After getting our flooring demo’d, we noticed a strange sewer smell coming from the kitchen and were pretty stressed as new homeowners thinking we might have a pipe or slab leak. I highly recommend VIP Plumbing Services, these last two days Lighthouse Community Church and Preschool had our sewer pipes lined. The crew Miguel, Miguel and Jorge plus another worked well together. Overall they kept the site clean and safe during the whole process! They cut through the concrete, put the lining into the existing pipe after multiple cleaning cycles inside the pipe, filled the hole back with dirt and cemented the surface!

The main issue was a lack of upfront clarity. The initial quote of $2,100 did not specify that it was a cash price. Only after we asked whether paying cash would change the price were we told that $2,100 is the cash price and that paying by credit card adds 4%. This was not mentioned initially, which felt misleading to us.

When we raised this concern, the contractor became defensive and stated: “I’m not rejecting you. Anyone who insults me with dishonesty doesn’t deserve my services. I pride myself on honesty and transparency. I treat all my customers with respect and kindness. I am one of the kindest contractors you will come across. But for you to question my honesty is an insult.”

Transparency and clear communication are essential in good business practice. Any professional contractor should clearly state upfront: “$2,100 cash, +4% if paying by card.”
