So I spoke to Jason who setup the appointment and I had read they are people that tell you the issue straight. And I can say its absolutely the case. After having someone do a "gas and go" they came out and not only repaired the heater but diagnosed the issues with the air conditioning. Bryce (sp??) was a polite gentlemen who outlined the issues, options and realistic outcomes. Jason followed up to review everything. It has given me the information I need to make the right decision and for that I really appreciate the way they do things. A rare breath of fresh air these days.

Mercury was truly fantastic! We realized our AC stopped working at 8 PM during a brutal heat wave. I sent a request for service to Mercury and a few of their competitors. Mercury got back to me within exactly 3 minutes and said they were finishing a job in our area and could swing by right then (otherwise they were booked 2 weeks out). We had a tech at our house within a half hour and a fix (with a few parts replaced) in less than 45 minutes. I was in shock and awe. We will definitely use them again!

Of course, our HVAC had to break during a heatwave. Ian is responsive, knowledgeable, and patient. He fixed our issue and also explained to me what the issues were. He wasn't pushy with any up-sales. Highly recommend and would use them again.

Needed to get A/C installed and contacted Mercury Heating & Air, and they were able to come by and install a new A/C a few days later. They did an excellent job and it’s working great! They were also very professional and punctual, which I really appreciated. Would definitely recommend them to anybody looking for HVAC services.

Our furnace started to work intermittently. These types of problems are always hard to diagnose as the problem always goes away when a technician arrives. I called Mercury because the owners have been in the business for a long time. I figured if I can get someone with years of experience rather than someone right out of tech school, I will have a better chance of them finding the problem. Ian came out right on time and within a few minutes properly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. If you want a furnace repair, I would highly recommend Mercury Heating and Air.

I had my condo tenant call me at 6:00PM during a cold spell, and said the Furnace wasn't working. I had planned to replace the 30 year old HVAC this Spring but needed help ASAP. I called Jason at Mercury and he said he could be out first thing the next morning. He showed up at 8:00 and diagnosed the problem and temporarily got the heat back on. I requested a proposal for a complete HVAC system. He was able to get the furnace in the next day (23rd of Dec.) before the holiday and then installed the AC and replaced the duct work, which was falling apart, on Jan 3-4. They were on time and kept me informed of the progress. This is the 3rd time I've had them replace HVAC systems for me at other locations and each time they have been amazing. I highly recommend them.

PS. I had an inspector come out at one location before I sold it and they even commented on how good of a job the installers did on the HVAC.

We were in need of a furnace/AC/ductwork upgrade and decided to go with a dual-fuel system so sent out for several quotes. A couple of local companies came out and without so much as looking under the house gave lowball quotes but no guarantees. It was obvious to me they didn't assess any issues they might run into and the bill would get jacked up.

Ian from Mercury came out and as part of the free quote crawled under the house, up into the attic, and over the course of an hour looked closely into everything from electrics to access. He gave a "no surprise" quote which wasn't the lowest but which, based on his real assessment of the job, was guaranteed not to go up. He talked me through the equipment he'd install and the internet confirmed they were excellent units, so I booked them to come out in a couple weeks to do a 4-day install.

Ian and Jason and their crew arrived on the day we had arranged and went right to work...setting up drop cloths and wearing boot covers to keep everything tidy while they worked. The whole crew was friendly and easy to have around our house for a few days. At the end of each day they cleaned up after themselves and left everything impressively neat.

It was a "no surprise" quote but there was a surprise...the planned expansion of the return vent couldn't happen due to roof architecture and this might affect the performance of the new units, but rather than say "well that's good enough" they came up with an alternate plan which involved installing a separate filter unit not included in the quote. I'm sure it cost them extra to install it but it was never mentioned AND there was no addition to the final bill. I paid exactly what they quoted.

Bottom line: they did a 4-day job in 3 days, were friendly and easy to work with, and had massive integrity around their "no surprise" guarantee. I think Ian, Jason, and their crew could give master classes in how to be professional contractors and on top of that they're a veteran-owned company so there's that, too.

UPDATE: there was a short in the system during a storm and Jason came out same day and fixed it for free under warranty. They stand behind their work!

They were terrific! They came out the day after I called. First took apart the old heater to see if it could be repaired. Nope, needed an expensive new part and they indicated that furnace was near the end of its expected life and that I could get a more efficient one. No hard sell, just here's how it would benefit over the years, and so I decided to get a more efficient new furnace. Very professional, came on time, made sure everything worked and cleaned up everywhere they worked. What more can you ask? They were great. And now my house is nice and toasty with a much quieter and efficient furnace, thanks!

We had our heater inspected for a service and were told that it had a crack and needed to be replaced. We were referred to Ian Hazelwood of Mercury Heating and Air by a friend who was very pleased with their work. Ian spent a lot of time explaining our situation and giving us several options to choose from for replacing our 24 year old heater and air conditioning systems. He scheduled the work and did it within a very short time frame. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism of Ian and his team.

My family chose Mercury for a new A HVAC install. That was about a year ago and they have been back a few times to help with minor things and we are glad we went with them and will continue to in the future. We went with an Air scrubber and HEPA filter and it is such a help durring this fire season! We are in the middle of many remodel projects, house, pool, yard, etc and we have had a share of bad contractors, thankfully Mecury was an A1 choice and money well spent. I would recommend Jason and Mercury to anyone.

Our furnace stopped working in early February and with two small kids who give any excuse to sneak into our bed we needed to get the heat back on ASAP. Ian responded right away to my husband's request for an assessment. He checked out the furnace and AC (which we've known is on it's last leg and needed replacement 2 years ago) and recommended that we replace both. 25 years old - they lived a good life. Knowing the hefty bill that comes with such a replacement, Ian set up another time to come by so both my husband and I could review the options in detail with him and he could explain his recommendations. I really appreciate the extra effort made to explain to us what we really need. A+ rating on customer service. We did have another contractor come out to take a look at the units and provide a quote. He was nowhere near as detailed and in the end, couldn't match the great deal Mercury Heating and Air gave us. What I appreciate the most was the fact that I never once felt or got the impression that Ian was trying to upsell us. Rather, he provided a professional recommendation for what best suits our use and would provide us the greatest value in the long run.
The no surprise guarantee is something I was pleasantly surprised to see they offer. Even when a couple of small issues came up during installation, Ian didn't bat an eye. The previous installer failed to seal the electrical box that was mounted flush to the siding of our house. 25 years of water leaking behind resulted in wood rot. In order to secure the new box, Ian's crew had to install some additional plywood backing. The extra touch they did to paint the plywood to match our siding speaks to their attention to detail and wonderful workmanship. Ian also included a new register when he saw what terrible shape ours was in and upsized our filters all for no extra charge. You can tell he just wants to make sure the installation is done right and the client is happy.
The install crew (Ian, Jason, and Jessie) were very professional, kept the work area clean, and wore boot covers whenever they entered the home.The installation caused very little disturbance; I was even able to work from home that day. I highly recommend Mercury Heating and Air, don't hesitate to call them!

We called Mercury because of a water leak inside our heater closet that may also be water damage to a neighboring wall. Jason from Mercury came and thoroughly inspected our heater, the area around the heater closet, and asked us questions to understand the timeline of this leak situation. Jason's customer service was excellent - he explained why the leak happened, and how it needed to be repaired. He was very detailed, and when he showed us exactly what he did, it looked great. Jason and Mercury Heating & Air gets my highest recommendation.

They came out early when we needed them the most. They diagnosed and then ordered and installed all in a 3 day span for our home HVAC system. The price was reasonable , they were quick, professional and we are happy to have cool air again. I recommend them .. thank you Ian and Jason.

Mercury Heating and Air came to our house today and I honestly have nothing bad to say. They arrived on time, they were friendly, thorough and fixed our system in one visit.

We had noise issue with our 30 years old heater and it finally it broke down on one chilly morning. Jason and Ian were able to come on the same day to check and they gave me options whether to replace the blower only or replace the whole furnace unit. They educated me the pros and cons of each option without being pushy at all. I finally decided to just replace the blower hoping that I could use the furnace for a bit longer.

Despite the furnace age, Ian was able to find a blower that would fit and he was able to install the blower very fast. My furnace has been running well and quiet since then. Thumbs up to Mercury Heating and Air!!

We thought we had an issue with our ductwork, and Ian did an outstanding job of walking us through the process. Ultimately, he did some minor maintenance on the furnace (that we hadn't even known to ask for), but he was very open about what he was looking for, and even took videos of what he saw in the attic to show us the state of our unit/ducts. He gave us very frank advice about the age of the unit and whether some of the options were worth the money. I know who I'm going to call the next time we've got an A/C or heating issue.

We were very pleased with our experience. Replaced condenser and heater, but not ducting. They were thorough in explaining options and the estimate, as well as being honest that replacing ducts, in our case, was notworthit. They, unfortunately for them, had to be here nearly 12 hours due to some issues with prior set up. Nothing was Mercury's fault. But they were troopers and maintained professionalism and friendliness throughout.

My husband and I are are so impressed with Juan and his team. We had a couple other companies come look at our broken AC unit, and from the moment I opened the door to talk to Juan, I felt at ease. He and the crew just seem like good, honest people. The work was done on time, and everyone was polite, helpful, respectful, and knowledgeable. The pricing was better than the other companies as well which is obviously a huge part of getting a new AC unit! We also had them install a Nest Thermostat and Rene Halo air purifier system. Highly recommend Mercury Heating and Air!

I had an amazing experience working with Mercury Heating and Air recently! They replaced our furnace and added an air-conditioner in our home in Moraga and I am very happy with their workmanship and professionalism! Right from the time I was shopping for quotes, Ian impressed me with his knowledge and attention to detail. He did a thorough job inspecting my systems and gave me a quote right on the spot. He was very responsive and genuine during the whole process and never tried to upsell me. Scheduling the work was a breeze and they were ready to come out within a week to get the job done.

On the day of the work, Ian and Jason came on time and worked very hard to finish the job in a timely manner. Also, they worked around my home very responsibly and cleaned up thoroughly both during and after the work. They had to shut off the gas during the installation, after which our older water heater couldn't be lit. Ian went out of his way to replace the thermocouple of the water heater and turned it back on for us.

Another thing I noticed is that they did not even ask for an advance/deposit before the work and only requested payment after they had the systems up and running. I am so glad I chose them! If you ever need heating or cooling services, please consider these guys, they are the most honest, knowledgeable and best in this business!

These are my go-to guys for any HVAC issues are our home. They've been out a few other times to inspect and fix various issues but this most recent job they replaced our entire system in 2 days with a new 2 zone system. Ian is super knowledgeable and gave us a few options. We really appreciate his design considerations given most contractors only want to replace with a new larger unit and call it a day. Definitely recommend anyone looking for a responsive, reliable, and experienced HVAC contractor.
