LATEST UPDATE:
Cousins sent out a supervisor Kyle to check out the problems and discovered some shoddy patchwork at the bottom of the handler by a previous technician. I don't care as long as it got fixed and Kyle did fit it. He also sealed the upper part of the plenum in the attic . Time will tell if the problems are fixed but cousins response and honoring the warranty on their service and Installation has been amazing. Very appreciative.

UPDATE:
I leave this update in hopes that cousins remedies this issue. It's been 4 months since Installation and we have water falling down the front of the intake box which i chalked ho to condensation from it being in the garage . But now we have mold growing on all the joints where the plenum meets the handler and cool air blowing into my attic. They did not seal this thing properly . I've had nothing but problems since installation . Everything before that point was great . I need someone other than a tech to come out here and figure this out .

I was skeptical going with a big box company over my usual AC service guy but boy am I glad I did. From start to finish the experience was smooth and organized. Donald came and gave us their estimate which beat the competition . On top of that they were the ONLY company that came out and actually looked at our ducts to properly size our unit . Turns out our 20 year old unit was too large for our home at least by today's standards . Donald's in depth knowledge and availability to answer all my questions was the determining factor for us over the other 3 estimates I received. Installation was smooth and so far so good with the unit! Even the permitting process was super organized. Will be setting up a service contract with them in the future for sure . Extremely pleased so far! A++++++

This is my honest review (both positive and negative) of my experience with Cousins Air from 12-23-25 to 1-11-26.

Positive: They send an email with details and photo of technician coming out so you know who to expect. They are on time. Technicians are very kind and professional. The office staff is also kind and professional.

Negative: First technician misdiagnosed the problem saying it was electrical related, not AC related therefore I had an electrician come out based upon Cousins assessment. The electrician determined it was not electrical but the AC unit itself. I asked Cousins to reimburse me for the cost for the electrician since it was their error and they did. Second technician came out since they had not resolved the AC issue. He was very thorough and spent a lot of time checking things and determined the unit had no Freon. Quoted over $700 for Freon but adviced that if I purchased the yearly service contract for $220, the Freon would only be $500+. I did that since I planned to service my unit within the next year. Freon was put in and I was all set. The next week was very cold weather so my AC did not kick on until about a week later however the compressor outside, (same issue) again would not come on, just the air handler inside. Called Cousins and third technician came out. He also spent a lot of time checking and determined ALL the Freon that I had just paid for, had leaked out. He said I would need to schedule a “leak check” that would cost $770 just to find the leak and then the cost to repair the leak would be determined at that time. When they emailed the quote and request for approval signature, I had several questions about their disclaimers so I called and asked for someone to call me back as I wanted to thoroughly understand what would transpire before I signed and moved forward. The girl who answered the phone said she would send an email to the dept and ask someone to call me. I waited and waited and waited but unfortunately never received a call back. The only call I received was 6 weeks later (a few days ago) leaving a message asking if I wanted to schedule my “routine maintenance check up”. Thankfully I had already moved forward and found another AC company. The owner came out, determined there were three problems…but there was not a leak. (So thankful I didn’t pay $770 for leak detection). He ordered the parts which were under warranty since my unit is only two years old. My AC has been working beautifully since then. Sadly I wasted $220 in a maint contract with Cousins (and $500 in Freon) as I won’t be using them for fear of any additional issues.
