Our AC rooftop unit went out and needed replacement in the middle of the heat wave in Washington DC. Several companies we contacted were overwhelmed by the demand and/or were unable to meet out deadline request.
NS Heating and Cooling responded promply and had a technician out to assess the situation within hours. They contacted us right away once the inspection was done and had a good estimate ready that same day!
Although we finally decided on another company - we found that we had personal ties to them - I would like to recommend NS Heating for their speed of response and excellent customer service!

Our ac stopped working we called NS they came out within 1 hour. Juan was very knowledgeable he told us we needed to replace our blower motor . Job was completed same day. Ac is working great.

Have to be honest. Sami is one of the best person in this business and very trustworthy. Mom AC broke down, he came himself to get an estimate and best part he match and beat all other estimates. His crew came down as promised and put a new unit as expected. Got 1 year labor warranty and provide docs to register unit for 10 year parts warranty. I never met this guy in person, but he did what he promised. I would heighly recomend him and will diffinanly reference to friends and family. Thank you

Second time I’ve used NSI. First time at my moms house. The second at my in laws 5 years later. NSI was fast, reliable and the best deal in the DMV area. Sammy was professional and a true gem to work with and stands 💯 percent by his installations. I highly recommend!!!

I am very pleased with excellent service provided by NS Heating and Cooling. About 3 years ago I got two complete units (inside and outside) replaced by them; I bought the Amana units with lifetime warranty. Sami is absolutely the best in this business, he gave me the right guidance at that time on how to pick the right system. I have been enjoying the excellent systems installed by his team for 3 years. This summer one of the units had a capacitor blown and his team promptly replaced the capacitor. Five star service!

TALK TO NS HEATING FIRST!
Have used NS Heating on several occasions now. Not only have they bailed us out of several HVAC breakdown situations, they have also replaced 3 HVAC systems for us in downtown DC - we've had a 5 star experience each time. One system replacement involved moving the compressor unit to the backyard from the roof, and while they did not remove the old unit, they placed the new compressor in the backyard and did all the wiring required with the minimum disruption to the indoor dry walls etc. They also added an extra intake on the second floor, found the ideal location for it and completed the job in good time.
The other two systems required replacement of the chimney liners, again managed with expertise. They gave very competitive prices, the best labor and service warranty anywhere on Carrier Performance 2 - 4 ton systems.
Sammy is extremely personable and will personally ensure that the job is done right each time .

They put in an HVAC system 3 years ago - very fair price and even installed it on Memorial Day for no extra charge. Everything works great. They have also been very helpful about coming out to the house to give quotes for moving ducts or putting in a mini split as we add an addition to our house.

I am very pleased to write this review for NS Heating and Cooling Inc based on having to replace an aging heat pump system in my condo apartment. While checking out various contractors, I received an immediate telephone reply from Sam at NSHVAC inquiring about my project which required a total system replacement (air handler, heat pump and thermostat), as my old R22 system had finally given up! I described my needs and Sam emailed a written quote promptly, asking to confirm my requirements with a site survey. After the survey, we confirmed selection of a 2 ton Carrier air handler, 1.5 ton Bryant heat pump and new thermostat. 2 days later, Oscar and Victor showed up, right on time and began the project. They laid down drop cloths on the carpet and took their shoes off everywhere else they had to go. The old gear was removed, the new gear installed and was up and running in the early afternoon, ahead of schedule. Oscar and Victor did a great job, neat, tidy and a detailed clean up once complete. I am very happy with their work and would recommend them to others in the Northern Virginia area! A+ !!

Omar is ahh-mazing! He installed AC, heating and thermostat. I haven't had any issues. He is responsive and without hesitation there when needed. Just recently, Omar assisted me over-the-phone with getting my thermostat back on track after experiencing collateral damage from fire. For all of my AC & heating needs, I'm choosing NS Heating and Cooling. Oh, did I say that prices also are ahhh-mazing! Thanks, Omar!

I have records of multiple calls on September 12 2023, October 6 2023, June 17 2024, June 25 2024.
If you look closely I started my reviews fall last year. I was promised the issue would be fixed first thing summer 2024. STOP PLEADING FOR BETTER REVIEWS. DO YOUR JOB!!!

UPDATE 2024, JULY 28:

We still have the same issue. Happened 2 times in June. Was told that it might be due to defective part.and should be covered under warranty. Was told that they would order it and let us know when it comes. It's been a month and all we have is dead silence.
Today we had another event.
Horrible.
UPDATE A WEEK LATER: after the review below, I was contacted by the company and they apologized for my case falling through cracks. Technician came over but they were not able to identify the problem yet (error messages were nulified after our own attempts to restart the system). The agreement is that when the problem will repeat itself - we will get someone asap. I am rising it to 3 stars and will update as soon as the problem is fixed.

NSH installed our HVAC in 2020. Installation went smoothly. This summer though we started to experience periodical shut off of outside fan and system not cooling the house. During the first call they asked for address and nothing happened in response. After the second call, there was a request to provide serial number and radio silence again. Very poor service. Do not recommend this company.

If I could endorse NS HVAC with 10 stars, I would do 11. In times of a major appliance change as a homeowner you can't help but come across a slew of fears from unaffordable costs, lack of expertise & customer service, a rigamarole of estimates/visits & appliance quality. My fears were instantly quelled beginning with an initial service call with OMAR. He is an exceptional customer advocate & well informed. It was all about solutions and all around best value during our call. An hour later he was already inspecting my malfunctioning unit. Fast forward- from Omar's initial visit to his friendly team bringing installation to fruition seamlessly - it was HANDS DOWN the BEST & FINEST transaction of this capacity and magnitude (furnace replacement- photo inset). A GOLDEN PACKAGE surpassing my expectations; stemming from follow up calls to post install customer service. Quick, reliable, quality assured, clean, friendly, flexible, & reasonable. I am very much looking forward to a new A/C unit replacement come this summer with NS HVAC & the opportunity to refer. Thank you for the pleasant & "warm" experience !!!💯

Installed the wrong unit per the contract. Did not check work. Unit is undersized and does not work efficiently. Notified Sammy, and was told it's really hot out, deal with it...we found out it was undersized two years later and now Sammy is not honoring the contract.

I advise any customer to check the model and serial numbers of the units installed to the what is in the contract and ensure that they are correct prior to installation.

My first impression was good and they seemed knowledgeable. We got a new HVAC unit to replace the existing one. After the installation a few days went by and the system shut off. When there is a blockage in the drain line it automatically shuts off. The tech came back out and stated "they only install the units, I need to call a plumber to clean the drain line." (after calling and asking other HVAC companies they all state that checking and cleaning the drain is all part of the install, a standard practice to make sure the system is running correctly)I called a plumber who stated as well that NS should take care of this. Ended up call another HVAC company to come fix the drain line and discovered that this company did not correctly do the install and they installed the missing pieces that NS did not do and replaced the tubing that was put on incorrectly. I spent over 1K to the plumber and 2nd HVAC company after spending the big expense of a new unit. After them telling me that they need to come fix the issue they stated if it involves the drain line that there was nothing they could do to rectify it, so I told them not to come back to my house since it was most likely due to it not draining properly. Let this be a warning so you don't get gaslighted. One less customer for NS and an added customer to a more capable HVAC company. Thoroughly disappointed with NS (so much for guaranteeing their work)
