Plumbing reviews in Mesa, Arizona

We set up an appointment between 10am and 12 noon. They didn't call or showup. We called again at 12:15pm to see if they were running behind. The lady on the phone said the technician was running behind and would be there in the afternoon. Once again, no call, no show. Called again at 5pm for an update. Office closed at 4pm. No one called or showed up. Called a different company. Got the work done. Never heard back.

Dave came out yesterday as I turned yet another valve in my 30 year old house and lost hot water. Definitely a job beyond my expertise. Dave was awesome, worked hard with a good attitude even when curve balls were thrown his way. No one would want to be working that hard on a Friday night but he was pleasant all the way to the end and things look great. During cleanup I remarked that it was ok, I could tidy up tomorrow and he remarked that owner "Ryan" expects only the best and he left things pristine. Plumbing needs can be scary, Ryco is my go to whatever situation arises.

I’ve used Ryco Plumbing for the last 15 years in my home and business. They have always been friendly and honest. I do not hesitate to recommend them.
-
Mike from Ryco came out to our house to fix a shower and was quick, professional and nice. He seemed to know his stuff, and came back out to my house quickly when I had a follow up question. I wouldn't hesitate to call Ryco for my next plumbing project.

I bought a 1980s home with copper plumbing. Backyard hose was leaking and I woke up to find a lake in my backyard. Found these guys from their YouTube channel on how to repair a leaking hose bib. Incredibly easy to follow video but after looking at the corrosion I had on my existing leaking spout, I decided to contact them to come out and replace it.
Scheduling was easy and professional they gave me a temporary solution to tide me over for the weekend. Tate came out to take care of this and was very professional as well. I was also able to ask him questions about a corroded gate valve I discovered on a pipe leading to the water heater and he was able to replace the hose bib and 2 corroded valves for me in under an hour. I am very happy with the service this company provided. -
Great team! Were on call over the weekend and were able to get my leak stopped quickly. Thank you, Tate!

I asked for their services to install a tub. They gave us a price when we first asked stating it would be $95 for the first half hour and $95 every hour after. To my surprise when they sent the invoice they were charging me for 6 hours even though they were there for 4.5 hours. When I called they said they had decided (without my approval) to send an apprentice and therefore it would have taken 2 additional hours had they not sent him (speculation). When I called, the guy just chuckled about it while I was baffled I had to pay $190 extra because of an assumption on their part. Super disappointed, I was gonna use them to install a thermostat and service my AC but I guess I will be looking for a more professional company.
Update. On top of everything that happened the plumber decided to install the wrong valve to begin with so now I have to pay another plumber to put the correct one. Do yourself a favor and hire another company from the beginning. -
Total bait and switch from RYCO Plumbing and Michael. As a new homeowner I learned a valuable lesson, always get a written quote, especially from RYCO.
My first disappointment was, I thought I was getting a free quote on re plumbing our main valves outside the master bedroom. When the quote was pretty high I said we weren't going to be able to do that at this time. That is when Michael said there it was a service charge for coming out and giving a quote - they never told me over the phone about that. I don't remember exactly how much it was, but I believe it was over $100 because I remember thinking to myself, "well that is like 1/3 of what they were quoting for the work so if I owe him $100 for 10 minutes I might as well get the job done". He said it should only take him two hours. He quoted like under $100 in parts and labor would be the main cost.
They originally verbally quoted like $350 (I don't remember exactly) and he went out to work. I started getting nervous when hours and hours went by and I checked on him a few times because it was a hot August day in Arizona.
Finally Michael rang the doorbell and handed me the bill. It was $769.55!!! More than double than he originally quoted! I was shaking I was so mad - parts ended up being $232.50 alone - Labor was $498, then add on tax. I completely understand a job ending up taking longer than expected, that stuff happens. What I don't understand is I came out and brought him water multiple times and he never mentioned the parts more than doubling in price and I was home the entire time. Just knock on the door and give me an update, I'll probably give you the okay, but coming to me at the end of the job and shocking me like that is a total scam.
Luckily I had a coupon so the price went down to $697, that helped a little. To make matters worse, Michael drove off with my Harkins cup. I dislike that man very much. They also claimed they used all copper on my receipt no mention of PVC, but that was another lie. They spray painted it to look like copper and probably thought I wouldn't notice.
So before they claim they never serviced our home because it probably says I live in Sacramento area, we moved from Mesa in 2015 and I have a receipt to prove service. I was actually hesitant to write a review while still living in the house because we disputed this bill so much that the owner actually came over to examine the job and ended up getting into my husbands face. I give him credit for taking the time to come over, but he was completely unprofessional and actually scared me. -
Ferrin Ryco came recommended by someone in the property management business. I was happy with their initial visit that involved basic replacements in our acquisition built in the 90's.The service we received for the second round of work was far from exceptional. The new bathtub was leveled after I called to complain. My sink stopper did not work after the second service call. I asked the receptionist and a member of this family owned business to ask the owner to call me to discuss my concerns. The only additional communication I received was an invoice sent in error. The lack of follow up and poor attention to detail is truly disappointing.

Probably the worst company I’ve had to deal with. I was having issues with my air so they charged me $442.00 to replace a zone valve. Less than a year later it was broken again so they replaced it for me. Same thing happened again less than a year after that. EVERY appointment we scheduled they never showed up in the time frame they scheduled me. Every single time I had to call and ask what their ETA was and every time they said someone was on their way. No communication at all. Every time they sent a technician to my place I had to repeat my story to them since I don’t think they read the notes or sent someone that was experienced. Once I finally made a scene and was clearly upset is when the “manager” actually called me. Still nothing was done. Finally after a number of appointments I get a phone call saying they are sorry but they don’t think they are able to help me and they would refund me the $442.00. I still have yet to receive that refund. I usually don’t leave reviews but this was just ridiculous and they didn’t care or communicate at all. Terrible service.

If you call this company, make sure that their plumber is doing what you called them for.
We called them for cleaning sewer as our sewer line was getting plugged. We had another plumber stopped by to do initial cleaning. So water was passing at that point. Ferrin Ryco's plumber just ran the water for 10 mins and and did not want to run the sewer machine. He told us that we will not be charged.
Lo and behold, we got a $125 bill. Talking to the customer service repeatedly did not help. Initially, they said their service charge is for 1 hour service. But then the charged the same for half hour.
Our line got clogged within 5 days of their visit.
I finally called AAA Septic Service to clean out our grease trap in our restaurant which was actually causing the issue. I shall never again call this company for my house or store issues. This company does not follow their commitment. -
If I could give 0⭐, I would. 2 plumbers came to my home, didn't touch anything, yet are charging me for work never done. I called other plumbers in the area for free estimates, and they did more for free than the work put in by Ferrin Ryco. I am now being charged an incredible amount for nothing to show for it. Don't hire this company
Edit: supervisor Tate called me shortly after this review to come to an agreement since pricing was not discussed with me upfront. He was kind and understanding during the whole conversation and was willing to give a discount based on no pricing discussions beforehand. Still be careful if you are looking to hire them. -
I have used Ferrin Ryco four times now. The first time I purchased three jet assist toilets from Home Depot which they installed this was more than 3 years ago. Several months went by and one of the toilets became loose called they came back out and fixed then more time passed the same toilet came loose again, they came again and fixed it. Again the same toilet came loose again I didnt call. Instead one of the toilets started running and the tank was empty. I shut the water off. Called them, closed on Veterans Day, called Tuesday at 8 they said they would be here a 8 the following day and they were. Took the guy into the bathroom and when he looked at the tank with all the stuff in it for the jet assist flush he looked amazed. Said he didn’t have parts in his truck and needed to go to the parts warehouse. Several hours later the girl from the office called me and said the parts are not available and what do I want. I told her to let me get back to her. I took photos of my equipment and googled Glacier Bay finding All sorts of businesses in Phoenix selling parts and went to Home Depot talked to a guy in plumbing he fixed me up. I called Ferrin Ryco back and told her that parts were available she said her Manager was out of town but that she would have him call me in the morning. It is now 1:05PM past the morning and have still not heard from FERRIN RYCO. So now I know about them and it’s probably good that I never called them back to fix my loose toilet!

The plumber hired by our HOA/Management who came today to our condo was very rude to me & said I was harassing him because I asked how long the water was going to be off. My husband went down to follow up with him & he told my husband the men were nice to him but "all" the women "harassed" him. Very unprofessional. He must be having a bad day. The excellent news is the water is back on! The company motto "dont be a pycho..." on the side of their van is an interesting choice of words.

The rep I dealt with was very knowledgeable of the unit I was calling about to get installed. The pricing was good for the total installation. The tech that installed our unit was respectful and took care bringing the unit through the house to the install location. He was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job on the installation. I would recommend this company for future jobs.
-
Friendly, knowledgeable, responsive to an emergency situation and most importantly, very professional. I couldn't be more pleased with the installation.

Cleaning technician left half way through because they were obviously late for an afternoon appointment, and made up a fake excuse, and literally NO SHOWED my second appointment after giving them a second chance! WORST home services experience ever
