This is the fourth time that I've hired Barnett Plumbing & Water Heaters to perform work at my home. I have been consistently impressed with the quality of their work and Collin's work today was no exception. Making the appointment this morning was quick and easy. They recognized my phone number and had all of my contact information at their finger tips. I received a text early in the agreed upon window of time when Collin was leaving his previous job. We quickly came up with a good solution for my needs and Collin got right to work replacing my water heater. He was efficient and quickly performed the work. The finished installation looks perfect. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that Collin even took the initiative to move my tool cabinet back into place.

I purchased a new Rheem Performance Platinum water heater from Home Depot, and Jesse T of Barnett Plumbing delivered and installed it expertly. Jesse arrived promptly, removed my old water heater, and performed a very clean installation of the new water heater. Jesse was friendly and knowledgeable, clearly explained what he was doing, and did not cut any corners. I am sure the new installation will pass code inspection. I am very pleased with his work and I recommend him highly.

I just have a lot of trust in these guys. They seem like they genuinely want to help and not just after a quick buck. They also do a professional job and are respectful to your property. They may not be the cheapest option, but they aren't the most expensive, either, and just having that peace of mind that things will be done with integrity is worth it.

Our water heater died. (Short aside; 1.5 yrs ago, they came out when it died before and told us we could extend the lifespan a little bit by replacing the thermocouple ourselves, which was very cheap and easy. We appreciated the honesty, so they were the only plumbers we called this time around). Anyway, this was expected. However, since we are in between rebate programs, they offered to loan us a water heater for a deposit, which will then be applied to our new heater and installation once the next rebate program kicks in. Great idea and much appreciated!

As they were installing the loaner --- we have 80+ yr old pipes in our house, and so, inevitably --- one nipple broke off when they were trying to carefully remove a fitting. They informed me of it, apologized (although, it wasn't their fault), called the owner for guidance, and then ran to the hardware store and got a new, beefy fitting (in the photo), and didn't charge me extra for it.

Rob and Max were very pleasant and didn't talk down to me while explaining things. Professional yet not robotic, friendly, and made me laugh, which is nice when you don't have hot water!

Jesse was great, he early in the morning at 9:30 and said he would arrive about 50 minutes since he was driving from Livermore, he arrived in time and took a look at my old water heater setup and took the time to check my water pressure and found it was high at 100PSI and recommended changing water pressure regulator valve since it should be set between 50PSI to 75PSI.
He then went through the options for changing water heater and explained each estimate and patiently answering all our questions. He showed us quotes for Gas water heater and electric heat
pump hybrid which are more energy efficient. We ended up deciding to go with the electric hybrid option since it was close to the same price due to CA rebates which will kick in October as the gas heater so for right now, they provided Gas Water heater until our hybrid heat pump water heater gets installed sometime at the end of Oct.
I enjoyed talking to Jesse and he was very professional and patient.
Now just waiting for new water heater in October.

Jesse brought new water heater and did a great job installing, afterwards he told me how to maintain it and explained how long it would take to heat up first time. He did a great job. Attached is photo of the finished job.

I had a great experience with Francis from Barnett Plumbing. Very fast and knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend Barnett Pumbing and Francis was the best!

We had a heater failure so we were definitely in an emergency. We called ~8 other plumbers and all worked at pace 10 times slower than Barnett.

Here is how fast Barnett team works:
1) Discuss specs on the phone and signed quote at 8am
2) Tank showed up at 9:45am
3) Finished installation 3:30pm
4) Rebate paperwork processed online the same day!!

Phil can see pictures of your heater and know exactly what you need. Mason in the office processed rebate in lightning speed. Sean in the field works fast and clean. The whole Barnett team is excellent. We strongly recommend them.

Barnett Plumbing sent Jesse the technician to our house promptly at 8am. He evaluated our leaking water heater and gave an estimate with several options. Jesse explained everything in a clear and friendly manner which inspired my trust. He did an excellent job. The water heater was installed better than the prior one. He was detail oriented, neat and tidy. I would absolutely recommend Barnett plumbing and specifically Jesse again. First photo is old water heater. 2nd is new and improved Jesse installed water heater.

I'm thrilled to be using Barnette plumbing. I feel confident that under Sean's guidance, our transition from a gas water heater to a climate-friendly heat pump water heater will go well. Sean spent time with me to explain the process which I easily understood and walked me through the installation process.

It's nice to know that Barnette plumbing has streamlined the rebate process to make sure they're customers get the most out of the incentives that are available. No stress, no challenging paperwork obstacles for us makes this switch easy.

Unhappy with the $600 charge to replace the pipe next to water valve. Feels like price gouging. .

It was $90 to come and provide an estimate with this applied to the job if done. I’ve used Barnett Plumbing a lot in the past and they were fair. Thought they would be fair on this job. Apparently not.

Collin P. provided me with clear information and options when he came to our house to evaluate and quote replacing our 17 year-old gas fired water heater with a new Rheem 120 Volt heat pump water heater. On installation day Collin P. and Sean C. together did an excellent job (additionally difficult as the water heater is located in our tiny basement) with exceptional care of our hose. It was a complicated upgrade from our old gas water heater to this new fully electric heat pump and Collin did it all with very good, clean workmanship. We love our new 120 Volt electric Rheem heat pump water heater! Thank you very much Collin and Sean.

9/5/24 update - Alberto G. came over this morning to clear one item the San Jose city inspector wasn’t satisfied with. Alberto was excellent- he scoped out the issue, decided on his solution and quickly and professionally got it done. I love these Barnett Plumbing and Water Heaters team!!!

Woke up to a broken water heater and a partially flooded garage. Barnett Plumbing was the quickest to respond with a quote and by 1:30 the same day they had completely installed a new water heater. Absolutely worth the cost!

Barnett Plumbing installed our water heater today, 9/5/24. Would highly recommend them for anyone needing a replacement. Ryan was professional, friendly and did outstanding work and finished within the time frame he promised. Highly skilled plumber. Really nice work.

Alex C. arrived promptly as scheduled before 9 AM. Our old gas water heater was leaking and sediment filled the bottom so he was unable to drain the water heater using the existing drain valve. He was able to remove the gas control valve and install a temporary drain valve without spelling any water on the floor to drain the water heater. He removed the gas lines to the water heater & dryer and capped it off.

He installed a 50 gal Rheem Hybrid Electric Heat Pump Water Heater but for some unknown reason it didn't work properly. He called the office and made arrangements for another Barnett Plumbing technician to bring out another Rheem Hybrid Electric Heat Pump Water Heater within a hour. Alex disconnected all the connections and removed the failed water heater and installed the replacement one. He had to wait 45 minutes before turning on the power to the water heater since the replacement one was lying on it's side instead of upright when it was delivered. The installation was finally completed shortly before 6:30 PM.

Alex did a great job installing the heat pump water heater, everything was neat, clean, and well done despite having to install 2 water heaters because the first one didn't work.

I would highly recommend Barnett Plumbing & Water Heaters. They send a reminder text the day before the appointment and send a text with a photo of the technician when he's on his way. They did the same when they scheduled a technician to give me a free estimate for various water heater installations. They are very well organized and responds to emails and phone calls very quickly. Very responsive and good communication.
