They were great with responding at first. We even drove into San Antonio which is over an hour from us to discuss our off grid job.
We left feeling like they could accommodate our needs. Told we would get an estimate within a couple of days. Have not received a text, call, or e mail for over 3 weeks now. Very unprofessional!
It lends itself to them being unprofessional overall when they can not do a simple thing such as communicate especially after they had assured us they could do the job.
Good to know because you would probably be left high and dry after install with no communication if there were issues.

I had my solar panels installed about 4 years ago all was well until a few months ago that it stoped working I tried contacting the company and no response. About a week ago I decided to call again and the transferred me to Tina who is the new person in charge let me tell you this was the best decision this company made. SHE IS SOOOOO HELPFUL!!!!! She is patient and understanding, she took the time to walk me through the process of reconnecting my panels and yes I was able to do it! Before this I wouldn’t have recommended just because it is frustrating to not get the help you need but now with Tina on the line I will be telling everyone. Thank you Tina you are great!!!

Moved into a home that had solars with this company. Called and paid over 500 dollars to have them transferred into our name. Took over a week for them to come out to service our panels. They didn’t have the equipment needed to allow us to track out solars on the phone app. Asked about cleaning and they suggested waiting until June/July. Have been calling and emailing about equipment and cleaning since June with no return calls or emails . All voicemails are now full, next step is to go in person. Honestly would not be surprised if the business was closed.

Install of powerwall was due over 4 months ago. The owner of the company initially promised to pay 4 months of power bills for lost energy and now is saying he will only pay one month. They do not return phone calls. The customer service and lack of professionalism is atrocious. Go with any other company, but avoid this one. You will be happy you did. Like many other posters here I have retained a lawyer and I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Do not trust the 4 star rating. Talk to real people who have dealt with this company. Please feel free to reach out to me. Spreading the word across the new community that I just joined.

My system went online mid-July 2020 after much anticipation. In the months prior, I researched extensively, interviewed existing panel owners, and requested bids from 4 companies. Despite very aggressive marketing and high-pressure tactics from at least two of the four companies, we chose South Tx Solar Systems due to their clear presentation, conservative estimates, willingness to answers our questions, and attentiveness to our needs. We installed panels, microinverters, and added 2 Tesla walls. We agreed to trim trees on the west side but decided upon their recommendations to wait on additional tree trimming. I was gratified and relieved with the energy production from day 1. It has been sufficient to power 80% of our energy needs in a 2400 sq ft home. Despite many recent cloudy and rainy days, we even send power back to the grid most days. The personnel at South TX Solar has been top-notch and very professional at all levels, before, during, and after installation, from sales, managers, solar panel installers, and master electricians. We recommend So Tx Solar System without reservations and would strongly recommend including them among those bidding for your solar energy system. Many bright days to everyone.

ADDENDUM: My CPS total energy charges went fr: $224 in June (before panels), to $183 in July, (panels commissioned mid-month), to $74 in August (electricity charge was only $27)!!

I had south Texas solar install an 11 kw system 4 years ago. All was good until now. My system hasn't worked for almost 3 months. I have tried to contact South Texas solar but no response! They won't return my calls, emails or texts. This was my biggest fear! Service after the sale. I will keep trying to get a hold of them. I just wanted my solar panels system to work. 8/27/2022 Update on my solar panels system. I was contacted by Tina who informed me about warrantys and cost, she was very Knowledgeable and polite. She came out the very next day and repair my system! Thank you South Texas Solar! And especially Tina! I have no worries about South Texas solar. Service after the sale is excellent 👌. I Recommend them for all your solar needs! 👍

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I have been dealing with them for 3 -4 months to try to get them to either pay for or repair some damage that one of the workers caused to my front door. They bumped the wall of my house with their truck and now my front door won't open. I have been promised a check to have it fixed but the check hasn't arrived. They will not return my calls, they wont answer the phone. I need my panels cleaned and now my batteries aren't staying charged.
I cannot get a hold of ANYONE, unless you call the sales line, then a sales man picks up immediately. When he realized the call wasn't for a potential sale, he was very rude and told me to call the office.
    I am considering legal action.

South Texas Solar systems installed 20 panels on our house. We had a large tree obstructing the sun. They had a tree contractor trim back, clean our trees and haul the brush away. We’ve had our panels for about 2.5 years and we are super pleased with the savings in utilities and maintenance terms we receive from South Texas Solar. We have neighbors with panels from other solar companies that basically installed and have not followed up with them. We occasionally get service/maintenance visits and get ours cleans with a filtered water systems that’s leave our panels looking brand new. Tina and the gentleman who came to clean the panels and the other gentleman who evaluated our equipment were professional, kind and knowledgeable. We are very pleased with South Texas Solar!

Cannot possibly recommend at all. First installation was sketchy, the site lead was really nothing and asked us if all the panels were going to fit. They promised me 3 months of payments but then told me after the installation that it was "just an advertisement thing". (edit: after much fighting and follow-up phone calls and emails, they did send me the check for the 3 months at the "promotion" rate). I'll be posting a larger review on Yelp. I think my system now is good. They did hire an "independent inspector" after I insisted. And they did allow me to change the contract after some of these issues to get a smaller system. After all the selling they did and homework I did, you'd think they would have taken it a lot more seriously. I'm giving 2 stars because as far as door-to-door solar panel companies go, I'm sure they're far from the worst. Their owner is a nice, professional guy. Their salesman John Garza has been the only unquestionable resource in this whole mess-- I'd recommend him any day. Disappointing to be posting this review. I'll do more work next time to make sure I'm not in this position again.

In 2018 we had our first panels installed by South Texas Solar Systems. All went well and the system worked nicely so in 2022 when I wanted to upgrade my Solar, I called them. In Dec of 2022 they installed new panels and one Tesla powerwall. The problem is that I paid for 2 Tesla powerwalls. Now they are not answering my emails or calls. So in Feb 2024 they still have not delivered my second powerwall. I will update this review if this changes and they deliver what I have already paid for but for now I cannot recommend this company

Very disappointed on customer service for long term customers. Sure when I first purchased the panels everyone was at top 10 rating on customer service , but as soon as I purchased they pretty much forget i existed. I’ve had my panels since 2017. Last year I needed my roof re placed.
Well, let’s just say it has been a nightmare to remove the panels and re install them. They finally reinstalled them by January of 2023 but some got damaged. Well here I am may 2023 and still don’t have all of my panels fully re installed. I have emailed them and NO RESPONSE!!!!
    0000 rating on customer service.

Don’t trust what they tell you. Promised 2 cleanings the first two years and one cleaning thereafter. Had service for 5 years and had 2 cleanings. Call for a cleaning and they tell me they will get back as soon as they get it scheduled. That was a year ago. Also waiting for the tree trimmer that was promised 5 years ago. Don’t know how they stay in business. Just left another call back. How long will it take for this one? Maybe another year.

Actually 0 stars. Please listen to the reviews. We have tried to schedule a cleaning for our solar panels since last year's it hasn't happened. Also, when we signed the salesman told us that we would have more than enough panels to cover the electric bill. But we have only 30% coverage. When we let them know what was happening, that we were still getting a high bill, they turned it around an said you must be using more than last year. But you know all those lies will soon catch up to them. They have to live with the thier conscience that they lied to hard working people.

Warning- Before you read my review, read the companies response below and you will know EXACTLY why you should not do ANY business with them: Their response to EVERY poor review is “we are not accountable” below you will see their response to my review- “we have received no call from her” that is a complete LIE!! She has called for the past year and the salesmen continues to “pass along the message”

This business will continue to LIE in their review responses and not take accountability. Believe the customers, not the business responses. Customers, edit your review with a response to them.

Warning!!! Do not purchase anything from this company! My mother purchased a solar Tesla powerwall and paid in full almost two years ago and has NOT received it. On top of that they will not respond to any email or phone call. She is now seeking legal support.

I would highly advise you not to use South Texas Solar Systems. When we chose South Texas Solar Systems in May 2022, we decided to get solar panels, 2 power walls and new breaker boxes. At the time, the power walls were out of stock so we knew we would have to wait months before the system would be up and running. After we signed, our sales rep told us that, even though they did not have the power walls yet, we should go ahead and get the solar panels on the roof while they had those in stock in case they had a shortage of those once the power walls arrived. We took his advice and they hired a crew to put the solar panels on our roof. Immediately after they went up, we started getting notices from the bank financing our loan that we needed to start paying our full monthly payments. We called South Texas Solar Systems to understand what was going on because the loan contract we signed says we would not need to start paying until ALL of the equipment was installed and we were clearly still missing our power walls and breaker boxes. The only reason they could start charging us early was if all work was completed but the city was slow in coming out to approve the final inspection and turn on power. They acknowledged that they should not have submitted paperwork saying work was completed to the bank and reimbursed us for the first 2 months of our payments. After that, they told us they would no longer be reimbursing us monthly, but would instead pay us one lump sum when the job was complete. It took another 10 months before work was finished and now they refuse to answer our calls and the owner has changed his email so we get a bounce back message. They still owe us around $3,500. In addition, the reason we chose South Texas Solar Systems was because they said they would do twice a year cleaning and inspection of the panels (for the first 5 years) and once annually for another 20 years (as a differentiator from other companies). The first cleaning was originally scheduled for Oct 30, 2023. They “no call, no showed” and we have not been able to get them to reschedule us yet to come out for a cleaning. If you are looking at getting solar for your home, do not trust South Texas Solar Systems.

They installed my panels back in june of 2024 along with a generac generator. Which i am posting this feb 2025. Still solar not working and generator not working. I would not recommend this company. I have already got a lawyer involved with this issue. I am in oklahoma. Paying for a bunch of roof ornaments and pretty panel on my back wall and a generator to look at. The bad thing is my electricity bill is still the same and they want me to pay for all this crap too. By the time my lawey is done. They will pay for everything.

No panels on your warehouse/corporate office?? Is Google satellite mistaken or do you have panels on your building. ?

We do not recommend this company at all. We were mislead to acquire all the panels needed for 100% house energy consumption in 2021 and have not heard of them since then. No answer to calls nor emails requesting maintenance and they punctually charge the payment but the light bill stills high. Terrible costumer service. I would actually give “0” * I’m not even sure the boxes are still working right! Looking for legal assistance already.

We loved our panels when we got them 5 years ago. We have not been able to get a hold of anyone in the office for the routine cleaning and maintenance. We tried called several different times and leaving messages for several different people. I tried emailing through their website. They have not responded. I drove down to their office, the light was on, no one answered. A sign on their door said only by appointment. This is unfortunate because I could have given them high reviews a few years back.

    Updated March 25, 2025
After the response below from south Texas Solar systems, I emailed and called/left a message Feb 24th. I have yet to hear back from anyone at the company.

I agree with, and have experienced much the same problems as, all the one-star reviews below. Cleanings don't happen; even if they agree to schedule them, they never show up. Now, my system has been down three days and counting from all I can tell, Enphase is making me do the troubleshooting, and STSS won't get someone out here until next Tuesday. We are looking into hiring an attorney now.
Update 2/24: The rating stands. The service call to replace the gateway was completely shambolic and disorganized, with the tech showing up a time I had specifically told the service coordinator I would not be available. Furthermore, the panels are still not clean and I have no idea when that will happen.

If it was possible to give less than one star I would. I am the General Manager of a business where we have a 125k+ system installed, and it’s been like pulling teeth to get a phone call or email answered for 6+ months regarding a maintenance service call and some guidance on some sort of application to see our solar output in real time. I have used the phrase “do you even want our money and continued business” multiple times in emails with this company.

It’s frustrating but also somewhat comforting to see this isn’t just happening to me, but basically every other person that deals with this company.
