Very rude service. We rent the apartment in 22204 and the Ac didn't work so our landlord sent him to fix it
He nocked on the door just like someone going to die.
I opened the door and told him that my baby sleeping ( he is 1 year old and nap time 12.30)

SO HE TOLD ME I'M JUST A TENANT not owner and even ask me do you know what is tenant meant. Because I'm not a owner of my place is that how he treat his costumer?

Not sure if it them or O.R. I am morr upset with! My AC has had an ongoing issue over the past few years seceral companies including this one claim to have solved the problem. It works a bit and then doesn't.
So AJM comes out over four times in a month and says it is fixed. But umm nope it is not. Their idea of an appt is to call me the day of and tell me when they can come.

Loved them. James is really thoughtful on installing and his approach. Puts a ton of thought into his work and attention to detail. Couldn't be happier.

I have used them for over 9 years. Shows up, does the work well. I appreciate the fact that he is willing to come at early and late hours. He is there when I need him...and I needed him last night when my HVAC system went down. Nice and cool today! Thanks James.

They were the WORST company we had. James claimed he knew the product we use BUT all along he was playing the guess game while costing us $$$$. He never corrected the source of our problems after several visits. Fed up, we called another company which corrected the problem in ONE visit. Our unit has been running smoothly since. **** DO NOT HIRE JAMES or anyone from A J Mechanical services. The are the Stooges of HVAC companies. ***** If only I could rate them with minus.

I should have read the google and yelp reviews. James the technician was rude and dishonest about the fees and discounts. I was quoted a fee for $83 and a discount to have my AC unit checked which we confirmed before he arrived. He looks at my AC unit and adds an extra $45 because he said that's what it costs to open the panel to my AC unit. He then tells me that discounts only apply to labor and parts. All that information would have been helpful when we confirmed the pricing and discount. I will NOT use this company again and I hope all the negative online reviews prevent other consumers from considering this rude and dishonest company.

During the last 2 years, I've used A.H. mechanical to clean the coils on my A.C. unit and perform maintenance. They did a fantastic job! They were meticulous in the work they did and their price was more than reasonable as compared to larger companies in the area. Last year, A.J. mechanical sent Trey to perform the annual maintenance on my very old A.C. He did a great job, was very polite, professional, and my A.C. worked better that summer than it had the previous 2 years. I highly recommend this company.

I provided him with so much business because he was a straight shooter and good prices. Recently because there was a minor hiccup in a delayed bill they wanted a credit card up front. I work for a large property management firm, I told him we have to be billed and cannot do credit cards upfront. He wrote me a message back and said Thanks for all the past business and that he will not work with us anymore. He threw away all our work over this minor issue, finally saw the side of this owner that others warned me about. I wished him best of luck with that attitude!

Please be careful dealing with AJ Mechanical and record your phone conversations because when miscommunications happen you will be blamed for them. James called me on Monday to setup an appointment for Tuesday to fix the HVAC at my apartment. He never asks me whether the time and date is okay for me, but mentions that he's able to get the key from management office. Hearing that, I assume no one has to be home for the appointment, and said that's okay. Come Tuesday, I miss 2 calls and voicemails from the technician asking for access. I was at work and wasn't able to respond. I called James the next day explaining what I thought was a miscommunication, but he insisted that I had said yes when he asked whether someone will be home. He would take no blame in it, and now I'm stuck paying for a missed service fee. James wasn't particularly rude on the phone as I was trying very hard to be pleasant and reasonable, but I can definitely see the potential for crudeness mentioned by previous reviews. I have no recommendation regarding their ability to fix things, but I would suggest looking at other options because when things go wrong, you want a company that's honest and willing to fix their mistakes.

AJ Mechanical Services were the contractors assigned to us by our home warranty company. They are very rude and unprofessional. They were unable to fix our AC and when we did a recall through our home warranty to have them come out again, they were absolutely outright rude on the phone. They also made it ridiculously hard for us to even schedule another visit. At their scheduled time, I would call them wondering where they are only to get a rude reply that they changed the date or time of the visit. This has happened twice for us already. After three weeks of dealing with this contractor, we decided to proceed with someone else outside of the home warranty network.

If you get assigned these contractors through a home warranty company, please ask to be reassigned to another contractor! It will save you a lot of headache and time!

Extremely rude, lacking in any professional qualities, disorganized and in the end you will be blamed for their inability to do their job.

This is our Story

From the beginning they lied about coming out to our house and said that we had left furniture blocking the area and that is why the service was not done. We have it on camera that they never came and sent pix showing that nothing was blocked and that no one had showed up. They still wanted to blame us.

Then they came out to do the regular check up on the HVAC we were home and talked to the two guys. They said everything was great and we are all set.

Four days later the heatwave hits and guess what....the ac doesn't work. So we call them to set up a service request.

James calls us back and insists that no one has come to do the regular check up and that they are coming tomorrow to do the seasonal checkup but won't repair anything because this is just the routine check up.

I let him know that this past monday two men had indeed come out and had already done this routine check. He flat out says that's not true and that he would know if someone had come out. I continued to politely share with him that I had spoke with someone to from the company the friday before and that they did come out and check the AC. We even had to hook up our garden hose so that they could spray down the unit. James says no that is not possible and that they are not willing to do anything. I was stunned into silence at his aggressiveness and mummer ok? To which he says ok good and hangs up the phone.

Believe the negative reviews and used a different company!

We have used A J Mechanical Services for about 4 years. We had our AC installed by another company and had a lot of problems with the unit. I called James and he sent out a service crew that fixed the issue and explained in detail the reason the unit was not working before they serviced it. I would and do recommend them for their great service and customer care.

Extremely pleased with the service provided by Mike at AJ Mechanical! His responsiveness over the phone through calls/texts, professional insight, and methodical troubleshooting resolved a pesky electrical issue with my unit which required more than one visit. His patience and honesty with his assessment meant that my unit functioned again during the hottest days of the summer.
