Updating my review. We lost another tree and they refused to take my calls, texts. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

I wrote the review below before I had to deal with their customer service department. My landscaping was done last fall, and three plants and a tree died over the winter. After contacting the company, they stated that they would provide a refund for the plants that had died. I have waited for over 2 weeks for the refund, and they no longer return my calls, nor do they respond to text messages. The follow-up service is dreadful. All good if your plants survive, but I lost a $400 tree, which I will likely have to replace myself. I would be nervous to recommend them now.

We had a great experience with Renovations. They installed a waterwise garden in our front yard. The quote was competitively priced, and working with the garden designer was easy, although a site visit by the designer would have been great. Donnie was very accommodating, as we had several changes once the old beds were removed. Donnie and his team were very courteous and easy to work with. We would definitely recommend them and use them again for landscaping.

This company took our money and did not complete our landscaping and patio job. They went MIA in the middle of the project, and did not deliver materials we had already paid for, nor finish the work. In order to not leave our yard and patio in a disastrous state, we had to come out of pocket to the tune of thousands of dollars to buy materials we'd already paid for, and to pay their own subcontractors directly to finish the work (which Renovations had already charged us for). Additionally, they charged us for trees and plants they did not deliver, and 80% of the ones they did deliver died. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

Renovations Landscaping Inc. is the best and I highly recommend them to anyone that wants honesty, quality, fairness and promptness out of their landscaping contractor. Ben and his team address all of your needs and concerns throughout the entire project. Renovations Landscaping Inc. go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction!

Ben was very responsive and handled everything in a professional manner. We had 8 other landscaping companies not even bother to show up. The price was actually much better as well, compared to the other quotes we received. Our yard looks great and my kid and dog now play outside every day. I would recommend this company to my neighbors.

We used Renovations to design and install a brick paver patio, cedar pergola and numerous trees, bushes and plants in the backyard of our newly constructed house in March, 2022. Their crew was competent and hardworking, and their attention to detail on the brick patio and pergola—and with the paver steps—met my high expectations. I felt their quality and price produced a very high value. And, they have diligently followed up afterwards to fix small things, replace trees that died (we had excessive prolonged heat), and to generally ensure our total satisfaction. Ben is a true professional and easy to work with—although sometimes a bit tardy in responding. We have recommended Renovation to our neighbor, and they just completed an absolutely stunning transformation in their back yard. We became aware of Renovation from another neighbor who was pleased with their work in 2021.

10/14/22: UPDATE. Our tree has been replaced and all warranty work is now complete. Renovations hired a new employee, Nicole, and she is fantastic! She was true to her word and everything occured as she said it would. She also reached out each time Renovations came over to follow up and ensure all work was completed satisfactorily. It was a lengthy ordeal (until Nicole became involved) to have the warranty work complete but it seems they now have better processes in place.

9/2/22: UPDATE: Unfortunately, the follow through with warranty work has not occured. We realized in early fall that the tree planted in our front yard had several branches and the main trunk cut off. To be fair- no one could tell until the leaves fell off. I contacted the company in early November '21 (our project was completed end of September '21) and provided pictures of the tree. I was told to touch base in the spring when they begin warranty work. I reached out again in April was told I was on the tree warranty list. I heard from Matt in May and he confirmed replacement wouldn't be an issue. After that, I didn't hear anything again until I reached out several ways at the end of June (I emailed, texted and tried facebook). Manuel finally came out and verified the tree needed to be replaced in July. I received a date and time from him for completion and no one showed up or called. I tried reaching out when no one showed up and again, no answer. I reached out to Matt who said my tree was on hold and he would have a replacement date for me that day (which I never received). I checked in with Matt multiple times in August and on the 19th he said he was on his way to pick out the tree (which was supposedly already on hold for us in July). I was told at that time, the tree was secured but not the crew, and a new crew was being hired. It is now September and the tree still has not been replaced. I made them aware of the issue in November 2021 and have been told several times I am at the top or next on the list. I reached out again this week and have not heard back from anyone. Pictures of the tree, after the leaves fell, are below. I am very happy with the rest of the work they did (patio, backyard, stone work, mulch, etc.) and thought the front tree would be an easy fix. Warranty work and communication are a major issue with Renovations. I will update my review if the tree ever gets replaced.

September 2021- We used Renovations Landscaping to update our existing yard framework. They added junipers, replaced a dying tree in our front yard, added flagstone steps in the front and back yard and replaced rock with mulch in several places. They also added three boulders to the landscaping and turned a rock void into a beautiful, usable, paver patio. They were very easy to work with and made sure every detail was done to our satisfaction. We are very happy with the finished product.

We went with Renovations after having two companies fail to come out give quotes, and a couple of others quote way higher than expected. Renovations quote was in our expected range and they seemed like a very professional and responsive company even from the beginning. They extended our small deck, doubling it's size, and poured an ~800 sq ft concrete patio below for us. Everyone that we interacted with was helpful and they completed the work when they said they would. I've waited a couple of months to post this review so I could thoroughly check out all aspects of our new deck and patio. Everything has been great. The deck and patio are exactly as we imagined, maybe even better. The workmanship is great and the patio was poured well. Our only small gripe was early on they never provided a perfect design that matched our conversations during the planning phases, but despite that we worked with Ben the owner, and the project managers for the deck and patio in person to make sure everything would be built as desired, and sure enough it was completed exactly as expected. Sp our only concern was overcome by their grrat communication with us. I would recommend then to anyone and use them again if we have any other projects.

Ben's crew replaced 2 gravel paths with concrete, extended our patio and bordered out 2 garden beds. It took longer than expected but the end result was worth the wait. His crew respected my property and cleaned up after themselves. Highly professional work.

Really liked our final product that we got from them. The design process was a little clunky and we ended up adding things as we went, but we loved our project manager, Matthew. Once he took over, I knew we were in good hands. We added a stamped concrete patio (they really helped us find the right color combo), a new retaining wall, a side walkway, new sod, new sprinklers and new greenery. They were very efficient and worked super hard to get a giant project done quickly and with professional quality. Our before and after pictures are amazing!

We have used the Renovations Landscaping team for two different projects and had great experiences both times. In 2021 they helped us design and install a large stamped concrete patio and pathway. They had to tear out builder grade stairs, work with our drainage and move around a lot of dirt and rock to make it work. Their team did such a great job - the end result is beautiful and they did it so quickly. We recently called them back to landscape the rest of our yard. Ben was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The quote and design process was much easier than many other companies we reached out to and pricing felt fair and reasonable. I had a vision and their team helped bring it to life. They had to tear out the existing sod and move lots of mulch, and they were able to work the existing mulch into the design. They worked off of an existing sprinkler, brought in cobble, edging, laid new sod, and planted shrubs, grasses and perennials and tied all of them into a drip. It took them less than 2 days to complete the landscaping and they got us on the books the same week as our initial estimate. I cannot wait to see what the space looks like when the plants grow. We are so happy with the end result and recommend this team to everyone we know!

We are so pleased with the way our landscape project turned out in our backyard. We had a large project, over a 1/4 acre that we got several bids on. Renovations put together a great bid and design. They accommodated some changes we made during the project with ease. They were timely and the crew was meticulous. Their attention to detail was apparent and they took great pride in their work. Not only do I recommend them but plan on using them again for future projects.

Paid these clowns in 2022 and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a contractor. Their crew was unprofessional—leaving trash all over the job site, food from their lunches scattered daily, and the street in front of my house a mess for over four months. What was supposed to be a two-month job dragged into six months. They even built a retaining wall improperly.

The owner, Ben, doesn’t know the first thing about landscaping. He’s basically just a middleman with zero respect or authority over his own crews. The lack of professionalism and accountability was shocking.

I honestly can’t believe they are still in business. Avoid this company at all costs.

Hughes Landscaping is the best! We’ve used them for a variety of landscaping projects, weed prevention, weed pulling and lawn fertilizing. They’re always professional and do an amazing job each time.

The crew from Hughes did a terrific job cleaning up our pine needles and trimming under all our trees. They worked hard and were very professional. Highly recommended!

Matt and his crew did an amazing job with our project, taking a neglected and overgrown yard to an inviting, welcoming space with new plants and landscaping. I really appreciated the quality of their work and careful eye for detail- they deliver a great standard.

Matt is incredible! He has such a vision for transforming landscapes. Our backyard had no hope of growing grass because of our two dogs and some poor drainage, and he completely redesigned the whole space! Now we have a great mix of turf, mulch and rock that adds dimension and usability where we didn't have it before. Our neighbors have given us so many compliments on how the new backyard looks. I can't recommend him enough!

Hughes Landscaping came out on time when the job was scheduled and did a great job! When the job was almost complete I asked them to correct one small item and they took care of it immediately. Overall the project looked great!

Matt and his crew do excellent work. They beautifully installed a large outdoor fountain, designed the greenery around the base as well as other areas of the yard. He and his crew are very knowledgeable, professional and do very clean work.

Matt at Hughes Landscaping took the time to really hear what we were looking for. He asked the right questions, made us think about how we use our space, and came back with ideas that felt spot on. Nothing felt generic or rushed. His suggestions were smart and thoughtful, and it was clear he brings a lot of experience to the table. The whole process felt easy, and we are genuinely excited to keep working with him.

Very disappointed! They never showed up to aerate and never called to tell me they needed to reschedule. They also said they would call me to finalize the date to mow then they showed up unannounced and did a terrible job. The edging is poorly done and my grass in the backyard doesn’t even look cut. There’s still patches of tall grass all over and he broke my tree moving my trampoline.
