Responsive, professional, and affordable. I've called Commonwealth twice, once on a Saturday, and received SAME DAY service both times. Commonwealth is the only service I found who had a human answering the telephone on a Saturday. Al and Mark were professional, knowledgeable, and understood they are SERVICE business. And I was stunned at how affordable the service calls were. I recommend Commonwealth and, in fact, already have spoken to my neighbors about our very positive experiences. We are now (again) cool a cucumbers and satisfied.

Shoutout to Commonwealth Cooling and Heating LLC. They replaced our compressor when our hvac system stopped working. They were fast, fair and there was no upselling. We also decided to go with a monthly service contract with them due to the age of our system.

In 2023 our 2 Carrier air conditioners were installed by Brian. He also does the maintenance on the units which work extremely well in these hot Virginia summers! He is knowledgeable, efficient, timely, responsive and nice!

My AC is working again after some very hot days I was very pleased with the rapid service after we called Commonwealth. I am also very pleased with the quietness and effeceincy of the new outside unit and that Commonwealth found one that was compatible with our existing indoor equipment.

Commonwealth installed a new HVAC system a couple of years ago & I just had them perform routine maintenance. The technician, Albert did a superb job & was a true professional. Commonwealth is a solid small company.

Morgan and his colleagues did a really great job installing a new water heater and attic fan. He explained everything, and took great care in getting it all done. Obviously an expertly done job. Would recommend this company to everyone.

Commonwealth cooking and heating were amazing! They came out same day, checked over my system and made some recommendations but did not try to upsell me or rope me in to expensive extra stuff. My technician mark totally knew his stuff and was efficient and professional. Prices were reasonable. They are now my new HVAC maintenance people!

We hired this company in a bind when our HVAC stopped working during a heat wave. We appreciated that they could come out right away and hoped it would be an easy fix because the system wasn’t very old. After spending several thousand dollars chasing issues that didn’t end up resolving the system, we agreed to pay $14,000 to replace it. Two short years later we received an error code and were told by several other companies the system wasn’t installed well - who knows if that’s true, but given the quick failure of the system, something definitely didn’t go well. Because we lost trust with this company, we didn’t ask them to come back initially and had another company attempt to install a fix. They warned us it could be a bigger issue due to install issues and sure enough, it was. We called common wealth to ask them to make this right given we spent upwards of $17,000 and now we are looking at a huge bill to actually fix the almost new system. Common Wealth refused to come stating they won’t help since we called someone else to attempt to fix their issue. Words can’t express how frustrated we are and I hope this message helps at least one other family avoid going down this path.

Commonwealth Cooling and Heating helped us out with a very speedy replacement of the circuit board of an A/C unit. They were able to procure the part and fix the unit the next day which was so incredibly helpful as we had a deadline to get it fixed before the weekend arrived. Al did a great job. Commonwealth Cooling and Heating has really helped us out over the years at multiple properties!

The folks are friendly and capable, but their prices are excessive and they jam you in all sorts of ways financially. For example, they have a standard service fee for coming out, but then they don’t waive it once you agree to give them business at their inflated prices, which is fairly standard industry practice in Northern VA.

Commonwealth C&H has been doing my annual service checks for many years now. They do great work, friendly technicians, great price and don't try to sell you parts or services you don't need. Highly recommended!

I decided to try Commonwealth after having a huge issue with the previous company I used for annual checkups. Commonwealth is great and keeps everything simple. Easy appointments. On time technician. No upselling. No pointing out dozens of flaws not seen on the last checkup. Efficient and fair! Didn’t even need to show a coupon. Highly recommended!

Don’t waste your $100 like we did. Technician never even opened our HVAC system to check the wiring available, just told us he didn’t *think* the smart thermostat we bought was compatible. (I too can do a lot of thinking, people don’t pay me $100 for it though). The company’s way to “resolve” the issue was to put me back on the phone with a technician who did not seem to understand why I wanted a new thermostat in the first place.

Technician Albert McMaster arrived at the scheduled time for a more or less routine checkup of our HVAC system, which is both in our condo unit and on the roof of the 4+ story of the condo bldg. The roof inspection included at least 3 ladders, which he took in stride. He promptly prepared options for replacing the system which is more than two decades old. We delivered the signed option sheet & deposit to Casey the next day. We're looking forward to a smooth replacement process and a carefree future use of the new system.
