If you are in need of any HVAC service, I highly recommend Mahalo Mechanical in Virginia Beach. I had to replace my HVAC system after several attempts to repair it. After dealing unsatisfactorily with two other HVAC companies, I was referred to Mahalo by my neighbor. It was a great referral. After discussing my needs, I selected an HVAC system that meets my needs. The system was installed by TJ and Dan. They were both efficient, very professional, well mannered and polite. They completed the installation in a reasonable amount of time and cleaned up afterwards.

The selfishness in me does not want to promote this business because I don't want Mahalo to become too busy. But I cannot deny them of their superb customer service and work. The interactions with Brendan and Kaley (sorry for spelling) restore faith and confidence that there are still good business owners in our area. Everyone did a great job. They were professional and did the job right the first time. We purchased a whole new A/C unit, and all of the ductwork was replaced too, they had the best price, and finished the job fast and didn’t cut any corners. When our upstairs AC went out, I reached out to Mahalo Mechanical—and they came through in a big way. Even though it was late in the evening, a technician was at our home within a few hours. He was incredibly knowledgeable, respectful of the late hour, and had the system up and running quickly. Thanks to him, we slept cool that night! Truly above and beyond service. I won’t use anyone else going forward. Highly recommend!

I would HIGHLY recommend this company they were amazing. Air conditioner stopped working during the night and outside temperatures were going up. I called my current HVAC American Mechanical and they couldn't come till next Tuesday and would not help me EVEN though I pay for their maintenance program. I called Mahalo and Brendan said the team could be there by 2pm today I was delighted. Then they came earlier than expected and were done within the hour and cold air is now flowing. I also signed up with the maintenance for the year I loved them that much. I can not recommend them enough don't call anyone else call Mahalo!!!

Our ac went out, called and Mahalo came out the next day. Lee was awesome. He assessed what was going on, determined what the issue was and fixed everything. He explained everything to me so I understood exactly what was going on and I signed up for their maintenance service. There was no sales pitch, it just made sense, especially with the weather here. I’d highly recommend Mahalo.

I was recommended Mahalo Mechanical by a family member for my rental property and they came out the same day and fixed the issue right away. A few days later my own home had AC problems during one of the hottest weeks of the summer and again they showed up the same day and had everything working in no time. Incredibly professional fast and reasonably priced. I’m really happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone.

Javon did our maintenance today and he did a great job! He discovered an issue with one of the heating systems and he ordered the replacement parts and he will repair it under warranty.

I called Mahalo Mechanical to check out a problem I was having with my HVAC. They sent someone out that same day, who thoroughly checked out and diagnosed the problem. Unfortunately for me, it required a full replacement of my HVAC system, but Mahalo gave me a fair price and sent out an impressive crew to remove the old and install the new. Each of the work crew was knowlegable, well-mannered, and introduced themselves as they came inside. They were prompt clean, quiet and respectful, and I couldn't have felt more confident and at ease with their work. I highly recommend this company.

I want to give a shout out to Dylan, who came to our home to complete the system maintenance for our system we have contracted to be done two times per year. Dylan explained what he checks for the maintenance and how each part tested, and which parts will have a "normal wear and tear expected life". He reviewed our concerns (based on having one system doing the entire first floor), where the front rooms and back bedroom temp can get real warm at night and real cool during A/C months. He indicated that he felt the way the duct system was set up that adding a thermostat to isolated front rooms would not in his opinion provide the results we anticipated, but going to review with his manager and both would come out to review together. As he stated he would, we received a call the very next morning to see if the following day would work to come to the house! He was not only thorough, and knoweldgable, but communicated in a way that I totally understood. A very nice young man with great customer service and care!

We have been customers of Brendan for years, even before he started Mahalo Mechanical and his customer service has always been outstanding! He has provided service to every home I have owned. His services have been so reliable, even our friends and neighbors are now his customer as well! We woke up to no heat on Monday morning with temperatures in the teens! I called Mahalo Mechanical and they were amazing! An HVAC technician arrived within hours of my call. Zach and his assistant were knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They were able to troubleshoot our issue and get our heat back on within a short period of time. We were so impressed with the whole experience, we have chosen Mahalo Mechanical for all our heating and cooling needs. We highly recommend Mahalo Mechanical! Make them your first call!

Advantage installed the system nearly a decade ago and I remain impressed with the level of quality service they provide! What’s really appreciated is the preventative and safety report provided to avoid future problems. Would highly recommend Advantage heating.

Alex arrived in time for our bi-annual check up and cleaning. He was very courteous and respectful. His work was very thorough and thoughtful. He looked after every element of our two systems and made sure everything was clean, well charged, in-spec, and draining smoothly. We couldn’t ask for better service! Well done to Alex and the team!! I went on their website and scheduled a maintenance tune up for our A/C units. I got a follow up call the next morning and got an appointment date and time. She said it would be after 12noon but they would call in advance to let me know they were on their way. The day of the appointment I got a call at 12:20pm to ask if this was a good time for the technician to to head over. I said of course! A few minutes later the technician was at the front door. He worked on the outside units first and then the unit in the attic. He was very professional and did a thorough job. He said the units both looked really good. Well they installed them just 10 years ago. Hopefully we get another good 10 years out of them.

I gave a middle rating due to two circumstances. Our system stopped working on July 4th, after a call to Advantage we agreed to the emergency call. Adam was very responsive, showed up as promised. When he left we had a system working and we discussed the age of replacing the system. 4 days later, I called for an estimate to replace system and the system was no longer cooling again. Valerie answered all my questions, was right on point with her customer service skills. She set up for an estimator to come provide an estimate. I asked to be transferred to set up a return service call. From this point everything went downhill. Customer Service skills went out the door, 3 day wait for repair person. The representative was unpleasant, nonchalant and I am sure sitting in nice cool office. Customer service in my eyes is the integrity and backbone of a company. Today I called to cancel our repair call and response was I will take you off the books. In my ideal world it would have been nice to hear, I will be happy to cancel your call and if you need us, please let us know. We will be glad to assist. We wait now to see what type of estimate and warranty. I will then evaluate updating my review. I change my rating due to the company reaching out to me to discuss. A company willing to listening to a customer concerns shows me they have the integrity and are customer focused. Cannot let one employee who needs guidance be the reason for a mediocre rating. Thanks Advantage for caring.

Alex M was a great technician! Very thorough and explained what was going on. We had Advantage put our units in over 15 years ago and have been on service contract with them ever since. Always fair, courteous, reasonable and on time!

Last summer, the capacitor went out on my down stairs unit, and I didn’t really know any good AC companies in our area. However, Advantage was recommended to me by a good friend so I decided to tried this company out for this one time service to fix my capacitor. A technician by the name of Alex came out to fix the problem, and boy did we hit the jackpot with him. His knowledge is remarkable and he is truly a professional! He gave us a very detailed overview of what he was going to do and once he was done, he again gave us a detailed run down of the maintenance he preformed. Fast forward a few months, we decided to sign up for their annual maintenance program. Today we had them come out to do routine maintenance/cleaning of our heating system and guess who showed up! Alex! I’m telling you, this guy is the G.O.A.T.! He again got here and explained in detail what he would be doing. Throughout his visit, he continued to ask if we had questions or concerns, and he also gave us a number of pointers on best practices to efficiently heat/cool our home. I had my reservation about AC companies because I’ve heard horror stories about other companies who come out and try to rip consumers off by selling you services and things you really don’t need; however, this was not the case. I’m not the one to normally write reviews, but I had to give a shoutout to Advantage Heating and Cooling! This is the company you need to call for all your HVAC needs, HANDS DOWN!! When you do call them, ask them to send you Alex! He is the man! I’m sure all of their Technicians are awesome, but I will be requesting Alex moving forward. Thank you Advantage Heating and Cooling! Oh, I forgot to mention, the lady who works the front desk (can’t remember her name) is awesome and very helpful as well!

I have a contract with Advantage to maintain my heating/cooling system every 6 months. They are great. My AC died 7 weeks ago (during the heat wave) and I was able to get a new unit pretty quickly. Cooled very quickly and I was very happy. Unfortunately, it stopped cooling a few days ago. I called Advantage and they came out the same day and put new coolant in the unit. It lasted a day and then stopped working. James came out on a Sunday and diagnosed a bad coil unit. He came out the next day with Alex and they worked for about 4 hours and everything is great!

Advantage has been awesome. Quick response. Professional people. Friendly staff on the phone. They tell you everything they are doing. James and Alex are awesome with lots of experience. I highly recommend Advantage if you have any AC/Heating problems. Kevin
