Water Damage Restoration reviews in Chicago, Illinois

Had some water damage coming from the ceiling of my utility closet down into the corresponding wall and hardwood floor. Within 12 hours of submitting a request online, Adan swiftly came in the morning to investigate the extent of the water damage and a plan for remediation. In no time at all they had a team out led by Angel to cut out the wet drywall, put in a drying system for the floor and carefully remove any of the fiberglass insulation. I have really bad allergies and am impacted by poor air quality, so it was nice to see that for this part of the work they used a commercial air scrubber. After this they put in a few fans and a large dehumidifier. It took several days to fully dry out, but every day Angel or Adan were in contact to check on the progress. I am currently waiting on insurance and quote/process for reconstruction so will post another review then. So far, the work has been very professional and I am really happy that they addressed all of the problems quickly to mitigate any additional damage that could have happened.

Joe and his team especially Jorge are the best! Just moved into my first new home and in the second week had a major plumbing leak. Joe responded the same day, came out at 10 pm in the evening. He is very caring making sure that his clients understand they are in good hands and will be taken care of. If it wasn't for his team I would not have made it through this stressful time. Definitely recommend his team to anyone!! He will ease your stress and get the job done and done well.

Nixon and David did a great job in handling the mitigation process for the water flooding into my basement. They came within the hour of me contacting them and put things into motion very quickly. They wasted no time and made sure that we were accommodated for. Thank you to both of these guys. They were great. Nixon works with great urgency and precision. I’ve never seen anyone work with as much urgency as him.

Had a leak from an exterior wall through to my drywall after a big rain. I called on a Sunday, Chris arrived first thing on Monday to assess the situation. A few hours later Angelo and Brandon arrived to remove the drywall and inspect. They were very helpful walking me through everything they found and did an amazing clean up job after. Will continue working with them.

I highly recommend Hydroforce company. My insurance company wanted to give me a small amount of money and only fix a minimal damage. Hydroforce was able to work directly with my insurnace and get me a full approval to replace my kitchen cabinets, backsplash, and tile in my bathroom/ shower!" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Service from HydroForce – Highly Recommend!
I recently used HydroForce for a major water damage restoration in my home, and I couldn’t be more impressed! From the moment I called, their team was responsive, professional, and empathetic to my stressful situation.
They arrived quickly, assessed the damage thoroughly, and explained the entire process clearly. The technicians were courteous, skilled, and meticulous not only did they remove all the water and dry the affected areas efficiently, but they also took extra care in sanitizing and deodorizing.
What really stood out was their attention to detail and commitment to going above and beyond. Unlike other companies I’ve dealt with, HydroForce didn’t cut corners—they treated my home as if it were their own. The final result was better than I expected, and they even followed up afterward to ensure everything was perfect.
Thank you for your outstanding service! -
We had a burst water pipe at my parents house in February that collapsed ceilings and produced water damage from the second floor down to the basement. Joe and his team were out the next day immediately starting the cleanup and remediation process. The property was dried out and down to the studs within a few days. Joe helped us navigate the insurance claim process as we had never been through it. Once the claim was set and the rebuild process began, our project manager Greg was our point contact. Greg was extremely responsive to all of our questions, meeting at the property and communicative throughout the rebuild. The work was done timely and professionally and we just recently signed off on the project. We couldn’t be happier with HydroForce and Joe, Greg and the entire team for helping guide myself and my parents through this initially daunting process. I would highly recommend HydroForce and would not hesitate to use them again.

We had some flooding in our basement along with sewage backing up after the recent rain event we had. I contacted Joe whom immediately linked me with Frank Cutter, I could not be more happy with my interaction with Frank and Joe. When Frank came by to see our building, he was honest and transparent with me that we did the major bulk of the cleaning and gave me recommendations on how to handle the humidity and moisture in the basement area. I was so happy that he was honest with me with what needed to be done; which would be to just run some fans and some heavy duty dehumidifiers. Will definitely be working with Hydroforce again whenever we have an issue!

I am not typically the kind of person to write or leave bad reviews about businesses, but my particular experience with Hydroforce left such a bad taste in my mouth that it is still bothering me a couple of months after the fact. When our upstairs neighbors' washing machine overflowed, we found Hydroforce. We were very happy with the mitigation service that they provided. One of the papers they had me sign stated that if my insurance was not going to cover all of the services they provided that I would pay for the remaining balance out of pocket. This seemed standard, and I was verbally assured that insurance would HAVE to cover everything that they were doing in my home. Surprise surprise, when it came time for my insurance company (State Farm) to pay the bill, they did pay most of it but had questions about certain services that Hydroforce had provided, such as use of antimicrobials and HEPA vacuuming. State Farm did not outright deny paying for those services, but they were refuting them and needed more explanation from Hydroforce about why those services were rendered. Meanwhile, while I was trying to understand and sort this out with State Farm, Hydroforce was sending me harsh emails every Monday and Thursday, demanding that we pay the remaining outstanding balance of $539. I responded to Hydroforce via e-mail explaining that I was trying to sort it out with my insurance company so that I could understand who owed what. Then a Hydroforce employee called me and explained that if I just paid the remaining balance to them that I could submit my receipt to State Farm and that State Farm would have to reimburse me. State Farm, however, said this was not an appropriate solution and that they would still not be able to reimburse me for those line items of the bill until they had further information from Hydroforce. There was also confusion about which line items constituted the outstanding balance, because the totals for those services were not adding up to the stated $539. Then, for a couple of weeks, State Farm was telling me that they were trying to call Hyrdroforce, but that Hydroforce was stonewalling them. My agent informed me that she would call Hyrdoforce, the answering person would ask for her name and the claim that she was calling about, and then they would immediately hang up on her. She had another agent try to call, and same thing happened. The agents told me they have never experienced anything like this. When I asked Hydroforce why they were no longer willing to communicate with State Farm, I was told, “We have already provided everything they need.” I got zero response to my last couple of phone calls and emails to Hydroforce. I still had questions about the balance… what made up the $539? Was there mold found during the inspection? What was the justification for using antimicrobials and HEPA vacuuming? But Hydroforce stone-walled me too! I couldn’t believe it. We never got those answers.. And then the final kick while we were down… Hydroforce filed an intent to place a lien on our property. After only 30 days!!! It said we had 10 days to pay the balance of $539, or a lien would be placed on our property. So out of fear, we shelled out this $539, which could have potentially been covered by insurance. We were manipulated, bullied, and strong-armed into paying this money. Hydroforce took advantage of us and our situation, implementing services in our home that were not warranted, and then forced us into paying this sum when our insurance company called them out on it. Their business practices are totally unethical. We had already paid a $500 deductible… so to add $539 on top of that, to a company treating us like such garbage, was a tough pill to swallow. I hope that extra $539 really means a lot to Hydroforce, because losing it meant a lot to our family of four (a nurse, a teacher, and two young children), especially right before the holidays. If you need water mitigation services, GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE!! There are many other companies out there, and they all surely operate with more integrity than this.

This company is a scam. The sales man came out and gave us a quote to dry out a small flood in our house. The sales man explained what services would be done and we were told that the house would be repaired afterwards. No copy of the contract was provided to us at that time. When coming to pick up the equipment, we were then told by the staff that the hole in the ceiling would be left and that we would now be responsible for the repair of the hole in the ceiling on our own. When in contact with Joe, the manager, he said we couldn’t have possibly thought that the job would be completed for the quoted price. As new homeowners who have never dealt with this before, I’m not sure how he expected us to know what the cost would be. Be very careful to go through the contract if you choose to go through this company.

I had a very troubling experience with SERVPRO that homeowners and insurance companies should be aware of.
Water damage occurred in my condo due to a leak from a unit two floors above mine, which caused water to come through my ceiling around a light fixture. SERVPRO was contacted to assess the damage and prepare an estimate.
After inspecting the unit, SERVPRO submitted an estimate directly to my insurance company that included two components:
Mitigation work
Repair of the damaged portion of the ceiling where the water intrusion occurred.
Based on the scope SERVPRO provided to the insurance company, the mitigation work was approved and completed.
However, after the mitigation was finished, I had to follow up multiple times over several weeks just to get the ceiling repair scheduled. After repeated attempts to move the project forward, I was eventually told something shocking:
SERVPRO claimed the estimate they themselves submitted to the insurance company was “inaccurate” and that completing the ceiling repair would now cost an additional $3,000.
In other words, the scope they provided to the insurance company and the scope they were willing to honor suddenly became two different things.
This places the homeowner in an extremely unfair position. Once mitigation work has begun and an estimate has already been submitted to an insurance carrier, changing the price of the remaining work raises serious concerns about transparency and accuracy in the estimating process.
Homeowners rely on restoration companies to provide accurate scopes of work, especially when those estimates are used for insurance claims.
At this point I am still seeking a clear explanation as to why the original estimate submitted to the insurance company cannot be honored.
Until this is resolved, I strongly recommend that homeowners:
• Carefully review all SERVPRO estimates
• Confirm the scope of work in writing
• Ensure the estimate submitted to insurance matches the work SERVPRO intends to perform
Water damage is stressful enough without having the scope and cost of repairs change after mitigation has already begun.
I hope SERVPRO corporate will review this situation and help resolve it appropriately. I will be contacting the BBB. -
