We had Tru Green for 2 years and still have just as many weeds as when they started. We paid over $1300.00 for the 2 years of service. We decided not to use them this year. Apparently if you do not cancel them they will still come service the yard the next year without permission. I came home and found a sign in my yard that says We didn't service your lawn today but we'd like to in the future. The next day we get a bill online for $94.45. I called and asked them why I was being charged if they didn't do anything. She said they did service the yard but would wave that charge if I signed up for service. Sounds like blackmail to me. I declined and had to pay the $94.45. I told her I didn't want them back on my property again.

Not impressed and cancelled subscription. Started basic service after new Bermuda sod was installed in April. Grass became thin with no signs of turf thickening. After a few service calls with no improvement I stopped all further fertilizing and asked for a soil sample to determine what yard needs. I'm still waiting after 2 weeks even though soil sample kits are available from local sources. I've determined the issue on my own and decided it's best that I take care of my own yard instead of paying professionals.

I hired TruGreen in early September for weed control, paid for a year in advance. They scheduled, and cancelled, three service attempts with no explanation as to why. The third attempt would have been this Monday but they didn't show up and didn't even communicate that they had cancelled, I had to check the text link to see that they hadn't come. Tuesday (yesterday) I called to cancel my service and they said they had scheduled a service later in the week and I politely declined and asked for my refund. They then offered to come out that afternoon and provide two free treatments, I declined these as well. I'm happy for those of you with good experiences with them, it just wasn't my experience.

Stroke 5 on the record go check. Paid in advance for services. I want even list the other four screw ups, but number five, you didn’t call as told to (you offered that in service) and left my gate open and my German Shepard who is a family member got out. Thanks for just throwing down the yard sign in the yard and not even putting it in the ground at all. It’s going to the trash where you belong. Yall have serious issues. 35803-RealEstate Agent who does NOT recommend

Edit 9/16/2021: After over two months of dealing with them and their lies while being polite and believing them, I now can’t get any help. They’ve killed about 3,000 sqft of fescue grass because they treated it like Zoysia/ Bermuda. They’re management team is incompetent, lazy and can’t keep employees. LOL, if they actually send someone out here and say “army worms”. No, it’s because you over fertilized “cool weather” shade grass in June and July- and never treated weeds until I complained through the app. They’re still not dead. My weeds have so much space to grow now!

If you are wanting a service that kills your grass and keeps your weeds, this is the service for you! Not only will you receive no customization based on your type of grass(es) or issues, you’ll receive no aftercare instructions. Rest assured though that the company keeps NO notes on your lawn or concerns, so you’ll have to explain yourself every time with every new “specialist”. Spoiler, they aren’t specialist and don’t like their jobs or the company! A specialist would know that too much or the wrong type of fertilizer will kill your grass. Also if you like unannounced visitors, this is the company for you!

Choosing TruGreen because of a “too good to be true” deal was a huge mistake.

Below are some dead grass (zoysia, expensive stuff) that popped up about 3-5 days after the last treatment. It’s also in the backyard. It’s in straight lines where the spreader went. This is not because of drought or dry weather.

I’ve gotten good customer service and technicians but I question the effectiveness of Tru Green’s products. I have weeds in my lawn after two service visits and the aeration to stimulate growth on the brown patches, front yard and back, hasn’t worked at all. I paid for the year in advance, so I’m going to give it a little more time, but so far I’m not satisfied.

The team has been very professional and they work hard to satisfy the customer. I have had the service for two years and I am very satisfied. My lawn looks great!

Hated this company at first because we had a service guy that NEVER did his job for 5 months. We were paying for treatments that we never received. NOW we have two different people that come and treat our yard & they are GREAT! One person can ruin your experience with a company. I'm glad we stayed. The mosquito, tick, and flea treatment works so well.

Boyce (Tre’) did a very thorough job on our yard. He was very professional and takes pride in a job well done.

Discovered Armyworms on a Thursday and called TruGreen the next day. They came out first thing on Tuesday and sprayed every inch of my yard. Fast response, great service! William B. answered all my questions quickly and accurately. Good job!

The service when you want it is pretty good. The problem is I've been trying to cancel for over year and I still get bills from them. You can never cancel anything online like you started your services, and you have to call. I have called 3 times and canceled all of my services and still get bills, so be sure if you want this service to be in this for the long haul

Photos say it all. This review is for my mother-in-law’s lawn. Fresh sod was laid 1.5 years ago and almost immediately signed up with TruGreen. She’s had 6 services with them and this is what it has become.

At no point did any “technician specialist” reach out with recommendations or concerns about the regression of the lawn. They just continued to take her $$$ without any advice or recommendations. This is how shady, unprofessional companies operate. Stay far away from TruGreen.

Update 6/30/2022: Upon seeing TruGreen’s response, I emailed them on 6/17/2022 like requested with the hopes that our concerns could be resolved. I never received a response from TruGreen. I followed up again on 6/20/2022 via email and to no one’s surprise, TruGreen did not respond again. Since June 17th, I have called in and spoken to TruGreen customer support a total of FIVE TIMES with the simple request of speaking to someone in upper management or the specialist who’s provided her lawn services and I have yet to hear back from anyone with TruGreen.

Additionally, on 6/17, when I spoke with a customer support representative, I requested that all future services be delayed until I was able to speak with either a branch manager or the specialist who has been providing her supposed lawn services. I was informed that she was due for a lawn aeration on 6/22. I explicitly stated that we did not want this service at this time due to the poor lawn conditions (I.e. potentially re-sodding) and the rep confirmed that no aeration would occur and it was also documented in their system. On 6/22, I received an automated message stating that “TruGreen employee” was there to provide lawn aeration even though we had not agreed to these services. On 6/23 I visited her home and there were no visible signs of lawn aeration - I thought that is fine - must have been a tech error - because we had previously cancelled these services. However, when we logged into her TruGreen account, a $180 lawn aeration charge was active. Five days later, an actual TruGreen employee (who had finally come out to do the soil test which had been requested on 6/17) walked the yard and stated that the lawn needed to be aerated (which it had supposedly been done just 5 days before) and when I shared that according to TruGreen the lawn had just been aerated he said “someone didn’t do their job.” His own words. This lawn aeration fiasco is a symbol for the “quality” services that she has been paying for for over a year now.

Everything about working with TruGreen has been an unbelievably terrible experience.

I have been a TruGreen customer for 17 years at my present home. I have been through the rainy years and dry years and of course the Army worm years!! They have always treated my lawn as needed to make it one of the best in my neighborhood. If there was an issue they have always responded quickly and worked to resolve my issue with my lawn. I have had multiple neighbors ask me why my lawn looks so good and I have told them it isn't because of me, it is because I use TruGreen and I have some one else mow it!! I just make sure it stays looking pretty!!

Our specialist Joshua Wilson does a great job for us. We are so pleased with his services. He really knows what our yard needs.

Very good but when airigation was done left all the small pieces on the ground d hundreds but they answer all questions and help you figure out what to do in getting grass to grow...very much would recommend

Tru Green arrived to spray pre-emergent weed control. The technician, Morton Enos was very professional and did a fantastic job spraying my yard. I would highly recommend Tru Green for your lawn needs.

Purchased a years worth of treatments and was told by their technician that I needed to get sod in order to regrow grass and proceed with effective treatments. They came out two weeks later to do two separate treatments at 80$ a piece and I cancelled my service confused as to why they would do that. They are refusing to refund me my money for services and are adding money on as when buying a package you get a discount. Insanely unprofessional. Just had a customer service guy tell me, sorry there’s nothing I can do. Disgusting company.

Rodney was extremely knowledgeable to answer all my questions asked. I just can't wait for my front and back trees and shrubs to look green again. I have complete faith in TruGreen. Today, the service completed was the Trees and shrubs application to the front yard and back yard.
I was briefed before and after the service done. More to come....

No granule application and when asked was told management decided not to use this year. While that is all well and good, I think customers should be notified as liquid is not as good and you can tell from the color of my lawn. Put granules on back yard and you guy sprayed front and there is no comparison Also you guys went up and while I know cost have gone up, a text or email or heck even a call would have been nice.

I wanted to share some positive feedback regarding my recent service. The technician was incredibly professional. He took the time to explain the treatment, gave us clear safety instructions for the lawn, and even walked the grounds with me to address my questions. For the questions he couldn't answer on the spot, he proactively noted them for elevation. This level of transparency and customer care is much appreciated!
