I incidentally found out my water heater, which was originally installed in the 90s, was completely rusted on the inside. I did some research and found that MAC's was a local carrier of Bradford White water heaters, which are American made and high quality. I called for an estimate/eval appointment and Steve came out the next week. He is personable and friendly and gave me an easy to understand estimate and his honest recommendations. As a single female homeowner, I felt very comfortable and never felt as if he was trying to upsell me (which other contractors and businesses have done in the past).

He gave me several options and even told me about the SMUD rebates ide be eligible for. I opted to convert from gas to an electric hybrid for it's efficiency, cost, the fact that it will cool the garage a bit, no pilot light and the smud incentive rebate.

On the installation date Ed and another technician (who's name I cannot remember, I'm so sorry) arrived promptly at 8am as scheduled. They were equally friendly and personable. We talked about some of our outdoor house projects and they got right to work.

We had painted the garage and asked that they let us know when the old water heater was removed so we could paint behind it and without asking they did it for us! I even, without thinking turned the water on while they were working and got water everywhere, they just politely reminded me not to use the water and helped me clean up a bit.

When they went up to the attic to do electrical, right away they noticed the HVAC system had some issues. I know nothing about HVAC, but remember him showing me the photos and basically the coils are rusted, there's coolant leaking, it's falling apart and we are breathing in particles of fiber glass. The week prior I was just thinking the HVAC was probably 20-30 years old and needed replacing. I called the office to make an appointment for an HVAC Assessment and got one for the next week, but our technician called Steve and sent him the photos. On the phone the three of us were able to decide on a new system and establish an install date ASAP due to the condition and their very packed schedule coming up this summer. Of course they told me all about the smud incentive rebates so they were able to save me quite a bit of money changing from gas to electric hybrid. Smud offers a $3900 rebate.

I'm so thankful they noticed because with summer coming up, my HVAC could have failed at a very unfortunate time. Overall, I am so happy with the fast, quality, professional work they've done. And it's a bonus that they're local. I am a lifelong customer and cannot recommend them enough!

And one other thing! Our technician also offered to add 220 and 110 plugs for our garage/outdoor projects. He added room in our service panel. He didn't have to do that. He went the extra mile.

Had a series of issues with our thermostat over the past year . Of the 3 technicians from different companies, Joseph was the only one to actually look at our HVAC system and figure out the underlying issue. He did a great job repairing our HVAC unit.

Your office called and asked to reschedule our appt. with Steve. Steve showed up on time, apparently not knowing this appt was rescheduled. At that point I told him that we had decided on another company.
He was confused as was I. He was polite.
This apparent miscommunication and the fact that you have contacted me twice for a review when we didn’t have the appt doesn’t reflect well on your business.

Had water heater and HVAC system converted to heatpump. Steve the owner of the company was the one who suggested what my house needs and had a good price for both systems. It's such a nice feeling to have the owner of the company come-in and analyze and estimate your needs.

Water heater and HVAC systems were installed by Nate and Ed. Both did the job impeccably well and at a professional and perfectionist level. These two gentlemen are highly experienced and highly recommended. They made sure the install were perfect - do it once so no issues later. Even the inspector told me that he never had issues with these guys and does the inspection only once for all their installs.

Ed and Nate also improved the duct work, raised the air exchange unit and is now better protected from dust and elements up the attic and corrected the water evap line pipings of my system and now my house is heating evenly with no cold spots. Can't wait to have this system in summer and see the electricity savings.

I highly recommend Mac's Plumbing Heating and Air and I will be a lifetime customer from now on.

Joseph was so friendly and professional. He arrived at the scheduled time and was very knowledgeable about our system. All the staff from Mac’s is customer orientated and friendly.

From the initial call with Cameron to schedule the appointment for a unit inspection to the actual appointment, Mac’s Plumbing employees and owner provided excellent customer service. Steven MacDonald is very thorough, knowledgeable, and informative about each job. He took time to explain every detail of the inspection and the suggested improvements. He was friendly with my family and fur babies. The estimate was fairly priced and they scheduled the improvements quickly. When Luis and Edward came to do the improvements, I was impressed with their professionalism, kindness, and efficiency in completing the improvements so quickly. Overall, I am extremely pleased with Mac’s Plumbing and will recommend them to all my friends and family.

Had them come out to try to take advantage of some of the SMUD rebates (they’re a qualified contractor with SMUD). Unfortunately I wasn’t a good candidate for the heat pump water heater replacement because of where my water heater was located, but I was given great advice on next steps and some rough numbers for cost. He wasn’t pushy at all and was super knowledgeable! I’ll be calling them for plumbing or hvac work I need in the future!

I was very impressed with the plumbing job they did for me. It only took him 1.5 hours or so and he replaced my piping outside. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good plumber. :)

What a great family company from estimate to installation of my new heatpump waterheater. They take care of all rebates available and Nate and Gabe's installation and expertise has proven to be perfect.

Mac’s Heating and Air did an excellent job! Steve, Ed, and Gabe were all professional, skilled, and went above and beyond to get the work done right. Our custom home has a built-in closet for a 75-gallon water heater, and since the new models are larger in diameter, it was questionable whether one would fit. Steve and Ed carefully removed the frame and door, using their experience and knowledge to make sure everything was installed properly. Gabe did a fantastic job replacing the sheetrock and reinstalling the door so the closet looks great again. We’re very grateful for their teamwork and would highly recommend Mac’s Heating and Air to anyone!

This past week Ed Young of Mac's Plumbing performed the seasonal air conditioner checkup on our unit and also flushed the water heater. Ed was very professional and friendly. We have done business with Mac's Plumbing for years and they installed our HVAC, water heater, whole house fan, attic fan and circulation pump. We highly recommend them.

My HVAC system failed during a recent cold spell. Mac’s technician, Joseph Chavez diagnosed the system issue, explained in non technical terms what was needed and had my system up and running the next day. Joseph was extremely courteous and friendly. Mac’s Plumbing Heating and Air replaced my entire HVAC system in 2021 as well as my water heater. Both units are heat pumps. Any further concerns or maintenance will be performed by Mac’s. I highly recommend their services.

Great prompt service at my elderly mothers home. Another company had tried to scam her into a total system replacement. Steve did a through inspection, took pictures of the inside of the system, took the time to explain what needed to be done and what didn't need to be done. He answered all of our questions and provided great customer service. We will definitely be using Mac's from here on out

I chose Steve from Mac’s to replace our water heater and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. From start to finish, Steve and his team provided us with excellent service and professionalism. There was a manufacturers malfunction with the new water heater. There was just days until Thanksgiving and Steve made sure we had hot water.
