We’ve never experienced such poor customer service. We hired goettl to replace a broken water heater that had leaked in our garage. We specifically asked the plumber if we should be concerned about water seeping into the drywall, and he assured us it wasn’t a problem, recommending we simply let it air dry. Trusting his advice, we went ahead with the installation of the new water heater.

Within three days, we discovered mold in the walls. After a mold inspection, we were told that the water heater would need to be temporarily removed so the mold could be properly treated. To be clear, we didn’t expect the plumbing company to handle the mold issue, as we knew it stemmed from the old water heater’s leak. However, they should never have rushed the installation and given us advice that led to further damage. Had the plumber been transparent about the potential water damage, we would have addressed the issue before proceeding with the installation.

Instead, they hurried through the job, and when the mold became an issue, they quoted us an additional $5,000 just to move the water heater we had literally just paid $4,000 to have installed. We asked them to temporarily move the heater free of charge, given that their bad advice, but they essentially told us to get lost.

As a young family, we feel exploited. This company refused to take responsibility for their poor advice, and their communication was horrendous. They avoided our calls and forced us to deal with a frustrating chain of customer service. We deeply regret not doing more research and finding a trustworthy company that cares about its customers.

Choose your plumber wisely—this company is unreliable and only focused on maximizing their profit at your expense.

Just hired Goettl Plumbing to do a routine maintenance on my sewer in the coastal Oceanside area. They worked with me on a window of time. One of most unethical businesses I’ve come across in 50 years. First note that they bought Pacific Drain to boost their ratings. And note that many of the recent reviews are written by people that have only written a few reviews on this site, meaning they are suspect.

Our experience and many of the reviews on yelp tell the same story. Came to fix a clogged toilet and said it couldn’t be fixed, that the main line was clogged and wanted $14,000 to replace. Sent them away after paying an exorbitant $320 for their visit. Called Burtech Plumbing and they quickly unclogged the drain at the toilet for $89. I asked them about replacing the main drain since Goettl noted it could fail anytime. They checked and said it should be replaced but no urgency and it would cost about $4500, one- third the quote from Goettl.

So Goettl didn’t fix what we called them for and lied about where the line was clogged. I contacted the BBB, filed a complaint and Goettl did refund the $320. There are lots of good, honest plumbing services out there, but Goettl is not one of them.

Overall I’m quite satisfied with the plumbing line clean out today, even after a delay from the previous evening appointment. James was friendly, efficient, and also shared (by video) what our pipe looked like afterwards. I was given bids on future work by his supervisor, but no pressure to make an immediate decision.

Mike arrived to our appointment on time and went straight to work. He was able to service our home and make recommendations for future projects.

Mike is kind and his knowledge of homes in our area helped to make a professional assessment of the issue and any sense of urgency to do repairs.

I found it really easy to set an appointment and when James and James arrived, they were very polite and professional. My husband worked with them and was very impressed which is a high-bar because he works with a lot of construction folks. They found the belly in the line causing the blockage and took care of it quickly. I highly recommend Goettl and hope that everyone gets to work with James and James or other staff that are just as great.

Super high quality service. Bryant arrived super fast and quickly cleared my totally clogged kitchen sink. I called around noon, he arrived by 1:30 and by 2:30 I was using my kitchen again. Turns out you cannot put pasta down a garbage disposal. Bryant was great! He was knowledgeable, personable, explained everything clearly and quickly cleared up my drain. Definitely the place to go.

Technician was very nice and personable. Know his stuff. However, when the quote came, i quickly ended the appointment. They wanted $1100 to replace a bathroom sink faucet and i was providing the hardware!! Worst case scenario it is a 3 hour job. That is almost $400 per hour. That is criminal. Who is paying $400 per hour for a plumber?

Andres and James did a remarkable job. They avoided a deeply buried irrigation pipe and had to dig deeper than expected to replace our sewer pipe. Goettl did not charge more than their original estimate. I highly recommend them,

We had a great experience with this plumber. James, the technician, was amazing and really took time to sort out the issue we were having. We had a clogged toilet. He ended up having to pull it and snake the drain. He made the process very quick and easy, he gave us a lot of options as well for plumbing under our home. We will definitely use them again.

Routine AC service after a 4 year lapse. Angel was on time, extremely pleasant and generous in sharing all needed info on my service results. The detail he went into was impressive and I have 2 items to put on my fix list in the near future with Goettl. He is a great emissary for the brand, and his approach was “how would I do this job if it were for my own family”. I welcome him back for any needed service.

Sean was a literal life saver and helped me out with my Mini Split Remote, I was in a panic looking for one as my Airbnb guest left with it. I contacted the company and they were very kind and understanding with my urgent problem. They are honest and kind people, I highly recommend them!

Wow! Alex at Goettl was very helpful, thorough and had my sink working perfectly in 20 minutes time. He was tidy, courteous and also provided me with tips on how to keep my kitchen sink draining optimally with steps I can take on my own if this happens again on a late Friday evening. We’ve used this company for years. Always on point & always very professional. They explain everything very well. Our house has had many plumbing issues & they’re always very sympathetic to us. Pricing is great. Our tech (Bryant) this time had bad news & he was very compassionate. We love Wayne he’s always a huge help.

The sewer pipe from our home to the city sewer line was originally installed in the 40s. It’s made out of tar paper called Orangeburg (cast iron was being diverted to the war effort). It’s served us much longer than expected. But root intrusions and general degradation caused a portion of it to collapse. The folks at Pacific Drain came out and quickly repaired the collapsed section. But they took it an extra step. They repaired our ancient sewer pipe by installing a sturdy epoxy liner inside of it, in under one day. This avoided the disruption of digging up the old pipe and replacing it. Now the pipe is good for another 25 years. Amazing! Their staff did an excellent job, were a pleasure to work with, and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Pacific Drain for sewer pipe repair.

Goettl has great sales and customer service. They were able to install a new toilet within 24 hours. We had a tough spot that required lots of different measurements.

This company came out to our area a week ago and put in a new AC unit for one of the residents. The employees were two very young technicians and they totally trashed the decorative vegetation in the area. This shrubbery had been planted at least a decade ago and they totally destroyed it. No accountability, no restoration for the damages they did, no apologies. Terrible impression you guys left here. I am uploading photos of how your employees left the area.

Jordan was our technician who served our plumbing issues. He was very knowledgeable and kind as he helped our situation. We will certainly be using them again and asking for Jordan to be our Plummer. Were very happy 😊 plus we got this cool swag!!
