Master Roofing did a masterful job replacing the roof on my house I. Mount Vernon. Accurate estimate, careful consideration of scheduling and options, and a good price made us feel we had made the best choice. Master Roofing had done an immediate and responsive job of temporarily patching our roof initially when a tree had gone through it and we were out of town. After we met with Travis, we knew we made the correct decision. This was confirmed by the rapid , professional installation and great result. They were careful to clean up thoroughly and totally exceeded expectations. Heartily recommend Master Roofing!

Just had a fabulous experience with Masters Roofing. Big snowfall in Feb brought large leaks on my sunroom flat roof. Truett responded to my call the next day. He even took the time to shovel some of the snow off the roof so he could see better what was underneath!!! He gave me several options and a great price. Because the leak was pretty bad he worked to get me in as soon as he could. His crew did a fantastic job, were very polite and left everything very neat and clean. Noah and Martin and Truett stopped by often to make sure things were going smoothly.

We recently had to replace both our roof, siding, and gutters all at once. The team at Master Roofing and Siding did an excellent job in making that project seamless and stress free. They were super easy to work with and we recommend them to everyone. Top notch crew!

5 stars given… there aren’t enough to rate my satisfaction with Master Roofing. Every aspect of my interaction exceeded expectations as did their work product. Travis Floyd provided exceptional advice and guidance throughout the process. The new roof, skylight, and gutter work was delivered with outstanding workmanship from their installation team. Great communication occurred throughout the project, from materials selection, site constraints, unknown issues discovered when existing shingles were removed, installation, and clean-up. Responsive follow-up was experienced throughout. Local, long-term family ownership is demonstrated in their service ethic and goal of providing excellent customer service and satisfaction.

Travis and his team at Master Roofing & Siding were excellent from start to finish. As a locally owned, family-run business based in Alexandria, VA, they really take pride in their work and it shows. Communication throughout the entire process was seamless—Travis kept me informed every step of the way and was always quick to respond to questions.

May 2022, Master Roofing & Siding did an excellent job replacing our entire roof (see summer pic of completed job). When we recently experienced a problem on December 15, 2025, Travis responded immediately. We have a complex roof with 2 roof peaks over clerestory windows. Covering the ends of the shingles at the roof peaks is protective aluminum flashing. Very strong winds detached the metal flashing above the left roof peak and it almost blew off. We used clamps to secure it in place until it could be fixed after the snow melted (see snow pic and clamp pic). On December 23rd, they were out here replacing the loose flashing. However, the flashing strip they had on hand didn’t match the other flashing strip above the right set of clerestory windows (see pic). So, they returned the next day (day before Christmas) to redo their repair with flashing that matched the other flashing (see pic). Needless to say, we are very happy campers. Not only do they do excellent work, they stand by it!!! Repair was covered by their warranty, so we paid nothing. Need that option for payment info.

Very reasonable price. Prompt and communicative. I highly recommend them for gutter cleaning.

Called for a small leak but apparently had a big issue, the valleys were installed wrong so they tore everything out and installed the right way, very satisfied, will use again on future repairs.

Liked working with them, very neat, clean, did a great job on our roof and gutters, would use again in the future if needed, i was also provided with a warranty longer than any other company we haf out here giving us estimates.

Roof started to leak, so we reached out, an appointment was made the following day, they were on time, professional, my roof was repaired on the spot with no further issues.
We will certainly use them again if needed.

Positive: responsive and reasonably priced.

Negative: poor quality of the job. Gutter is still overflowing after cleaning. No response to two emails and voicemails. I gave William a chance to put it right and was willing to pay for repairs if necessary.

William did an excellent job on the replacement of a downspout. He was competitively priced, prompt in all respects, and efficient. He was a pleasure to work with and took great pride in his work as well.

I am not sure why this company has good reviews. I do not want to say anything about the people who wrote reviews before me, but I think the company is a joke!
I purchased their services through LivingSocial. I called them one time to schedule a visit, nobody picked up the phone, but I was able to leave a message (that's important, since that is the only way they get their messages). A few days passed by, I called again and left another message. This time William called me back. We scheduled a visit later the same week. On the day of the visit I got off work came home and started waiting for William to show up. Nobody showed up and no phone calls either. I called their number and I left a message asking if I could reschedule. No return calls. A couple of days later, I called again. Nobody picked up the phone, but also this time I couldn't leave the message either, since the box was full. I found their e-mail and sent them an e-mail. I kept calling them every day for a week with no success. Eventually, I called LivingSocial customer service and I asked them to try to get in touch with the company. A few days ago they replied stating that they could not get a hold of anybody either. I requested my refund.
So far I have not heard from Top Notch!
The funny thing is, today I opened LivingSocial and guess what, Top Notch is there again!
Well, good luck to whoever buys it. It's definitely won't be me.

The reviews about non-responsiveness are all true. I had a steady drip from my bathroom exhaust fan every time it rained. Top Notch came by and patched some water proof material over some exposed nails and said that would work. Not even close. I paid the bill and then the same thing happened during the next storm. I've been calling and leaving voicemails with no return call. They clearly don't care about their customers or their professionalism.

I called around for estimates but once I called Top Notch Roofing I knew I was at the right company. They knew exactly what I needed. The selection was exactly what I was looking for. William was very helpful and answered all my questions. Once the estimate was given out the follow through was immediate and I had my new roof in a week. My house looks amazing and the crew was outstanding. Pricing was very competitive and right around my budget. I recommend this company to all my family and friends. Again thank you for the outstanding work !

William and his guys seemed so promising. We used them before to replace an attic fan and were so pleased. We since discovered a leak in our roof after removing a closet from our laundry room. William attempted to repair twice and couldn’t find exact location of problem. Said he would return and make it right but never did. I would have paid for necessary additional work, but instead still have leaking roof. He has not responded to emails or yelp messages. Very disappointing.

Highly recommend! We had just bought a house and we needed a new roof. Not being from around the Alexandria area we had no idea where to turn. My husband happened to meet William by chance and got to talking. Turns out William has been repairing/replacing roofs for the past 10 years. He gave us a great deal and did the job pretty fast too. No more leaks in our guest room. Thanks so much!

I found the company on yelp by the good customer rating and I was right: they did an excellent job for me!

The owner William is a very nice guy who is patient and answering promptly all my questions in details, willing to negotiate the price before the work starts.

He gives me an reasonable and competitive estimate and he even cut down the price after he finished the work which gave me a little surprise and I am happy of course.

He is also very flexible for the date/time of the work, I had to reschedule it and he did not have any problem, even though it was very cold on new date/time.

I would definitely recommend William and his company and will hire him again next time.
