Jerromy gave me some excellent customer service. Not only was he helpful in clearing my drain, he was knowledgeable and professional. He even took the time to clean up the area after. Hopefully I don't need to, but I'll definitely use Roto-Rooter in the future, should I need it.
Thanks again Jerromy! -
Gio was fast, friendly and communicated everything I needed to know upfront.

I'm extremely impressed with our service and he got us up and running very quickly. I definitely plan to ask for him as our technician in the future and use roto rooter.

Wayne was professional and explained a lot. He was able to reduce my cost by understanding the different reasons for a hose spigot to leak and was able to resolve it by simply tightening a nut I didn't know existed. I've used them before and will continue to.

Summary: Always double-check and question the prices quoted — don’t agree without understanding the details.
I want to share my experience with this business. It wasn’t necessarily the worst outcome, but it certainly wasn’t the best, and I believe it’s important for other customers to understand my situation before deciding whether to hire them.
One weekend, I noticed a stream of water under pressure coming from a small copper tube connected to the water heater circuit in my garage. I had never dealt with plumbing or heating issues before, so it took me some time to shut off the water and determine the next steps. The leak continued at a lower pressure.
Roto-Rooter was the second company I called after finding their number on Google Maps. To their credit, the operator picked up right away, confirmed a technician was available, and said they could come within a couple of hours. While waiting, I took photos and discussed the case with ChatGPT. Based on that advice, the issue was a simple replacement of the copper pipe itself between the recirculation pump and a plastic pipe leading to the heater. Estimated cost: $200–$400, including labor and materials.
The technician arrived on time, inspected the area, and said he had seen a similar problem with a neighbor recently. He asked when we bought the house (over 5.5 years ago) and then proposed replacing both the recirculation pump and the leaking pipe. I asked why the pump needed replacing if it was working fine. He gave vague answers about “reliability” and potential future issues, without clear reasoning.
When I asked for a quote, he said $1,400 (excluding taxes and materials). I was shocked! When I questioned the high price for a simple pipe leak, he again gave generic explanations about their “company rates” for certain repairs.
I suggested replacing only the pipe — the obvious fix — and he hesitated, tried fitting a new tube, but still said he wasn’t sure it would solve the problem. He could “try,” but it would cost about $600, and if it didn’t work, we’d still go back to his original $1,400 plan.
At that point, I decided to get other quotes. He agreed and didn’t pressure me, but also didn’t give any practical advice for stopping the leak completely, like how to drain the remaining water from the heater.
I asked how much I owed for the visit. He said $175. I argued this was too high for 10–15 minutes of looking at the problem without performing any repair. Unexpectedly, he refused payment altogether, so I just tipped him and he left.
Later, I called a colleague (not a plumber) who had tools for working with pipes. Within an hour, we removed the damaged copper pipe and replaced it with a new one. Problem solved — no expensive pump replacement required.
Bottom line: It didn’t seem like the technician was focused on solving my problem quickly and reasonably. The repair proposed was unnecessary, and the prices quoted were extremely inflated. In my opinion, this was not professional behavior. I’m sharing my story so future customers can make an informed choice. -
My toilet unclogged itself while I was waiting for a plumber, but Seth from Roto-Rooter was already on his way and checked to make sure nothing needed repair, free of charge. He was very kind, and it wasn't a long wait either, about two hours. Will happily call again if I have another problem.
