I recently replaced a water heater in Rockport for $1,500 total, so I expected something similar in San Antonio.

Elmer’s quoted me $4,500. I was honestly shocked. I ended up hiring another company that completed the entire job for under $1,000.

I’m giving two stars because their customer service was actually very good. The technician was polite, attentive, and professional. They communicated well, sent me his photo and contact information ahead of time, and even waived the $59 service fee.

However, I cannot justify a $4,500 quote for a job that was completed elsewhere for a fraction of that price. Please get multiple estimates before committing.

He was very respectful of our home, checked all of the components of the AC system, cleaned our drain line and outside unit as well. We called Elmer's to come check our Heating System cuz we smelled some kind of smoke. Mario Olivares was the technician who came, and he seemed to know what the problem was right away. Sadly, the previous company that we got service from before didn't do the correct work/connections. Our unit and air handler have to be replaced, even though it's understandable that it's 15 years old now. Units are SO expensive! Mario was able to work some numbers, and his wonderful Supervisor Isaac from the office was able to approve! Thank you so much guys!! Now we wait for the new units to arrive and be installed. Hopefully with our warranties, we'll have a great Company/Customer Relationship in the future with NO issues.

Michelle was amazing! She was VERY thorough, pays attention to detail and she explained everything to us. If I could give 10 stars I would. I would highly recommend her. Thank you Michelle! Definitely going to request you for any future services.

I purchased a new air conditioning system through Elmers about two years ago along with the maintenance plan. I just had my maintenance appointment done and the technician Mark was great, very personal and efficient with his work. I look forward to doing business whit him and Elmers in the future. However if there’s anything they Elmer’s could work on I’d say they could work on scheduling a bit better, especially for the folks that have purchased the maintenance programs and automatically schedule the next maintenance app or if it can’t be done automatically make it part of the process while on the phone or during the installation process.

From the first call to schedule a service to Mario coming out to get the AC looked at everything was top notch. Super courteous and respectful of our time and money.
Got us step up the same day for a new unit and duct cleaning. Highly recommended.

Mario definitely one of Elmer’s five-star employees in our book. He informed us upfront that we’d need a whole AC unit. Michelle took the time to explain what she was doing, answered all of my questions patiently, and made sure everything was working efficiently before she left. On top of that, she was genuinely kind and respectful, which made the whole experience even better. It’s refreshing to work with someone who truly cares about doing the job right. The technician Hector was excellent. He was very thorough in his inspection and explained the resolution in a clear manner. I was very impressed with his knowledge and his willingness to go above and beyond. He did not rush to finish early and do an incomplete job, but took his time and completed the task to a high standard. I could not be more pleased with his service.

These two are the HVAC version of Kobe and Shaq or even Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen — the kind of duo you hope you get but rarely do. They replaced my entire system. The AC thing that blows air and the big fan outside my house.

From the moment they arrived, it was obvious they were on a different level. Professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and completely in sync. One would explain exactly what was going on while the other was already solving it. No confusion, no wasted time — just smooth teamwork and serious expertise.

The A/C unit and water softener needed replaced for my investment property, so my property manager got a quote from a large HVAC company in the area. I have had to make a number of repairs, recently, and the estimate seemed high, especially in the wake of the amount of out-going cashflow I had been experiencing (it's been a rough year).

I decided to get a quote from another company, in order to feel confident in paying the amount in the estimate I received. Since I live out of town, I Googled for an HVAC company in the San Antonio area, and I came across the reviews for Carnes & Sons...I was impressed. I gave Carnes & Sons a call and they gave me an estimate $3,200 under the other company for the same model HVAC and $500 under the estimate I received for the water softener. Honestly, I was floored. I felt like I must be missing something...there must be some hidden cost I'm not seeing. ...but there wasn't. Carnes & Sons is just a great company, with great people who work hard to do a great job for a great price.

They even got high praises from my tenant who has had to deal with a lot of things breaking down at the same time, and who couldn't say enough about their professionalism and dedication. The property management company said they would be keeping Carnes & Sons contact information on hand for their other properties.
