Putting up Sheetrock, I put a hole in my hot water pipe. Thought it may cost me 2 to 3 hundred to have it fixed. No, they wanted over 6 hundred. I said no thanks and managed to fix it myself. Taking Benjamin Franklin off my call list.
Paid 79 for the service call

These guys charge lawyer rates. Quoted me $6400 to replace a $1000 water heater, and had to do it the following day. But you’ll save $1500 if you sign up to their plumbing service subscription. Thanks for motivating me to do it myself, took me less than two hours and cost $1180 for the heater and a valve set.

I would recommend Benjamin Franklin to anyone needing a plumbing repair. I was expecting a substantial cost to repair my low water pressure. Will never work with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again. We had them replace a water heater after our previous unit failed, leaking water into the garage. (We've also done a massive main water line project with them, so we're repeat customers who have spent a substantial amount with them.)

The assessment team saw the damage from the water heater. Over time we noticed the water heater started to lean and found out that recently that the team never took any steps to provide supports for the water heater (new plywood, drain pan) DESPITE KNOWING ABOUT THE DAMAGE, and when I called to see what they could to do help make things right, the Ops Manager Chris said it was "done to code" (aka done to the bare minimum standard, not the INDUSTRY standard and what's good for the customer) and told me over the phone yesterday "too bad so sad" now they have to redo it for more money. And if we have another company fix it, it'll void their warranty -- basically hiding behind their warranty to force me to keep working with them.

So they saved $25 for a metal pan and maybe another $25 for a sheet of plywood, no time savings during the original install, and are now wanting to charge me $975 to fix it. I was never offered the chance to have it done "right" -- they took advantage of me as a homeowner who trusted them and cut corners on the install. Probably so they can make more money later fixing a problem that they could have solved in the first place.

I'm going with a different company -- they clearly don't care about doing things right by the customer and only care about profit. Don't believe their service/parts warranty. It means nothing.

Mike was able to unclog the main drain line without having to take out the toilet. There has construction debris stuck in an elbow and was very difficult to get to. Mike did an excellent job

Alan Alvarez punctually came to my home to fix my floodstop controller, which got damaged during a severe thunderstorm. His working style totally explains his long-term experiences as a plumber. He also gave me handy pointers, such as a recommendation for GFCI outlets to protect water tank systems, and how to close the main water pipe when water leaks inside the house. I contacted Ben Franklin Plumbing to repair a slab leak. Jason responded and offered to perform a plumbing inspection for the entire system. His inspection determined that there was a slab leak and it may be difficult to locate. His inspection also identified a laundry list of valves that needed to be replaced before he could begin to investigate the slab leak, that replacing these parts was necessary to aid in the isolation of the leak.
The first valve was on the main line from the street which was frozen and needed to be replaced so he could isolate the house plumbing from the main line service from the street. To replace this valve and valve box ... $2636.27. I bit my lip and said OK. The valve box was located in a hedge row. To gain access to the valve box, he had to cut a section of the hedge. He cut way more of the bushes than required to access the valve box.
The second and third valves he claimed needed to be replaced to aid him in isolating the leak were the inlet supply valves to our two water heaters. I argued that though these valves would not stop the water supply, the valves were not leaking and I would rather not replace them. I suggested that we could disconnect the water heater and cap the supply and discharge lines. He claimed these caps did not exist and that the only option was to replace the valves. I replied that I have seen those caps at Home Depot. Replace 2 water heater inlet valves ... $906.78 each. I bit my lip again and said OK.
There was another valve on a toilet he claimed was leaking that he said he needed to replace to aid in locating the slab leak. I was not convinced it was leaking, however, I allowed him to replace it, too ... $236.09.
Following the work described previously, he was now going to start searching for the leak. Jason was told that we were not going to tear up the floors to fix the leak, and that the repair will be routed through the attic thereby abandoning the leaky pipe under the slab. I thought he was going to open wall sections to gain access to the plumbing and isolate sections of pipe until he discovered where the leak was located. He used a pair of geophones to listen for the leak through the slab. I have never observed this technique to be successful and it predictably failed in our case also. However, I paid him $654.61 to fool around with the useless geophone exercise.
Finally, we arrived where we should have started with this job ... cutting into the walls, gaining access to the plumbing, isolating the different sections of pipe, and looking for the leak. We found the leaky section of pipe and decided how to replace the leaky section in the slab with a new route through the attic. Jason wanted to replace it with a flexible plastic pipe, I insisted on copper tubing. Jason argued against my decision insistently, but I would not relent. You know, this is my house, he is supposed to be working for me, I am paying the bills, I should not have to justify my decision so vehemently. Jason also did not want to route the new pipe through the attic as I wanted and I was forced into a compromise for the route.
While we were searching for the slab leak, I discovered that the drain pipe on our bathtub was snapped off. I asked Jason to fix it. He replaced the entire waste system from the bathtub to the break instead of installing couplings and a short section of PVC pipe at the break. Replacing the entire waste fixtures was entirely unnecessary. He charged $427.16 for the tub waste.
In conclusion, Jason did little to soften the blows of a disastrous situation for the customer. He replaced parts that did not require replacing to solve the problem at exorbitant prices. Though I requested that he deliver the old parts that he extracted and replaced, he took most of the old parts with him. He searched for the leak using geophones though I think he knew the technique would not work.
I doubt that I will call on Ben Franklin if I need a plumber in the future and I certainly will not recommend Ben Franklin to others.

We had a water leak at 4:30 AM with flooding in half of our house. We thought that having service with Baker Brothers for so many years that they’d come through for us. Because of that we spent most of the morning calling different companies and no one was available. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing came to our rescue and was available, they followed up and sent a technician that morning. Our service technician Mr. Nicholas Green got to our house quick, explained what had caused the leak, ordered the water heaters. He even coordinated with the demolition crew so that he could install them after they were done patching up the wall. Nicholas also referred us to a home service. Their customer service start to finish was excellent. At the end we decided to change our monthly service with Baker Brothers and go with Benjamin Franklin! Thank you so much for your service!

My Service Tech Cody Lane was very professional, courteous, friendly and explained everything he needed to do to make the repairs. He gave me the quote before doing the repair. He cleaned up the area after the repair and asked if I had any questions. He emailed the receipt and let me know it was a 2 year warranty on the work that was done. Highly recommend the company!
