We have used Prairie Center for well over 10 years. Rarely do I wish I could give more than five stars for service but this company needs at least ten. They have NEVER tried to repair or replace anything that didn't need to be replaced. If they tell you your unit is dead, you can believe it's only because they have tried absolutely everything they can to get it up and running again. My 83 year-old mom's AC died and she called two different companies and both told her she needed to replace her unit. One quoted her a price of over $6,000 and the other company's quote was over $8,000! Prairie Center came out this morning and fixed the problem and the total charge was $204! In addition, the office staff is so nice, so compassionate, and so helpful. The way these folks do business is rare in today's world, and honestly, I feel privileged to have the opportunity to give them a good rating!

After having my air unit serviced by another company 3 weeks ago & has quit twice since then I called Prairie Center.
Office was so nice & informative and they sent someone out within 3 hours.
He showed me the filthiest furnace filter, which other company said they replaced.
I was up & running within 30 mins . Will definitely use them from now on & highly recommend not only for service but because reasonably priced, customer oriented and quickness

I was out of town when our furnace started acting up. I called Prairie Center and they were able to come out that same day. The tech showed up on time, and even called me when he was 30 minutes away to let me know he was on the way. After diagnosing the problem we discussed the options available. In our case, a new furnace was in order, but the tech was able to get my old unit working in the mean time. We talked about options, and scheduled the replacement right then for the next day. The next day showed up, and once again they were right on time. Before I knew it, the new furnace was in. I was very impressed with the professionalism and care of work on all aspects of this job. From coordinating the service call through the office, to the cleanliness and detail oriented installation, I could not be more happy with our experience. I would highly recommend Prairie Center Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing to anyone!

Prairie Center Plumbing and Heating did an excellent job of installing my new furnace and air conditioner just recently in my Overland Park, Ks. home. They were all top notch, professional quality and very knowledgeable crew of five guys. They were in at 8:00 a.m. and finished by about 11.30 a.m. All debris was removed.
I highly recommend Prairie Center. They offer free estimates just a phone call away.
You will not be disappointed!!!!!!

I contacted Robin for an AC system replacement quote due to a freon leak "diagnosed" by another local company. Robin listened to my needs and scheduled an appointment for me as soon as possible. Rob identified the true issue with my AC system quickly and got it running as it should by replacing a small part (the contactor). They are professional and honest people.

Jason and team installed a mini-split unit in my garage this week. I have to be honest, my garage is my sanctuary, so I had REALLY high expectations. They were very competitively priced, but exceeded all of my expectations. The unit they installed is amazing but it was quality and cleanliness of the install and work performed by the service team that really knocked my socks off. They also installed a new furnace and AC for me over 5 years ago that continues to perform flawlessly. If anybody asks me for a furnace or AC recommendation - you have my answer!

They just installed a new air conditioner & furnace for me two days ago. Can’t believe how quiet the air conditioner is! The guys are very friendly & good at what they do. Plus they do a fantastic clean up after they have finished the job! I feel their Maintenance Plan is very reasonable in cost compared to some other companies. I’m very pleased with their service and am looking forward to seeing them again next year for my maintenance cleaning. Highly recommend Prairie Center! A company you can trust!

Our air conditioner compressor stopped working today and I called Prairie Center as a new customer. They arrived within the hour and got our system repaired and working again within a couple hours for a reasonable price. The service tech was also able to provide verbal replacement cost estimates for our condenser and furnace, helping me anticipate future repair or replacement options and costs for our 14 year old system.

I have previously used one of the larger local service companies, but became frustrated with high service costs and monthly subscription games. Prairie Center was a refreshing alternative. Solid work, at a reasonable price, without asking me to sign up for a monthly subscription. Prairie Center will be top of my list for future needs!

Update 5/15/23:
Prairie Center replaced our AC and Furnace in 2021. The sales process was very low-stress and they did a great job providing cost-effective solutions. The installation was high quality and very professional. Everything went quickly and smoothly. They have been providing preventative maintenance for a couple years now at a reasonable price and our experience continues to be overwhelmingly positive.

Put a call in for an air conditioner issue. Both units on a two zone system were not cooling properly. Set up an appointment for the next morning. Zach, the tech, promptly came the next morning when scheduled. He checked the system out and explained everything in detail that needed to be done. Got the two units up and running in no time. He was professional, efficient and friendly which was refreshing as in todays service industries those attributes can be a rarity.
I've been using Prairie Center for over a decade and would highly recommend them!

I was told by another company I needed to replace my system...I was referred to these guys, and they came out quickly and only cost $250.00 and should be good for a while. Highly recommend them.

Our AC went out in the middle of the summer during a heat advisory. We weren't sure who to call because our long time technician had retired. Prairie Center was recommended to us by my wife's coworker. They had a fantastic technician that came out and got everything back running right away. Highly recommend for excellent service and fair prices.

Prairie Center has done several jobs for us over two different homes in the past and Rob has been wonderful. Above and beyond to help figure out a fix without paying a ton. We have moved out of the KC area and live in Denver now. My dad has gotten older and needed help in the negative temperatures his furnace went out. He called several places for days trying to get someone to help. I called Prairie Center this morning and not only were they able to send Zach same day, though they were the people you want to help your family when you can’t be there. 100 percent recommend and will continue to tell the stories of their help when we needed it most for years to come.

Kevin’s attention to detail is very impressive. He explained his findings on my furnace & air conditioner thoroughly. Walked me through each issue step by step. Answered questions that I had. I needed my condenser replaced on my air conditioner, so I had Kevin do that. Kevin does impeccable work. I would recommend Kevin & One Hour Heating & Cooling to family & friends.

This was just a quick furnace filter replacement. He was in and out quickly. Wore his boot covers and was pleasant and polite. Took the dirty filter with him. Just exactly what was desired for this visit.

Kevin Castillo came and worked on our unit. He was very professional and really inspected the unit thoroughly. After his diagnosis he was able to fix the problem. Can't recommend these guys enough!

The service tech was hard to understand. He spent more time on his phone getting help from his office, He clearly wasn’t knowledgeable enough to fix the isdue. Thank goodness they sent out another tech who knew what todo to fix the issue.
