Taylor was amazing when it came to taking down my massive Oak Tree. It was a huge job but he tackled it and got it done. It was cool watching how they bring down a tree that huge! Will definitely be calling him when the next tree needs to come down!

BUYER BEWARE of CUT KNUCKLE FIREWOOD! Purchased 2 cords of oak firewood for $425 from Taylor's Facebook marketplace. They dropped off 1.3 cords of mixed hardwood about 25% rotten. Messaged and spoke with Taylor and four different times he said he would come to my house to see and discuss the issue...he never showed up. Instead Aaron comes and drops off 0.1 cords. Aaron confirmed my measurements and we agreed that they shorted me at least 1/2 cord. It took a lot of back and forth to explain that 2 cords is 256 cubic feet, how to measure it, and that this is defined by the Department of Agriculture. Additionally Virginia Code 3.2-5641and 3.2-5600 make it very clear about the legality of using the word "cord" and its reference to 128 cubic feet. It's simple math. Spoke with Taylor who multiple times, said he would make it right and bring the 1/2 cord. He sent a truck which only dropped off 0.2 cords of wood, mostly ponderosa pine. So still nearly 1/2 cord short, not the wood that was advertised, ignored my latest message. This has played out over two weeks and he has had multiple opportunities to make it right before I wrote this negative review. Only want what I paid for, or refund the difference. Not sure about their tree service, but AVOID CUT KNUCKLE for FIREWOOD. If you are planning to purchase from them...DON"T...or make sure you inspect the wood and quantity before you pay. My experience shows a lack of integrity, honesty, customer service, and owning your mistake. Says one thing and does another and then makes excuses. I suspect one of three things will now happen. There will either be no response to this, or a bunch of excuses, or a claim to make it right without following through! Let see.

Great service! Very personable and respectful of property! One day I approved the estimate I received notification that the tree would be down the next day! Watching the process was fascinating. Their price beat out two other quotes that I received previously by over $1,000! If you’re looking for tree removal, trust Cut Knuckle to get the job done!

ALM saved my lawn!
Early last summer, my neighbor and I had discovered a sand spur rapidly spreading over our yards. It had tiny brown triangles that you could barely see until they were embedded in your shoes or worse, feet. My two year old and my neighbor’s dog experienced the worst of it.
We looked into some available lawn treatment companies. Google only pulled up the large, national companies. They deal with lawns from regions all around the country, they aren’t locally based, experts that actually know the local soil. Fortunately, my neighbor’s dad informed him of a just that. We both contacted Agronomic Lawn Management. They have a great year-around program. When you sign up, they place you right into their continuing program. Well, I had spurs to one side of the driveway; I dug up most of the lawn to the other side of the driveway grinding out tree roots and a stump from a fallen tree; and the backyard was covered in various weeds. My lawn was a mess.
Our zip code rep for ALM, Daniel, reached out via text to inform me he’d be by later that week to inspect my lawn and spot treat the worst of the spurred areas. Then the following week, he’d come back to perform the month’s planned treatment. After a few months, my family was back to walking barefoot in the lawn. The spurs were gone. Then ALM informed me that it was the time of year to buy the slit seeding option, if we wanted it. I was caught off-guard as I thought that was included in the year-around program I already purchased. So that bit was a little upsetting. I think that is my only complaint I have about everything they’ve done for me. I wish that was made clearer in the beginning. But I knew I needed the slit seeding. Another unforeseen cost of repairing my lawn I hadn’t planned on in the beginning was buying some sprinklers. ALM did inform me that the results of the seeding rely completely on watering the lawn effectively. So I bought some tandem sprinklers with timers that I only had to move once a day for 2 months. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I was thinking it’d be. Anyways, back to ALM’s service. When that grass started coming in, and it did very shortly after the seeding, It was beautiful. Nice, bright green, soft underfoot, and complete coverage all across my property. The soil I packed into the stump hole and root ruts disappeared under fresh grass. Same for the low points around the lawn I had packed with soil. The spurs were completely gone. My backyard has no weeds, just healthy grass. They did it. It took ALM less than a year to fix my lawn. I am completely satisfied.
Overall, the cost of the program was very affordable. Both my neighbor’s lawn and mine were repaired better than we hoped for. ALM’s customer service was friendly and very easy to work with. Their website is user friendly. Our zip code rep, Daniel, was great. He kept me informed of every upcoming service for my property and provided a report following every treatment providing what had been done, his personal observations of how the lawn was faring, and his recommendations on watering more or less, adjusting the height to be mowing properly during whichever phase of growth the lawn was in, etc. It was a very straight forward and professional.
Good job ALM! You deserve all of the local lawn care business.

I switched to ALM about 3 years ago. The staff and the service that they provide are top notch. I am relieved to use a service that is not only trustworthy, but certified by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. Derrick is the technician that takes care of my lawn and I really appreciate everything that he does toward helping to make my yard beautiful and weed free. I would (and have) highly recommend ALM to those that would like their lawn to look healthy, great looking and the envy of the neighborhood.

Kimberly came to check out our shrubs today. What she found would curl your hair! But, she came with a plan and a treatment. She treated our plants with a dormant oil which will kill the issues she identified, even before we knew we had a problem. Great job, Kimberly!

Hired ALM as friends of mine had success with them. Their service was expensive, I was hesitant but wanted to see my lawn look great. Used their service since May of 2024 their initial applications didn’t show much improvement which I understood it takes time. My schedule called for a service in August which they came after I had overseeded my lawn. The new grass was growing well. My next application was supposed to be done in November to which they never showed up to service my lawn. I called December 10th asking why my lawn hadn’t been serviced. The reply I received was not what I expected from a professional company with the reputation they have. I was told they were busy and trying to catch up from the past week, I responded the past week doesn’t account for not receiving service in November which was a crucial time for my newly overseeded lawn. The tech never gave me a reason why they didn’t come for service. I also stated that his last application was very uneven to where it appeared the edge guard was left on during his entire lawn service. He started talking about fertilizer burn which wasn’t the case I didn’t have fertilizer burn I had NO FERTALIZER. He then stated he could apply some seed to the areas that were struggling. It was then I knew I no longer wanted to do business with ALM. Grass seed is not going to do well at all being applied in December it would have been a complete waste unless he was to put down some rye grass that maybe would have germinated however, I have a fescue lawn. I wish companies would do what they are supposed to, give you the product and service promised that you pay your hard earned money for and not try to bait you into being happy again with some false promise of fixing their mistake with another one. My lawn is important to me, and clearly not them. Pictures speak words here are some of my lawn and their terrible fertilizer application patterns.

Keith was my service person along with another person whose name I did not get. They did a great job, addressing bare spots on my lawn along with general seeding. Keith took the time to talk to me pre and post-service, and I ask alot of questions.
Highly recommend this team and look forward to seeing them again in November.

Our grass was saved by ALM! Demetrius is our technician and he is the absolute best. I appreciate that he notifies us ahead of time that he will be coming the next day. I also appreciate that he also notifies us of his arrival. He's always very efficient and congenial.
