Plumbing reviews in Fort Worth, Texas

I was referred to Lone Star by American Home Shield. Megan is an absolute professional and a breath of fresh air. When they couldn't get me worked in, she was honest about it, and even helped cancel with AHS. She was very calm and sweet when I was aggravated about my issue. Turns out, it was a septic issue, but her honesty, professionalism, and calm demeanor made a bad day much better.

We had a new toilet installed by Jeremy Mertz and Megen yesterday and I could not have been more pleased with the experience... They were efficient and helpful and did an excellent job. They went above and beyond my expectations to insure that I was completely happy. The original toilet that was in there had mounting bolts that were too long and the caps that went over them never fit properly. They cut them down to the proper size and solved a problem that I have had for 15 years. I have had a lot of plumbing work done on this house since I bought it and have never had a better experience.

Nick did an excellent job at quickly solving a bathtub draining issue. He was very professional, knowledgeable and allowed me the time to get on with my day by arriving and completing his service call well within the two hour window originally confirmed. I'd call Lone Star Waters Services again!

Finally..... American Home Shield found a decent plumbing company....not only decent but superior. From the flexibility of their scheduling to the efficient and courteousness of the plumber that came to fix a broken pipe it was a very very good experience. So good that I am going to have them do some long needed work that I had put off just because finding a plumber is almost as bad as buying a car. 5 STARS from me!!!

Beware!! We had to use Lone Star through our American Home Shield Warranty (also beware!!) originally to fix our leaky kitchen faucet..faucet needed to be replaced. We waited over a week after the first visit, when I didn't hear back I called the office to find out what was going on. Oh yes, the faucet had been ordered (supposedly same quality as what we had before) and I was able to schedule the install-- but why did I have to call them to find that out and how long would it have been before they actually called me?? Then, two months after the new faucet was installed, the sprayer/faucet part just broke off. Like I just pulled it out to use it to wash dishes and it just snapped off and water sprayed everywhere. We called to have them back out to fix it/replace it. They have now told AHS that the damage was "not normal wear and tear"-- WTF!?!??! so AHS will not replace it. Oh, also, the technicians who came to look at the broken faucet smelled like a lovely combo of pot and tobacco. They WERE polite, that is the most I can say. Thanks a lot for LYING and screwing us over though. You are running a risk if you call these guys out.

I recently bought a home in Ft. Worth. Immediately we had issues with the plumbing. Thankfully, Lone Star came out and identified AND RESOLVED the issue. Courteous , professional and knowledgeable. Just what a new homeowner needs when the dream house starts to give you doubts, a company that is truly efficient! Thank you Lone Star techs, especially Roberto! Job well done!

Kevin did an excellent job of explaining what he was going to do to fix the problem and before he left he tested every area in the house to make sure all the drains in the area were clear. He also was able to complete the job in a fairly short amount of time. I would certainly recommend Lonestar Water Services for people needing assistance with plumbing issues.

Do not hire. Do not select as vendor through Warranty Companies. Put a temporary putty on one garbage disposal unit to fix the problem. Said they would replace the 2nd unit that’s “on it’s last leg” but they didn’t have the unit in stock. Said they would seek authorization with warranty company and text or call me that day. Never happened. I called and text the technician multiple times, never received a call or text back. Called the Lone Star main office multiple times and no one answered or called back. I called the warranty company to tell them of this experience and gained authorization to replace the units and was told the technician (Lone Star) would be notified and reach out to me to set up a date for replacement. Never heard from Lone Star. 8 days passed still nothing from anyone at alone Star - for the last time I text the technician to notify them of the replacement that had been authorized and that I would be calling the warranty company to notified them of the lack of response and unwillingness to respond to a customer. I wanted to give Lone Star an opportunity to make this right with the customer and salvage the experience by getting the units installed. I guess he saw this as a window to flex his authority. He called the warranty company and told them the unit did not need to be replaced - which the warranty company called to tell me. The warranty company heard me out and is going to make this right and likely take action with Lone Star.
Lone Star would not respond to a customer for 8 days but could make a call to a warranty company to deny service that they said they would deliver. It’s very sad that technicians and companies like this are still somehow able to do this and be in business. Honesty and integrity go a long way and when you don’t have either there are repercussions. Hope my awful yet honest experience helps in the long term for someone. -
I highly recommend Lone Star Water Services!! I had a slab leak which turned into replacement of old cast iron pipes that had seriously deteriorated. Paul and Cameron were absolute professionals. In addition, Paul answered the many, many questions I had throughout, demonstrating both patience and an extensive knowledge of plumbing. Meghan in the office was also a pleasure to deal with and Juan who came out on the first visit to diagnose the problem represented the company well. I plan to continue to use their services for any of my plumbing needs, although after this big project hopefully not any time soon. :)

We just had James out here through AHS to repair our toilet. He was very professional, polite, and did an excellant job!!! We were really pleased with his workmanship. If we need to have a plumber out again in the future, we're going to request him again. We highly recommend James!
Thank you,

Kevin and the other gentleman who came out were personable and helpful. They easily fixed the leak. They also arrived within the designated time range.
Lone Star was very quick to call and schedule. Plus they worked with my requests -
Excellent and professional office contact, Megan, was so helpful in the middle of a burst water heater. Was in touch with Dry Force and had them out to dry floors. Also, Justin, the tech who put the connections up to code and installed new water heater was very nice and professional. He explained all he was doing and instructed me on heater settings. Thanks to all of you who made this experience much easier for us. Great job!

Sent out through American Home Shield for 3 separate issues. They replaced the handle on the toilet told us that they had to order a faucet and another part for our other issues and that a follow up appointment would be scheduled. After 4 days, I called and spoke to Megan who stated that they transferred the issue back to AHS as they don't deal with the type of pipe we have. None of the requested services required them to deal with the pipe in the home. They lied to us about getting parts and coming back, then neglected to even give us the courtesy to tell us that they weren't going to come back. Also, the one thing they did "fix" doesn't function properly and the water keeps running on the toilet unless we jiggle the handle.

Excellent service! Timely, professional and very knowledgeable in all areas regarding my repairs. Have used Lone Star Water Services on two different occasions. Would recommend and will use again through my Home Warranty company.

Responding to a warranty claim, the technicians were professional, respectful and efficient. They immediately determined the problem, which was electrical not plumbing, and explained it fully so that we can ensure the electrician addresses it fully. Very good service.

Justin and James came out and did a great job installing our new hot water heater. They were professional, kind and very informative throughout the process. Could not have been a better experience!

I'd give them 7 stars if possible. My Technician was a complete professional and was super helpful. The service value was excellent. They have an automated review system that lets you put in honest reviews too...well done Lone Star water services....
I'm a stickler for good customer service and will go out of my way to support this business. -
All around terrible experience. Cody spent about 60 seconds looking at my broken exterior faucet and made the prediction/"warning that he makes to all his customers" that it wouldn't be covered by the home warranty. Sure enough he reported back that my water hose broke the faucet and therefore not covered by my home warranty. Wow, he really called it! He also got super creepy by asking me if it was just me that lived in my house. Would NEVER recommend this company.

Kevin was timely, professional and I am confident in his pre-diagnosis of my home's plumbing issue. He was friendly, patient and his thorough explanation of what the issue could be was very much appreciated. It's important to have trust in the company and their employees during stressful times such as this. Thank you!

Didn't have to wait long from call to them showing up. Though like many companies, they schedule in time windows, they are very responsive on letting you know when they'll arrive and postponing if needed. Very customer-centric staff. Jeremy Mertz was the service tech for this visit and he explained the repair process thoroughly and gave me tips for future prevention. Just glad I now have a reliable plumbing service, saved the contact info in my phone.

This is a bit lengthy so apologies in advance but I want to give as comprehensive of a review as possible as there were some positives and negatives on my experience and Lonestar Star Water Services may not be solely to blame.
My issue revolves around a kitchen sink leak, which is located behind the wall of the stub out. The sink leaks water anytime it is filled and has to drain...Not a ton, but it needs to be fixed.
Given the site and location of the leak I found it appropriate to call the home warranty. I have coverage for leaks that covers incorrect installs, wear and tear, etc... Given this is a normal use sink I thought this was a no-brainer call.
My experience started with a call to American Home Shield. They assigned Lone Star Water Services to do the evaluation and they promptly called and set up a time to come out, which they did one-time and stayed in great communication until they arrived.
When they arrived, he quickly checked the sink area and cut a small 1ft square hole to check the pipe. He could see the water and confirmed there was a leak. He took some notes and politely let us know he would call it in and submit a report. This is typical as they need authorization from the home warranty company in order to get approved and paid, which is totally understandable and should ve expected.
Later that same day I received a notification that American Home Shield had marked the request as "Completed". Finding that strange, I gave American Home Shield a call to get some clarification.
This is where I began to have issues and dissapointment began to mount...The warranty representative stated the repair would not be authorized because Lone Star Water Services' report stated the leak was due to the home settling.
I was pretty upset since Lonestar Water Services really couldn't see the source of the leak - The hole they cut only showed where the water was coming from directionally, not the source on the pipe. Being pretty upset I told the warranty company I would call back after I had a chance to review my contract exceptions more clearly.
An hour or so later I called American Home Shield back to get more clarification as I didn't believe the home settling claim.
When I called the warranty company back they quoted a new reason from Lonestar Water Services - This time the claim was that the repair was being denied because of misuse and abuse. Well, that just really upset me and I probably need to say a prayer for the poor person on the other end of the phone.
It was then that I decided I need to cancel the warranty. Spending $500/yr and $100/service call is really not a good investment when you consider you will likely have to pay out-of-pocket regardless.
So why a poor review for Lonestar Water Services you may ask? Well, Lonestar did not do a fair assessment of the leak and they either knowingly misrepresented the source of the leak, or are complicit in working with American Home Shield to write reports where repairs are denied. Given the communication channels one must go through, I will likely never find out as I received no report, and American Home Shield will not provide one to me either.
This company appears to have some great reviews - Most of the bad ones center around experiences with home warranties. One may even write off the bad reviews as outliers, but my review is based on my experience as a paying customer that doesn't expect anything for free - I do expect quality and value for what I pay as should everyone.
I am giving this negative review because I now have a trust issue and would hesitate to give any business to Lonestar based on my experience. If this is a hone warranty issue like some may claim I would then ask why would a good company risk their reputation by working with these warranty companies?
I am hopeful you find this review helpful and it aids in making a good financial decision. If you have a warranty claim I would probably cancel the call and find someone reputable and local on your own.
