Great service at very reasonable price. Peter in customer service was very helpful in setting up our heating systems annual inspection and "tune-up." Jon, the technician servicing us, was methodical, thorough and meticulous. He checked our Furnace, garage heater and hot water heater all for $159.95. He took time to answer our questions and was very professional, courteous and helpful. A great experience and I plan to make Discount Mechanical Heating and Plumbing our primary source of help on these matters.

I was texted a picture of my tech along with his name prior to arrival and I felt like that was incredibly thoughtful. Jon Q was prompt, friendly, communicated as he worked, and didn't hesitate to educate me along the way.

Everything from the consult and quote to the install was as smooth as kerrygold butter. Gotta tell you though they are not the cheapest they sure know how to make sure your needs are met in the most impactful way. Thank you to Patrick, Stephen, and Cisco for such a fantastic experience.

This is the third time I have needed an affordable fix and discount mechanical delivered each time. Raven was super fast and willing to communicate her expert knowledge to me in a way I understand. It is peace of mind knowing I can count on them when I really need to. Thanks!

They were the only company who could look at my broken furnace within the same week. A few friends and family had me stressed, saying this company overcharges and that I’d made a mistake putting down a deposit to reserve my appointment. I did not find that to be the case at all.

Raven came out and had my furnace fixed within an hour. She was knowledgeable, professional, and the prices were more than fair.

I’d definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future.

Had these guys come out and diagnose a gas smell. Robin was professional and efficient, and he took the time to explain the issues he found with my furnace. He fixed the problem, made a few adjustments to the furnace, and rode off into the sunset. 10/10 would recommend again!

Called with clear instructions on what I wanted done. I needed a garbage disposal removed and the sink converted back to a normal sink. You’d think that would be a simple, quick job for a plumber, right? These guys showed up and had to do an ESTIMATE for THIS and wanted to charge me $696.17 for THIS. I thought it had to be a joke. To change out the disposal? $865.83! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA! I guess they thought since I am a woman I am an idiot. Took him a LONG time to come up with the estimate. I guess when you have to tack all kinds of costs on to get that number it takes a while.
Anyway, what kind of plumber can’t do a simple job like this the same day?
Save yourself money, call Anchorage Plumbing and Heating. Didn’t need an estimate. Came with the disposal, completed the work in under an hour, and didn’t treat me like I was a cash machine idiot.

Tech came out to check at some failing bathroom vent fans. Recommend a complete replacement of all 3 units, because existing units were too old and parts weren’t available. The job was quoted at just under 4k and that didn’t include the fans or drywall repair afterwards. After spending 20 minutes I was able to find and order new replacement parts for the fans, including motor and fan assembly that is a direct replacement for under a $100. The technician didn’t even bother to check for available parts. Just quoted a replacement.

Stephen and his partner did a great job installing a new water heater during the holidays. Everything looked great and thank goodness we'll have hot water soon just in time for the holidays. The guys at Discount Mechanical saved Christmas for us for servicing us as soon as they can. Very prompt and professional. I highly recommend.

Jon Q was an absolute dream. He was here on time. He did the work quietly and efficiently within the timeframe expected. He respected my mobility loss and came upstairs to tell and show me exactly what he did. He complimented us on the care we have given our furnace and water heater. I am so disappointed in these people.
I made an appointment because one of my unit was not getting any heat so a few days later a plumber came out, before he got there I already drain the zone valve changed out a Taco. When he got there he did exactly what I already did, was hookup a hose and drain out the same valve I already did. He also turned up my hot water temperature to 180 from 160 with his heater reader you can see that there was hot water going in the first room, second room and bathroom but never reach the third room so he suggested putting a heater on it for a few hours and it should be fine. He charged me $360 and a week later the heating still not working so they came out and didn’t charge me but told me I had a frozen pipe and that they don’t unfreeze pipe and gave me other people to contact to come out and defrost the pipe.
It make me sick to my stomach to know that they can just charge you on work that’s not done. I would never in my life call these people again and I hope none of my friends do either.

Removed old water heater and installed tankless in about 7 hours. I was enjoying my shower soon after and heat to my home! Provided an overview of controls, display, etc. They even cleaned up the dirty foot prints on the floor as they left. Great crew!

When you buy a 1965 beauty with some original hardware, you know replacements are inevitable. It's just frustrating when it happens in the middle of record snowfall and fluctuating temps. Thank goodness for Discount Mechanical and Steve! They took care of us with courtesy, professionalism, and above all, care. We are happy to be customers for life!

Paid the $129 to have a tech come out first week of Nov. He said we would have a quote the following week after the weekend. Well it’s 3 Jan 2026 and I have called 3 times and my wife has called twice since our first initial call. Customer service kept telling us they will send a quote the next day. Still no quote. I asked to speak with a supervisor the last call and the customer service rep said he would call back but no call. I have been more than fair waiting for two months just for a quote. Terrible. Don’t recommend. Thank you for nothing but taking our money that we could’ve used towards someone who would actually help us!

We discovered a water leak from our Manabloc at the crack of dawn that could’ve caused major damage. We had to shut off our main water supply, and I felt the sinking dread of having to find a plumber on a weekend, in winter, in Anchorage.

Thankfully, Discount Mechanical Heating and Plumbing Services came through. The phone rep, George, scheduled an emergency service right away. Within less than two hours, Abu arrived at my house, within 3 hours from my phone call, I had working water again, all at a reasonable price. This was by far the smoothest experience I’ve received with plumbing service and my first time with Discount Mechanical Heating & Plumbing. I will definitely return again as a customer and would recommend them to anyone.

Raven did a wonderful job in repairing my thermostat upstairs in my home. She was prompt in her arrival to my house, she was professional, and courteous. I was impressed with her patience and focus on the repair, as she had to back track another person's attempt at repairing the thermostat prior to me hiring Discount Mechanical to do the job. She was able to finish the repair in a short period of time after locating the problem with the prior work done on the thermostat. It was also easy to set an appointment time with Discount Mechanical online for service. I would definitely use their services again.

Great experience working with Abu and team. I was able to get an appointment quickly and they came and provided real solutions to a slow bathtub faucet we'd been fighting for years. We appreciated Abu's courtesy and communication during the service.

I had the pleasure of working with Raven and she did an outstanding job fixing my furnace that was no longer producing heat. Not only did she work quickly and efficiently, she also took the time to show and explain how to do my own maintenance, and made recommendations of things I’ll need to replace in the near future. I was very impressed by her attention to detail and taking the time to explain things to me. She was 10/10 to work with!!

My water heater went out midnight this morning, contacted Discount Mechanical and they fit me in to replace the water heater same day and also made sure my furnace was up to municipal code, 5 out of 5 service, highly recommended. Patrick A. was fantastic and had excellent customer service, thank you for everything.

I tell you these people are awesome. My forced air heater went inop 2 mornings ago. I used Angel and it got me to them , they called me later that day and he offered me an after hours diagnosis but you have to pay the after hours which I didn’t care. I needed my heat. Their repairman John is so nice and very thorough and figured out the issue wasn’t easy. Bad gas valve. Looked it up and luckily someone had it in anchorage unfortunately it was too late the job needed to continue another day. We said our good byes and told me the main office would call in AM. Next morning the young lady offered me an availability for that night. I was so happy most places told me they were 3.5 to 4 weeks out. I had called 5 places. Discount Mechanical were the only ones that miraculously got me in thank god. I highly recommend them. Oh John arrived that evening and about an hour later replaced the bad valve with the good and bingo it started. I was so relieved and happy. John is an awesome technician and the people are very nice and understanding. Highly recommended
