Shafer and our technician Sergio did an excellent job. We received same day service with complete resolution for our plumbing issue. Sergio was professional, transparent, and educated us well regarding the issue and its resolution.

From Barbara... Johnny did a great job diagnosing our malfunctioning thermostat, tracing the problem to a charred sensor, causing a shutdown in the heater. He showed me all the electrical systems he had checked, so I would understand what had occurred. He then did a clean out of the drain line, and gave me some new-to-me hints on how to improve the flush. (Follow up after 20 min with hot water.) Technicians, who will take the time to teach homeowners how to care for things better, are why we use Shafer. Nice job, Johnny🥳

John has been an absolute blessing to me and as a plumber for Shafer Services. He has been friendly and so very helpful each time he has come out to perform work at my home. My annual plumbing inspection was one of the most thorough and educational. My once difficult to flush toilet is no longer a problem (and now I know how to keep it that way). My showers operate as if they were new again. And I am absolutely delighted with my new kitchen faucet installation. It's an old home, and not everything has aged well. Thanks to John, I have fewer things to worry about now. He is the best and truly cares about the quality of his work and the satisfaction of his customers!

I am happy with the quality of the technician that helped diagnose a leak I had within the last 24 hours. No complaints there. Franc was knowledgeable and professional, and 5 stars for sure. I still recommend this place for your plumbing needs.

However, I am still frustrated with the company’s inability to respond to after hour/overnight issues. While they provide good services during the day, they use AI to respond to after hour emergencies and basically tell you to leave a voicemail. Even if there’s a leak in the middle of the night, they won’t respond until normal business hours.

Shafer Services has been my go-to plumbing and HVAC service provider for many years. John (plumber) has been with the company for as long as I’ve been a client and I’m able to request him for scheduled maintenance. I appreciate knowing the person who will be in my home and knowing that I can rely on him to be honest and helpful every time. John is perhaps the most experienced plumber I’ve come across in over 25 years of home ownership. Shafer is a reliable and trustworthy company that does it right the first time. They have earned my business year after year.

After draining my water heater, 2 of my faucets weren’t working. I thought I might need some pipes cleaned or something, but Chris showed me it was just sediment and rust built up in the faucet. He even showed me how to clean them. What I thought would be an expensive trip ended up just being the service call. I really appreciate the honesty and professionalism and would highly recommend him.

We’re building a new home, and an inspector noted several issues with our HVAC installation while it was still in progress. We asked Shafer Services for a second opinion, and their honest, knowledgeable feedback ultimately convinced us to have them redo our entire system—even though the original install was already about 80% complete.

Augie and the rest of the Shafer Services team showed up promptly and walked us through a clear, well-thought-out strategy for doing things the right way. Changing HVAC companies mid-build was stressful and expensive, but Shafer Services gave us something invaluable: confidence. We now feel secure knowing our HVAC system is being designed and installed correctly.

Dustin was on time, friendly and professional. I usually tend to do a lot of research when it comes to home or car maintenance and repair but I still had a literal list of questions. My questions were specifically about having them install a Reme-Halo Air purifier, but also some duct work concerns. He not only answered all our questions one by one (which jived with what I researched on line), but began to lay out our different options. He did this in a professional, easy to understand and friendly manner without that "sales pressure" that sometimes happens with other companies. We got 3 total quotes from 3 companies and Schaffer beat them by quite alot. It was a great interaction and at complete ease with what we learned along with the pricing. Were sold on Dustin and Schaffer, no doubt for long time to come.

The technician Glen that came to fix our AC was great did everything so quick and professional I will recommend him any time he was great

Came home to ac at 89 degrees and climbing. Called and ac tech at my home in one hour. Diagnosed the problem and had the parts to fix it on his truck. One hour later ac fixed. I was prepared to go to a friend's house as the heat was unbearable. Thank you so much for awesome fast service. Five stars.

On 7/12/2012, work was performed on my A/C unit, and the employee recommended to me that i purchase a UVbulb for it to keep mold from growing inside, and said it would cost $430. After trying to sell me on it, when i said i would need to do some research, he said it would include a free 1 yr service maintenance agreement and a year's worth (12) of filters free if i made the decision right then to go ahead with it. I agreed to have him perform the work then. Since then, i still have NOT received the filters, no maintenance has been done on it (fall 2012/spring 2013), and when i talked to the owner (Lonny) last fall (around Oct/Nov 2012), he informed me that his contractor was no longer working for him, but that he would honor his commitment to me. He told me to work with Holly (office manager/receptionist?) to get it scheduled and completed. Since then, i have been unable to reach anyone (Holly is gone also), the phone rings and then goes to VM... i leave VM's but dont get a call back. I would not recommend them to anyone after all the hassle i've received and work promised but not delivered.

Update from May '13: I was able to reach Lonny (owner) through text message finally, and he agreed to make things right that were in our agreement w/his sales rep. However, he then claimed the filters were on backorder and would take a week to get. A week later, i texted him and he said he checked and it would be another 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, i texted him and he said we're looking over a month now for these. I just gave up. I would not recommend this company for your AC needs... go w/Champion AC or JonWayne!

Update #2 (Sept '13): The UV bulb is out already! And its $125 to buy a new one.

Here's the kicker: Allstar AC has a black BBB accreditation logo on their website (shouldn't it be blue? that caught my eye), so I went to the BBB website and looked them up. They have a F rating. I wish i had done my research before calling them.

My experience with ALL STAR was great. Service was prompt and professional. John was personable and explained exactly what he did to correct the problem. I would not hesitate to call them again!! And recommend them!!!

Horrible customer service! Made two appointments and they didn’t show up nor did they even bother to call! TWICE! And we made appointments through the owner, Lonnie. We never got services that were promised to us that are clearly written on our service contract! We have taken our business elsewhere to a more professional company- they actually showed up! Don’t waste your time or hard earned money with all star.
