From Matt Cool to the scheduler to the 3 man installation team they provided excellent, efficient, respectful and knowledgeable services. Comfort Heating and Air shows their appreciation for our Veterans as well. We could not have asked for a better team to ensure top notch work. They went above and beyond our expectations every step of the way.

I was very happy with the service. I will say I was not happy with what all was wrong with my hvac and to find out my ac is in the same condition was upsetting but it was not the hvac guys fault it is the retailer fault for telling me it was a new system but he got it to work for the time being and is going to send out his team to get me financing set up to have my unit replaced he told me everything that was wrong but also did not try to have me pay for things that did not need to be done I will be useing them from now on and I called at 5 this morning got a real person and got a Tech st my house around 8:30

Got an appointment for a furnace tune up same day I called. Bryan did a great job. He was efficient, professional, and courteous. He also gave me a few tips about climate control and keeping our HVAC in good condition. Very pleased with the service we received.

Great service for my furnace check and repair! Not only did the technician fix the issues, he also found a burnt wire which he fixed no charge. Comfort also let me use their $50 off online coupon. They also gave me a good deal on a UV system to kill a slight mold growth in the duct work with a lifetime guarantee on the UV system. Recommend Comfort!

He spoke well of the other members of your team and instilled trust. He also gave us options for what to do next and set up our sales call. Ryan was awesome. He was thorough and super friendly. Didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Made a suggestion to think about. But wasn't forcing a sell. Great communication and easy to talk to. Very respectful of my house. 10/10 will be keeping this company in my pocket for any future HVAC needs.

After having a new HVAC system installed, I wasn't a happy customer. Without going into detail, there were aspects of the work I didn't find done correctly.
To their credit, they came back out twice and fixed all the issues. Their employee who came out the 2nd & 3rd time (Chris) did terrific work.
At this point I'm very pleased with everything and I plan to continue using their services in the future.
4.5/5 stars rating is completely due to initial install. They did end up making everything right but, initial issues have to deduct a little.
I would now recommend this company.

My fiancé and I recently had the pleasure of working with Comfort Heating and Air, specifically TAYOR BURTON and RYAN WOODALL, and I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. From start to finish, they were extremely professional, understanding, and incredibly helpful. They truly went above and beyond their normal job duties to help us navigate a very stressful situation after purchasing our new home.

Shortly after moving in, we discovered that our heating and cooling system was not in the condition we had originally believed it to be. Taylor and Ryan took the time to thoroughly explain what was wrong with the system and walked us through every step of the process in a way that was clear, honest, and easy to understand. They answered every question we had—no matter how many—and made themselves available even after hours to ensure we felt supported and informed.

What truly stood out was their genuine dedication to helping us find a solution. We had both a home warranty and homeowner’s insurance policy that we hoped would help cover the cost of the system. Unfortunately, the home warranty only approved $500 and the homeowner’s insurance ultimately denied the claim. Despite this, Taylor and Ryan advocated for us every step of the way. They communicated directly and professionally with both companies, providing documentation and explanations in an effort to help us obtain coverage.

Even though those efforts were unsuccessful, they did not stop there. They worked tirelessly to help us explore financing options and ultimately helped us get approved for a loan so we could move forward with installing a new system. Their willingness to go the extra mile to ensure we could afford and install a reliable system meant more to us than we can express.

Beyond their professionalism and expertise, Taylor and Ryan are simply great people kind, genuine, down-to-earth individuals who truly care about the people they serve. In a time that was extremely stressful for us as new homeowners, they made the process manageable and reassuring.

I’ve had a great experience with Comfort Heating and Air! I called them on a Sunday afternoon because my furnace wasn’t distributing heat. John came out, very polite, he scoped my unit and come to find out I needed a new one. He had another coworker come out and do a consult late Sunday evening. You can’t ask for better service. Ryan spent two hours explaining the pros and cons of the new units they feature. He explained every detail of their process for install and even managed to schedule a crew to come out first thing in the morning to replace our HVAC system. Very happy with this company and their team! Thank you for being available when we needed you the most.

Summary: Comfort Heating and Air tried to charge me 10x more than the fair rate for a repair, and to make matters worse, misdiagnosed the issue.

Last month I had an issue with my HVAC system and called Comfort Heating and Air (they installed the system about six years ago). They diagnosed the problem as X and Y and quoted $2,128 to repair it, then offered a “discount” to $1,800. I assumed the quote must have accidentally included the cost of parts that were still under warranty, so I called the office to confirm. They told me the parts were free under warranty and that the “discounted” $1,800 was labor only.

In the same conversation, I asked how long the repair would take and— apparently without realizing the disconnect in their eagerness to schedule the repair—they said, “less than two hours.” I immediately pointed out that that works out to $900 per hour for labor, even with the discount! They displaced blame by saying that they don’t set pricing (“it just comes up in the computer”).

I said that seems like a ridiculous price for labor, and I’m going to check around to make sure the price is reasonable before approving the work. In response, they informed me that my warranty would be void if anyone else worked on the system. After looking into it, I learned the warranty is with the manufacturer (not the installer), the parts they claimed I needed would only cost a few hundred dollars even if I bought them myself without using the warranty, and the parts replacement was easy enough that I could do it myself (even knowing little about HVAC systems).

To check my options, I searched nextdoor for recommendations and decided to reach out to another HVAC company that had received positive reviews from my community. Although it was after hours (around 8pm), they replied to my email within six minutes. They promptly obtained the warranty parts and agreed to repair it for under $200. If that wasn’t enough, they ultimately determined that Comfort had misdiagnosed the problem; this other company had the system working in about an hour with no new parts and charged me $125. (I intentionally waited several weeks to post this so I could report that the system truly is working now without an issue.)

I’ve also since learned that Comfort’s techs earn commission on what they upsell, whereas more reputable companies pay a straightforward hourly rate without incentives to sell extra work. The misdiagnosis might have been an honest mistake (that unnecessarily left my house in extreme cold for several days), but the quote for 10x more than the fair labor cost to do the repair was certainly not a mistake, as they confirmed themselves. If that’s the price that came up in their system, as they claimed, it was based on the information they input into the system: “we did the original install + free warranty parts + we diagnosed + told him the warranty is only good with us + it’s well below freezing + we dangled a few hundred dollars discount to prevent him from shopping around = mark it up over 1000% and you’ll likely get the sale).

I didn’t fall for it, but I know others might—so I’m posting this so others can make informed choices. I have used Comfort to install four HVAC systems over the years, and all was fine, but the moment something went wrong, they tried to take advantage of me in a grossly unethical way. Therefore, I won’t use them again and hope others will learn from my experience and steer clear of them, too.

This Team was Wonderful! Tim was SO great with working with us. We had been out of heat for almost a week. He worked with us and was very nice! When the team came out they did a GREAT job! I had an amazing experience with this heating and air company from start to finish! Logen, our service tech, was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was running perfectly. Alex, the comfort advisor, walked us through our options without any pressure and really helped us find the best solution for our home. Riley, the lead installer, and Matt worked like a well-oiled machine—efficient, friendly, and detail-oriented. You can really tell this team runs on trust, respect, and what they call “the brotherhood.” It’s rare to find a group of people who take so much pride in their work and in taking care of their customers. Highly recommend!

Is it hot enough for you?

Southern Comfort Heating and Cooling is top notch and should become your one and only HVAC Service. Here's why. On yesterday afternoon, I went upstairs to find it 87 degrees!! Wowza! It was a sauna up there. With two units--one for each floor--I didn't realize until I returned from work that the upstairs unit wasn't cooling properly.

As a valued customer of Southern Heating and Cooling, when I called--they immediately gave me a same-day "evening" appointment.

Henry Mackey, 19, an identical twin, whose siblings go to UK, was a fantastic and engaging HVAC service professional. I learned so much about him, his career goals, and his passion for his work. He told me everything that was going on as he worked both inside and outside.

What he didn't realize was that I am the daughter, granddaughter, and niece of HVAC guys, so I knew everything he said and was very impressed with his knowledge and his precision of his work.

While he was here, I was on the phone chatting and laughing with my favorite cousin and Henry, in the hot attic, working to unclogging the drain, kept saying "ma'am I can't hear what you're saying to me, but I will be down shortly." Hehehe.

Very courteous and knowledgable of his very important skilled trade; he told me what the issues were and that the unit would return to working and would cool the upstairs in 12-24 hours.

What happened next was why, without hesitation or reservation I recommend Southern Comfort Heating and Cooling to everyone in LEX. He confirmed that somehow they had miss our annual preventative maintenance service ahead of the 2025 summer season and they would call next week to schedule it. He said I would not be charged for today's service call. He apologized and said that as a premium customer, their miss should not have occurred, but it did and they would make it right.

What honesty. Not only was it high quality work, the integrity and level of loyalty to their customers are unmatched.

Henry from Southern Heating and Cooling came out to do a routine maintenance check on our HVAC systems. He was on time, thorough, and very courteous throughout the visit. It’s clear he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about customer satisfaction. Very nice guy—highly recommend requesting Henry if you need service in the Lexington area!

I truly appreciate the quick response and professionalism. My issue started on Friday evening, and my warranty company couldn't schedule anyone until Wednesday. Fortunately, I was able to schedule a same-day appointment on Sunday with SOCO. My technician, Greg Squires, was great, professional, and took pride in his work. He was able to figure out the issue quickly and explained everything. I appreciate the service experience during this heat wave.

Joseph and Sam were professional, friendly and efficient in doing a maintenance call to check and clean the furnace and air conditioner. They listened to my concerns and explained everything they did as well making sure they did not track any dirt into the house after being in the crawl space. Southern Comfort installed my units several years ago and I have not had any problems.

Our AC suddenly stopped working during a heatwave, and Kevin showed up promptly Monday morning. He quickly diagnosed the issue, a bad capacitor. And also noticed the condenser coil needed cleaning. He explained everything clearly, replaced the part, cleaned the unit, and checked the whole system to make sure it was running efficiently.
