Sam Byrd was our plumber. He did an outstanding job. He was polite and professional. Explained everything that he was doing. We couldn't have asked for better service. Great job!!!

I was worried that my floor drain in the lower level required replacement as the drain was not draping correctly! So Sam and his co-worker got busy on clearing it within minutes! I was so relieved when he told me it is an easy fix and then cleared it out. Sam saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars by his honesty and professionalism regarding my situation. God bless you all - I truly recommend Howald to all who read this review.🙏

Josh’s competence (that is an obvious personnel ability) quickly diagnosed our problem and effectively resolved the situation. He also gave our furnace an overview physical to eliminate any other potential issues. Now all is well.

Brandon came to the rescue today after my hot water heater sprang a significant leak and flooded an area of my basement. He did an excellent job explaining the issues and my options for repair. In this case, it he installed a new water heater. Brandon was thorough and the whole experience went off efficiently and quickly. Brandon was friendly and put me at ease after being very anxious about this situation. I certainly would request be happy to have him come back for any future work.

Howard’s plumber Sam was prompt, polite, and professional. The work was done quickly at a fair price. I would highly recommend this excellent technician for any plumbing repair job.

Our Howard plumber came out, worked quickly and was very helpful describing what he was installing and how to maintain our new appliance. The installation cost a bit more than our original estimate- the estimate was provided without visiting our house to see the actual setup of our water heater, so I’d recommend getting estimates based on visits or with photos of the intended install location to avoid unanticipated costs.

Dave Bennett repaired my furnace at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night with a few inches of snow on the ground, a winter storm expected and at the end of his 12-hour workday. He was able to get my furnace going until it could be replaced. Howald has provided excellent heating, AC & plumbing service to me for 13 years.

Dan Powers was on time and very professional in servicing our systems. He was familiar with our HVAC units and the property having worked with the previous owners. He was also very helpful in showing us the best way to get optimum performance from the equipment.

Brandon was awesome! Had a leak fixed on washing machine boiler drains. Works great now. Always have had great experiences with Howald, will definitely keep using them in future.

After another company came out (Armor Air) and lied to us about a carbon monoxide reading in our air, we almost got a new furnace installed by them. When they used scare tactics and attempted to make us pay full price before any work was done, we thought it best to get a second opinion. Howald came out, they were honest about what we needed and while we got a new furnace installed, we never once felt pressured and had everything thoroughly explained to us. The crew was professional, installed quickly, and made sure to clean up the site like they were never in our home. The pricing was very fair, and everything is working great. We will be using Howard for all of our HVAC and plumbing needs!

Jake and Kyle did a real pro job at installing both my new gas furnace and air conditioner units. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful to my home. Very neat in their work and paid attention to the small details that they anticipated I would appreciate. An example of their due diligence is that Kyle brought out the old pipes that ran through the crawl and out to the a/c - experience tells me that other techs might have been lazy and left it all down there, but not this duo! And Jake made sure any new piping was close to each unit and saved as much space as possible. I know when Lawrence comes to do his quality check he'll give an A+ report.

Daniel Core always does an excellent job. This is the 3rd time he has been here for different service calls. Today he came to service my furnace. While we were chatting I mentioned I need a new thermostat so he installed one while he was here. He is always polite, pleasant and clearly explains what he is doing. He also brings my attention to anything he sees that might be a concern in the future.

We had Dan Powers investigate a weird spike in energy usage. He checked everything over thoroughly and confirmed that our furnace, etc., is working as it should. He was professional and explained everything clearly, in an understandable manner. Great service.

We had been in a new house for only a few weeks in January 2026, when we lost heat and water. We are on a well and use a water pump. The temperatures were frigid. Another local heating and plumbing company came out and sensed our desperation. They told us we needed a new furnace and a new water pump. The water pump had been replaced only 3 years ago. The price tag was going to be $42,000 for what they were recommending. We called Howald for a second opinion. They SAVED THE DAY! They pinpointed the problem and confirmed we did NOT need a new furnace or water pump. It was an issue with the AES Indiana meter box. The 240 volt power lines coming into the house were damaged. We paid an electrician $600 to come and fix the problem. It is refreshing to know companies with such integrity exist. We will be Howald customers for life!!

I called on a Saturday to schedule a valve replacement for my dishwasher. I was thrilled when they sent Sam to access the job on Monday. Not only did he do the repair, he helped me replace the water filter in my 'frig! Every technician who has come to my home has done a terrific job. All have been skilled and have surpassed my expectations. Howalds is the only company I call for HVAC and plumbing issues. Thanks Sam for your help. I really appreciate Howalds and all their employees.

Dan serviced my homes HVAC last year and was extremely courteous and professional. He appeared very knowledgeable and was able to explain things in a clear manner that a non-skilled person can understand. I specifically requested him again this year. I had to incur a bit of a wait but it was well worth it. Once again Dan provided the same great service as before.
