Leon came out on a Friday morning shortly after I contacted him. I had no running water in my house so I was in desperate need of some help . He got my well up and running the same day . He also chemically treated my well for bacteria and mineral build up . My water is the clearest and cleanest it has been in many years . The pricing was very reasonable and I will use J&L in the future for all of my well and plumbing needs .

I had 2 different companies come out and they couldn't get the pump out and one said I had to drill a new well. Then Leon came and had the pump out in one hour. He done excellent work and was fair on price. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants an honest job done.

Owner is very cocky and rude. Thinks he knows it all but definitely knows nothing about customer service. Like many people on here, if I could get a negative review I would. I called really planning on giving him my business but the convo went south without me even saying anything lol. Guess buddy has had a bad day. “I was planning to give you my business but I don’t like what I’m hearing so i think I’m going to call someone else” his response is “Yea I would too”. He’s also very old which doesn’t matter but mumbles like crazy so I had to ask him to repeat himself and he didn’t like that. He said he was not mumbling. Complete Joke. P.S. It takes a lot from me to give a bad review. Don’t even waste your time calling.

I live in Brownsburg and moved into this house about a year ago. Upon doing a search another well company came up first. Let's just say they would not give me the time or day. They also said it would be at least a week before they would come out. So I called J&L water Well drilling. It was Absolutely the best service I have ever had. It was a Sunday when I called and he was very quick to respond. He even suggested a few things for me to try over the phone. I ended up needing a new well (the old was over 55 years old) that I found out had never been serviced which the screen and the well itself was very clogged. They were here first thing that Monday morning and stayed till the job was done. They dealt with a down poor of rain for 2 days. Please do yourself a favor and call J&L first. You will not be disappointed.

Purchased a home with a well in Brownsburg. First time with a well and we had issues with it from day one...and these issues our home inspection did not show. Leon and Bobby spent a great deal of time cleaning it 2 times, putting in a new tank, and bringing riser up to code. Explained the process and called us for follow ups. Our water clarity is improved. Highly recommend. Also, if looking to purchase a home with a well, I recommend having J&L inspect instead of paying extra for home inspector. Although, reasonable prices it would have saved us so much by catching this before closing.

I highly recommend J&L mechanical well pump service company. I am 70 years-old and had the need for well pump and tank services many times over the years. All our many homes of had Wells. Our 1st need for well service at this home which we've lived in for 7 years was several months ago when lightning hit our well-and burned-out the pump motor. I call J&L about 10:00 p.m. that same night they answered the phone immediately and were at my house at 10:00 a.m. the next morning. It was a very hot day but they still had a new pump installed cleaned and chlorinated and the well back in service by mid afternoon that same day. I found the pricing to be very reasonable and found out a few days later that my next door neighbor who had a similar service done by a different company-paid significantly more money. Yesterday afternoon which was August 14th I realized we had a problem with a pressure tank as it was rapidly losing pressure with no water usage in the house. I call J& L and they arrived at my house at 11:00 a.m. the next morning to make the repair. Again the pricing was very reasonable. I will never shop for another well service company again and as I said earlier I would highly recommend them to anyone.

STAY AWAY! Leon Hughes is not licensed as required by the state of Indiana to work on wells. He charged us a hefty fee to "fix" our well pump and pressure tank. I'm not sure which was broken, all he was interested in was replacing both. Two days after completing the work, only one faucet in the house will work if multiple faucets are opened. I called Leon to ask about why this was happening. Leon Said it was "buildup in the pipes" and that "it wasn't on him and I needed to call a plumber." There is a fine line between being a "civil matter" and being an out right "fraudster." In retrospect, I should have never allowed Leon Hughes to do the work.

J & L really took care of my family and I when the well pump went out and we lost water to our entire house... on a Sunday. They were out within an hour, and worked quickly to determine the issue and provide a solution. The owner (Leon) took the time to explain things to me, and answer any questions that I had (sometimes more than once). I'm very pleased with their service, and will have them out again for some additional work that I'd like done on some of the plumbing inside the house. Thanks!

I have know J and L for many years. He has worked on several of my families wells and pumps. Has never had no type of faults of any nature. Very quick to get to places and get the jobs complete. As to the understanding to the review I had seen about the family that had issues a night before Thanksgiving of 2020. I do know first off that leon and J and L pump and well service does not sub contract his work at all. And I do know that when he received that call night before Thanksgiving. He had told them that he will call around to try to find another company that can help them. As to there was a death that had just occurred with Leon's family member and he was not able to help on that service call. So he had called several places to find someone to help and could not find no one that would be able to address the situation being holiday. His last resort he called Amazing pump and he gave them the customers information as they said they would go out to address the situation. As he does not sub contract any work to any other company. And that was last company he had called to help the people. And he had told the people he would call back to let them know as to if he found someone and who he had found. And the people would not answer the phone.

I've known Leon for over 20 years I can't believe it when I saw this. Leon helped me out in aktin and I had frozen lines and well and didn't charge me a dime. He is a kind hearted man. I don't believe these reviews. Install New pipe and water, coordinate well and clean it and installed a new psi switch. He put in a new adapter. I'm only writing this because he has no problems with anyone out here. Blair well service bad mouths everyone and everybody believes him. He tries to put everyone out of business. He works on a 92 year old woman's well all the time and doesn't charge her a dime. Constantly cleans it and fixes it.

I am very pleased with J & L service. I have well water and there were no water coming to the house. They came out the same day I called to give me an estimate and the next day to fix my well water issue. The water pressure is better than before. No one else I called could offer the same warranty they have. My Well water had stop the next day due to a different issue and they came straight over to fix the issue. I am very surprised by their service and glad that I stumbled across them on google. Thank you J & L Service you guys are awesome!!

We had j& l put in a new pump and well cleaning. I thought they were prompt couerteous knowledgeable and reasonable in their price. Later we had an adapter break on the well casing, and they came out right away and repaired it, again no problem. Would recommend them to anyone. The owner Leon was a great guy to do business with.

I woke up at 2:00 am with no water. I called Lonnie from J / L and said he would be out within an hour. He showed up and pulled my pump. Once he got it up. He showed me that the problem was a wire had broken.. Lonnie had my water back on . and I was very happy. I would not call anyone other than Lonnie. Price was fair and I didn’t have to wait .

We started having well issues and asked another company to come out and give us some advice. They said all we needed was a new pressure tank and would be out the next day (Friday) to fix it. However they were a no show and by this time we had no water at all. Upon reading some other reviews we contacted J & L Well Drilling and Pump Service who came out that same day. They determined we had a bad pump and pressure tank. They ordered the needed materials and were out first thing Monday morning. There were done the same day and we had good water flow. However, the new pump failed overnight. Something to do with our acknowledged crappy wiring. Leon and his crew took care of everything and we were back in business after a few hours. We have to say Leon is as determined as they come in getting the job done and getting it done right. We would heartily recommend J & L Well Drilling and Pump Service.

On Saturday morning I, placed a call to J&L Well Service & Pump Repair, spoke to Mr. Hughes. Mr. Hughes, came to my homes and was vary efficient and we were told our well pump was out. Our well pump was replaced and all services were rendered. I would recommend this business, for any well work. I have worked with Mr. Hughes, for several years and have had nothing but satisfaction.

Leon came out to give me a second opinion after a large local well company diagnosed a dead and likely irretrievable pump with a hefty price tag. Leon referred me to one of his competitors that specialized in removing stuck spools. He called back a few times to make sure his competitor/peer was on the job and getting my water restored. His time and advice was free of charge. This interaction and intra-industry cooperation should be the model for all home "utility" service companies. Leon and the guy he referred were honest, fair and willing to work hard to get me a cost-effective fix instead of an unnecessary whole new system.

To address what a few negative reviewers have said, yes, Leon is a bit difficult to understand. At the end of the day, it didn't negatively impact the level of service he provided. He knows his stuff and works hard. That's what I care about.

If I could give negative stars I would! This so called “company” took my 80 year grandmother for $3000. We woke up to no water Saturday morning and when we googled they were the second ones to pop up. Seemed legit, she called and they were there within two hours. Immediately told her she needed a new pump and bladder tank. Quoted her $2700. 1/2 the fee was due now and the other half when the work was complete. Couldn’t get the part until Monday. They were here for hours Monday morning, installed a new bladder tank and pressure switch and pit in a new pressure switch but apparently said something was “wrong” and would be out the next morning to finish. Of course he collected the final payment before leaving. Tuesday morning comes and they never show up! They cashed both checks and are avoiding phone calls from my grandmother and husband!
We got another company to come out and they know of Leon Hughes very well and the shotty work he does. He is a FRAUD and if you look him up on my case you will see all the lawsuits against him for operating WITHOUT A LICENSE.
Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. We are still without water!

How this company has so many good reviews and a 4.4 out of 5 on Google at the time of this post is beyond me. Must know a lot of people willing to post for them or are somehow buying reviews. Do not waste your time, completely unprofessional and definitely a SCAM. The co-owner, Leon, showed up an hour and a half late. He is almost impossible to understand if you do call him fyi. He quoted me a number over the phone prior to coming out, then upped that number by $1100 when he arrived. He did little to no troubleshooting while pretending to be an expert and automatically claimed he’d have to replace the well pump, tank, and plumbing. He said he’d have to come back the next morning as the part he needed was not yet in stock, but said I needed to pay half of the bill up front for him to come out and do the work. I said absolutely not and he became very defensive and claimed every company in the industry does this and was very adamant that I needed to do this. I told him no numerous times and he left, begrudgingly. I then called a different company and quickly deducted that he is a scam artist and that I do not need everything replaced as Leon claimed. Then, Leon called me back 10 minutes later and offered to come out in the morning to do the work without half of the money up front. I told him no thanks and then proceeded to dive into his reviews on Google/Yelp. I’m thankful I dodged this bullet. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear. Don’t assume the company is good based on a high Google rating, actually read what people are saying and trust your gut. Google, fix your algorithm so this guy doesn’t show up as the first search result for “well service near me”. Hope this helps somebody to not make the mistake that I almost did.

I called this company on Monday and they came out the same day and replaced my well pump. Leon called me every day for the rest of the week to ensure I had water pressure and encouraged me to have my water softener replaced (Frey's Water Systems did a great job). Leon also returned within a week when I realized that my well pressure tank was also not working properly and he quickly installed a new one and provided me with all manuals. He's a dedicated worker and quick to provide service - I'd definitely recommend him to others.

I have used Leon for several of my rental properties. Leon is a very honest man. He looks over his jobs and and tells you upfront as to what is wrong with your stuff. And he tells you how much the job is before starting it. He explains in detail as to the cost and if there is any issues that arose after completing the job. The cost will be extra if such anything else goes wrong as to plumbing busting etc. And as to a review I just read. Didn't quite understand why someone would make a statement to Leon's work. As from my gathering information the man had plumbing issues after Leon had end up installing 2 pumps as the first one he put on was defective so he went and bought another one and installed it the plumbing busted as the poly pipe was very old. Leon had gave him a price to replace it and the man did not want to do it. As for saying he left a 82 year old without water would be such a shame on his end for doing the lady like that. As for Leon tells you upfront there is additional fees. Being that it's a new Pump with old poly pipe the pressure of the new product would cause plumbing to bust. If you didn't want him to fix it looks to be you left the 82 year old woman without water shame on you. As this man has been having a lot of other companies giving him bad reviews and having people say false things on his reviews. And he has never done any work for the people that is giving him bad reviews. I have used him for several years and will continue to do so.

Good company. They got me water same day after no water for 5 days! I really appreciate their service!
