it's our fault when in reality it's theirs. A new home shouldnt have these major issues, nor be pushed back due to a tight schedule. I have been very upset with this entire process. The home is beautiful but very poor quality from what we've experienced. Things are rushed ! I even told them about my concerns with one of the closets being crooked and they simply claimed the wall was built that way there was nothing they can do it's just how it was. I also asked for the floorboards to be replaced or repainted because of visible stains and they painted over the stains because that's what they "needed". Now the floorboards are nearly coming off, entirely stained and water enters the living room, you can feel where the floor is moist. They have no sense of concern what so ever. I recommend looking for other builders, and reading the fine print before making a decision.

Just had an amazing walkthrough with Sonia, their orientation specialist. It was a wonderful and thorough walkthrough for me and my out of town client! Can't wait to close on his beautiful 2-story home.

Victoria is a world class designer, very intuitive and spot on with her suggestions. Definitely recommend having a sit down with her to get your home design done.

It is honestly insane how many things we have had to come have fixed. We moved in about 3-4 months and have had to have people come in and get things fixed about 10 different time for 10 different things. You would not think that this is a brand new house, you would think this is a second-hand that needs dire fixing. Honestly so sad that they will sell you this dream of a beautiful house to spend your hard earned money and end up having to be worried about what is now wrong in this brand new house. Save your hard earned money. It really isn’t worth all the fixing these houses need. They made be beautiful but they might’ve as well made out of paper.

Warranty work was completed very well. Laura Esquivel did the work and was very considerate, efficient and completed all of the tasks. Thanks so much. I also wish to thank Mayra Salas of Zia Homes for her prompt response to our schedule and requests for assistance regarding warranty issues. She has been a delight to work with. If there are further concerns I would have no problem contacting her.

VETERANS STAY CLEAR
I should have listened to all the negative reviews. Zia homes will scam you out of money. They will see you as an approved veteran and over charge you for every little thing. Zia was well aware of my issues and took full advantage. I was not notified that things wee not refundable until after they had received my money. Zia is predatory. Do not listen to the 5 star views. Do your own research look on reddit and other sites. DO NOT BUILD OR BUY A ZIA!!!! -
My husband and I are buying a new house, David who gave us the orientation and helped us with the blue tape walk through was ver knowledgeable funny and supportive! Was with us every step help out with thing we missed. Truly grateful for the team that built our house !!

DO NOT USE THIS BUILDER! VETERANS AND MILITARY BEWARE!
On 10/20/2025, I went to look at one of their new build properties and, at the time, decided to go forward with purchasing with them based on the availability in the area. I signed a contract with them on 10/21/2025 and paid the earnest money. On 10/23/2025 I was emailed about upgrades and was given until 10/31/2025 to decide if I was going to purchase them. At no point in time was I told the upgrades would be non-refundable by Victoria Brown, either in email or the short zoom call I had with her on the last day I had to decide. It wasn’t until after I paid was it on the invoice. Zia Homes was also aware of the situation I was in when I went to purchase the home and upgrades, and I made them aware of court dates and that I would be unable to close by a certain time. They “graciously” offered to let me pay $3,200 a month to hold the property, which wasn’t disclosed prior to me paying even the earnest money. When I told them I was no longer going to move forward with purchasing the property, they refunded the earnest money, but would not refund the upgrades. On 11/21/2025, the president of Zia Homes, Preston Brown, along with my realtor Yumaira Herrera, offered to rent me the property at what my mortgage would be if I wrote them a positive review, basically forcing me to write it or lose out on what I had already paid, due to a negative review. On 11/22/2025, I was forced to write the review for them, due to Yumaira and Preston using deceptive and unethical tactics against me, based on the situation I was in. They also said they would continue to sell me the property after my divorce was finalized. Yumaira appeared to be more on the side of Zia Homes, instead of having my best interest in mind throughout the process. Today, 11/23/2025, I saw they relisted the property, but did not mention in the listing the upgrades I purchased and installed in the home, for less than what they were going to sell me the home for. I wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing with Zia Homes, let alone upgrades. They have yet to produce anything that says the upgrades were non-refundable prior to me purchasing them. As a veteran, I was taken advantage of by Zia Homes and Yumaira Herrera. At no point was I represented by Yumaira during the purchasing or signing of upgrades, she was provided the same emails, timelines, and zoom links for meetings, and Zia Homes took advantage of that. Never again will I look at Zia Homes or work with Yumaira Herrera. -
Victoria, was incredibly helpful and professional throughout the process of scheduling my Design Center appointment. From the very first message, she made everything clear, organized, and easy to understand. She provided multiple appointment options, was flexible with options of in-person and virtual meetings, and made sure I had all the information I needed including a detailed list of available upgrades.
Her communication was prompt and courteous, and she made what could’ve been a stressful part of the home-buying process feel seamless. I truly appreciated her attention to detail and her willingness to accommodate my schedule. Thanks again, Victoria, for making this experience such a positive one! -
Victoria Brown did our design center appointment. Super helpful and was very insightful. She helped me and my wife navigate through the many different options. She was both passionate about her job and personable through the process. Give her a raise!

The team at Zia Homes is fantastic! They are friendly and professional. I always feel like I am in good hands when dealing with them. Aside from that, this builder provided everything that I was looking for when I needed a home with a certain amount of square footage that also had standard amenities at a price that was more competitive than any of the others. Great job, Zia! I am grateful to have found you all.

My wife and I got married this year in March. This was our first house and building it from the ground up. Victoria was extremely professional and honest. She wanted nothing but the best for us! I have one recommendation! Promote this young lady asap, lol. We would have loved to meet/speak with the owner. We also got a glimpse of what the home office so it’s like and let me tell you everyone seemed happy and motivated to be working for Zia homes. The only thing that we were kind of disappointed was that we only got $1100 for beautification for the outside of the home. However, we were extremely appreciative for the five grand to do extra things around the house. One last thing, we also heard the owner going around when he first came to work and the way that he was able To have effective and positive communication with his subordinates was awesome. I can tell he’s a great leader. Thank you for a wonderful opportunity Zia homes!!!!!!!!

I want to take a moment to recognize Myra from Zia Homes’ warranty department. She has been absolutely wonderful to work with, always responsive, professional, and genuinely committed to helping resolve issues. Every time I’ve reached out, she’s handled things quickly and with a great attitude.
Myra truly cares about customer satisfaction and has made the warranty process much smoother than I expected. She’s the bright spot in my experience with Zia Homes.
That said, I do wish the quality and workmanship from some of the subcontractors were held to a higher standard. A few repairs and finishes in my home such as flooring level, shower grout, and sink support did not meet expectations for a home in this price range.
Still, Myra herself has been exceptional. She’s the reason I’d give this review five stars instead of two. Zia Homes is lucky to have someone like her on their team. -
Victoria from Zia is amazing- she really make the design of the house process very enjoyable. She is patient, gives you suggestions and really helps your vision come to life. It's truly made me super excited for our new home! 😍

We had a wonderful experience working with the Zia team. David and Victoria are wonderful. However, I want to take a moment to thank Luhiz. He helped us sell our home and made the process of buying with Zia easy. He was in constant communication with us and really made us feel heard when little things came up. I highly recommend Luhiz and Zia homes. Thank you, we love our new home!

We had such a great experience working with Victoria on our new home. She guided us through selecting all of our colors, fixtures, cabinets, tile, and paint, and made the entire process feel exciting and stress-free. Victoria has a great eye for detail and helped us bring everything together in a way that feels cohesive and true to our style. She was patient, knowledgeable, and really listened to what we wanted while offering thoughtful suggestions along the way. We’re so happy with our selections and can’t wait to see everything come together. Highly recommend Victoria!
