HVAC reviews in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Extremely unprofessional. Today, my wife called at 2pm to have a technician come to our home to look at a 2 year old system THEY THEMSELVES installed which is not working. We were told by the call center agent “I will relay that message”, and it is now 9:20pm and we have not received a call back. I called again just a few minutes ago and was told the same thing and when I explained the situation, the agent hung up on me. Oh, and we pay them $30 per month for their “comfort club”. I’d suggest calling anyone but One Hour for your HVAC needs.

Technician arrived within the stated time and introduced himself as John "Notti" Nottingham. Very pleasant and person
able to speak with. He didn't waste any time getting into the furnace to find the problem at hand and was able to give me answers within just a few minutes. He also gave me a few options to choose from to best correct the issue at hand. Once l made my choice he dove right into the job and got it taken care of. I feel quite comfortable with my dealings with Notti, and I'm sure we'll have contact again in the future. -
Brandon & Nathaniel did a great job with my super pro precision tune up for both Winter & Summer! They were both extremely friendly, very professional & went through every step to make sure that I understood exactly what they would be doing. Brandon even did two things that no technician has ever taken the time to do in all my years of having a contract with One Hour! First, he showed me where the water drain pipe was & what it looked like before he cleaned the clog out. Then he told me the very simple manner that I could monthly manage it it with a cup of warm water mixed with vinegar! Secondly, he cleaned one of my vents that no one has ever taken the time to clean! I appreciated both Brandon & Nathaniel’s work ethic & professional standards! I will request that they come back to my home in the future! Thanks One Hour & thank you Brandon & Nathaniel for such wonderful service!

Very thorough diagnostic analysis for intermittent fuse blow issue on relatively new One Hour installed unit. Technician was polite, courteous and professional. No problem found, so together we decided to change the thermostat rather than doing nothing. Cost was higher than smaller companies, but scheduling flexibility was better.

Huge shoutout to the technician who came out today from One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning and had our heat fixed in no time. Professional, efficient, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. After dealing with delays and frustration from Drans in the past it was a breath of fresh air to finally have someone show up, diagnose the issue quickly, and get it handled the right way.
This is what real service looks like. Competent, respectful of the customer’s time, and focused on solutions instead of incompetence. Thank you for restoring our heat and our faith that good technicians still exist. -
They installed a brand new unit in our home the first week of January. Broke the intake door frame, left random holes in our ceiling in some rooms, after installing ducts in the attic. They advertise $500 if they don’t do it right the first go, which has yet to be seen. They had to come out 2-3x after the initial install to repair damages and fix ducts that whole rooms weren’t getting any air to. But conveniently, their install dept is never available for the call to pay their advertised $500 sum. My husband has called multiple times. Not sure I’d recommend them at this point, as many times we’ve had to contact them for issues with their install.
We have been paying for their membership for both of our homes, you’d think they’d honor their word over something so trivial, especially after all the inconvenience to avoid losing business.
I also like how other review comments left by the company always ask the poster to contact them— so they can continue to ignore the issue and leave it unresolved. -
Installation was on time as discussed with their comfort advisor. Some wrong parts were ordered but it was taken care of in a timely manner. With it being a new central heat and air unit on the market it was to be expected to have a parts compatibility issue. Can’t say it was their fault, things happen. Been a member with one hour for a couple years now and will continue to be. Overall I am satisfied with the service and quality of the installation of the new unit.

I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience! The customer service went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met promptly and professionally and early !!! We woke up this am with out heat!! So worrisome because the nights are in the 30-20 degrees, and I called on Friday knowing that it would be an emergency on Saturday, They showed up within hours on Friday ! And now I have heat in my home, it’s 64 degrees now!! Way better than 55 degrees that I came home today! Nick was so amazing and took the time to make sure everything with the unit in the attic and checked many times that things were running appropriately so very through, this is exactly the person and company you want to have service your home, he welcomed my fur babies, as we know when having dogs and home emergency’s it can be troublesome, Mr Disney made us all comfortable, he’s such a jewel and an asset to you company, thank you so much for my heat tonight, well sleep warm, and I’m looking forward to club membership and the continued maintenance, trust in your care ❤️ Thank you🐾🐾

PROPERTY DAMAGE DURING INSTALL AND STILL NO COMMUNICATION!!!! Do not go with the company. They only care about sales!!!! We have been longstanding customers of One Hour since 2017. They installed a new HVAC and mini split in our previous home. We had them provide our routine services, so when we moved and needed a new HVAC system we wanted to use One Hour again. They were very quick and responsive when working through the sale of the new system. The sales rep showed up in the evening and worked with his manager to complete the sale that evening. They came and did the installation the same week. The installation went most of the day from about 1130am-7pm. It seemed like they were in a rush at the end as they didn’t clean up the attic cover and left dirty finger smudges all over it. Later I noticed there was also grease marks on the back siding. They also left a few items in the upstairs hallway.
Shortly after the installation, we left for a week long vacation. Upon our return we noticed the upstairs attic access panel had fallen out and was blowing extremely hot air into the hallway as the outside temperature was over 100. The trim from around the access panel was loosened up after the technicians worked in the attic and there was insulation with attic debris throughout our hallway.
We called Onehour and they came out that Sunday. The guy was helpful and said if he the right tools he could take care of it then, but without them he needed to schedule it. This is when things started going bad. We couldn’t work out rescheduling and he said the office would call us. After a week and a half of never receiving that call, we called them back to check in. They said they only do this type of work Monday through Friday from 830-1130am, because they work their installations after that time. I told them that doesn’t work for us and we needed a time from 1pm or later. When asking if I could speak to a supervisor or manager she said no one was available but she would put in an escalation report with a “high” importance. This was Wednesday. On Thursday I called after work since no one called to follow up again. The lady said she was a third party and didn’t have access to anyone at the company and could only relay my messages and someone would call me back. After I got off the phone this time I remembered we had the sales person’s information. I called him as well hoping speaking to a third person would help get our attic fixed. It was late Thursday so I understood it would have to be Friday before someone could call back. No one from any of these three calls supported a call back to help us correct their error.
Our issue is they want to fix their mistake at their convenience so they can keep their schedule focused on their future installations now that they have my money. They want us to take on the burden as the customer to work around what works for them. Missing work to be at our home during a time that fits their schedule. We have reached out to them multiple times and haven’t been able to speak to anyone in a leadership position or receive a call back.
I still need my attic access panel fixed. We are very disappointed in their customer service when their technicians damaged our home. We will not consider working with them a third time! -
When your furnace stops working in the winter, you want fast service to fix it — in the same DAY, if possible!!
One Hour Heating and A/C delivers on that need. I appreciate the expertise of the repair technicians, the quality of the repairs, and the due diligence to get the job done! Great service and a good maintenance plan, as well. Nottingham did excellent work to restore heat to my home. -
The is the first time using One Hour company. I was very impressed with the customer service given by John Nottingham. He communicated with me on about the HVAC and made sure I understood what had happened to the system. I was also impressed with the cost.

John and Rose very professional and down to earth. The diagnostic was quick and efficient , explained everything that they were doing. Once the problems were found. John went through all the pricing options to include One hour comfort club and total home package. Before making a decision on the repairs, the parts were confirmed to be stock. They cleaned up their work area accounted for all tools. Went to get the parts needed to make repairs returned within and hour installed parts, ran checks performed the heat system tune up. Op checked the system everything ran great. Cleaned up the work area accounted for all their tools. Completed paperwork, payment and made sure I didn't have anymore questions. Shook hands told me to have a Great day. I'm super satisfied heat is on house is nice and toasty. Thanks John and Rosie.

EDIT: review changed to 4 stars because techs were sent out a couple of hours before they were originally scheduled the following day. Did not receive 5 stars because of the emergency status and not having techs on call in a high demand, essential, business during a high demand, essential, time period.
Awful. My mother and father have been comfort club members for YEARS and when they called to get a tech out for an emergency, they were told no one could come out until 5pm the next day. OVER 24 HOURS LATER.
It’s been below freezing for some time now, and having heat is an absolute NECESSITY. For this company to not even try to get someone out on call before the next evening, to let my parents, my wife and myself, and our 2 year old son freeze is an abomination.
I will never use One Hour for my own home ever again, and I will be urging my parents to switch to a company who cares enough about its membership customers to do everything they can in an emergency situation.
In case anyone needs clarity on the bad review, it’s the simple fact we are waiting over 24 hours to have someone even come out to inveistage the problem. No urgency for this company toward their customers. Below freezing temps and they expect us to just bundle up like it’s not 20 degrees outside and 40 degrees inside. Joke of a customer service company. -
Dylan was professional, courteous, and thorough. He was on time and highly efficient with his troubleshooting skills. I was extremely happy with pricing and no pressure sales pitch. I bought the maintenance package and One Hour will be my go to HVAC company.

First let me say this is not a rant of someone looking for perfection, but just simple, "how can we make this right", type of customer service.
Just 4 months after One Hour replaced my HVAC system ($$$), I had to have the tech come back out twice, only to offer me an additional $1300 solution to correct the problem (expanding a return). When asked why this was not addressed during their assessment and evaluation of my home for the system they sold me (and installed), I was told, "it must have been missed". The kicker is even with everything I invested, to include the membership, the manager was not willing to cut anything from that $1300 (not even an additional $200, since "they missed it")...and that still wasn't guaranteed to fix the issue.
The most concerning part was when I went into my attic to look at the work that had been done by One Hour, I noticed both supply and return lines were collapsed/restricted, rips in line installation and poor duct taping. I brought this to the attention of the manager and the fact that at least four techs have seen the system since it had been installed. I found it odd that no one noticed this or even made mention. Her first response was that they are not responsible for existing duct work, which didn't make since, because it was connected to a new unit and I would think the tech would ensure they were connecting the correct line. None the less, she said that she'll look into it. However, even after I told her that I had pictures of the work I have issues with, she didn't even ask me for any pictures until I brought it to her attention that I would want to see pictures of my staff's work.
After that, I told her that I was no longer looking for anything additional (not that it appeared to matter), I would just hope that because of this interaction, she follow through and revisit any system of quality assurance checks they may have. The amount of debt the consumer assumes is not One Hour's responsibility, but I do believe getting the quality of service invested and professionalism is. -
Deshaun Clark visited our house to do a service call and full system check up because things didn’t seem to be functioning properly with my system. Due to the thoroughness of the full system checkup it was quickly determined that the system was running properly and it was in fact my thermostat. It was quickly replaced and the system was running on what has proven to be the coldest night of the year. Every dealing I’ve had with 1HR Heating & Cooling Techs has been nothing but exceptional. Deshaun Clark definitely exceeded our expectations and is continuing the excellence we’ve experienced to date.

John (Notti) Nottingham will be added to my hall of fame of technicians. I’ve gone without heat for 5 years, paying for companies to come here and giving me little to know information or trying to sell me something I didn’t need. He was extremely thorough and found the point of failure incredibly fast. I will recommend One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning all day if all the technicians are like him! Thank you so much for all your hard work and saving me and my dogs from another cold winter!

Update 2/7/2026: To clarify and update this situation: One Hour Heating & Air sent a technician to our home today, and their technician confirmed that a 60-amp disconnect was installed on 40-amp gauge wiring. This confirms what the licensed electrician previously reported—that the system was improperly installed from the beginning.
This is not a communication issue, a maintenance issue, or a matter of speculation. It is a verified installation error that created a serious fire hazard and directly caused the system failure.
Given this confirmation, We expect One Hour Heating & Air to fully address and remediate this installation error and to stand behind their work, especially when safety is involved.
In February 2023, One Hour Heating & Air installed a new HVAC system in our home. In February 2026, the system abruptly failed after a loud noise came from our attic.
Our home warranty company sent a technician to inspect the issue and determined that the HVAC disconnect had overheated and that a licensed electrician was required. A licensed electrician subsequently inspected the system and confirmed that the wiring installed for the HVAC unit was of an incorrect gauge and not sufficient to safely support the system. This caused the disconnect to overheat and created a serious fire hazard.
This issue is the direct result of improper installation at the time the HVAC system was installed by One Hour Heating & Air. It is not a maintenance issue, normal wear, or customer-caused damage. The electrician explicitly stated that the wiring should have been correctly sized at installation to meet the electrical load requirements of the unit.
When I contacted your company, I was informed that we would be required to pay additional fees for One Hour Heating & Air to inspect or correct this issue. This is unacceptable. Charging a customer to investigate and fix your own installation error—particularly one that posed a serious fire risk—is not consistent with standing behind your work.
This situation could have resulted in a house fire. We have a one-year-old, three-year-old, and five-year-old living in this home. The safety implications of this mistake are extremely serious. -
Josh did a service call under my maintenance plan. He brought with him a trainee ( can not remember his name , sorry). Both were efficient, polite, and personable. My husband arrived during the service call, & the guys had some good laughs together while Josh wrote his notes
I appreciate one hour, it is so good to have peace of mind regarding our home.thanks a million! -
Outstanding service from start to finish! Ivey and Avery. They showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and completed the work efficiently without cutting corners.
What really stood out was their honesty and attention to detail. They took the time to answer all my questions and made sure everything was running perfectly before they left. It’s hard to find companies that truly value customer service the way One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning does. -
