If you are looking for a repair service or an installation service, then look no further. You've found the right place. I met Chris a little over a year ago when my gas furnace failed to turn on. I was lucky it was in October. Chris came over the same day and was able to get my furnace working quickly. He noted that because of its age, I should begin the process of looking to get it replaced. Fast forward to this week. I woke up on Sunday morning with no heat. I searched the internet for a service company that was open and ended up using a different HVAC for the emergency. (Turns out Pro-Tech is open Sundays) The other company sent out a technician who first told me it was the ignition, then the high limit sensor, then the capacitator. At that point, I knew I was being taken whether intentionally or unintentionally but it was cold outside and it was Sunday and I needed heat. The technician left and the heat was on temporarily. It ended up cutting off several times Sunday night. I called the technician and he told me he couldn't come back or he'd need to charge me a service fee again. I ended up calling their office the next day and they sent the same technician out to "fix" the problem along with a sales rep. to give me an estimate for a new system. This is where Pro-Tech comes in. I called Chis and he came after the other company left and gave me a quote for a new gas furnace. He didn't try to sell me on stuff I didn't want nor did he try to sell me stuff I didn't need. He talked to me, not at me. Two days later (Wednesday), my heat went out again and this time I had 3 quotes for a new system. I called Chris and he promptly sent over a contract for e-sign and a link for the deposit. He said he would get it scheduled for Monday. A few hours later, he called back and was able to get it scheduled for Friday.
Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Moises and Evan who came to install my new gas furnace. These guys were great. They arrived on time, they worked cleanly, and they were professional. Moises explained some questions I had about the new furnace and showed me how to operate the new thermostat. These guys have made a customer for life. Don't waste your time with another company.

TL;DR - this is the only company you need.

I first had Chris out this past spring when our AC wasn’t running well he quickly found the issue made an adjustment explained what he did and educated me on how to maintain our unit so it runs more efficiently for a longer period of time! Just this week he came out to do a full inspection of our heating unit, gas lines and electrical. Again he was great at educating me on the basics so I know when to call him if I need something or how to tweek something myself. Chris is the owner and is Awesome!!!!

This was our first purchase of a heat pump system and we could not have been happier with Chris Mahoney and Pro-Tech HVAC Home. Chris was attentive, explained everything to us clearly, and had us a competitive quite that day. Install was efficient and detailed. From when I first called and was able to talk to someone who was knowledgeable & listened to me describe my AC problem, to when he came out and efficiently worked on and fixed it, I felt so lucky that I had found them. Around a week prior, another AC company had came out, but didn't help and didn't give me any options other than trying to pass it to an electrician (I found out the expensive way that this wasn't right). Pro-Tech was able to find and resolve the problem in a little over an hour. They worked hard and efficiently, the price was extremely fair & to top it off, very personable and professional. Pro-Tech has saved my summer!

Chris knows the meaning of customer goodwill and did not charge us for service calls that did not resolve our issue when it became clear that it could not be fixed - without expectation of further business. In the end we replaced the system and trusted him to size it appropriately and they were able to turn it around and install within a week. Throughout, he was punctual, responsive, and easy to communicate with.

The absolute best. Pro-Tech came out to my house on short notice when the A/C went out on a hot summer day. The owner of the company replaced the capacitor on my heat pump for hundreds of dollars less than other quotes that I received. I can’t recommend them enough! Also worth noting, the company donates significantly to our local hiking and biking trails. Thanks for the excellent service and for making our area a better place to live!! Customer for life!

I could not be more pleased with the services that Chris and Pro Tech provided. Chris and Pro Tech were responsive, punctual and very informative. I needed to get a fan blade for my unit replaced after a tree removal company let wood chips fall into my HVAC unit during a tree removal. Chris educated me every step of the way and I felt very confident in their knowledge, efficiency and skill. As an owner of an insurance agency, I would not hesitate to recommend Pro Tech to my own clients if they are in need of HVAC services or general advice. Pro Tech is a top notch company and I will be using them for all of my HVAC needs moving forward.

We recently bought our first home in Annapolis and had an issue with the heating system and how it had been set up by the previous owner. Reached out to the local community for a recommendation and found Chris and Pro-Tech. He came out just as soon as he could, fixed the issue, and took a look at the rest of the HVAC system for us while he was there. We signed up to get an AirCon inspection and maintenance in the Spring. Just finished up, great job and price. Very personable and on time also. Will be using them in the future if and when we have problems or our yearly maintenance.

We've used Pro-Tech on multiple occasions and have always been extremely impressed and satisfied with their services. We recently had Gabriel Mangano in for our annual inspection and dehumidifier improvements. He was very friendly, conscientious, knowledgeable and professional. Pro-Tech is top notch!

Chris was went out of his way to fix our HVAC unit in order to help us avoid replacing the whole system. He clearly cares about his customers and wants to help them save money. Last winter our HVAC system stopped working. And of course it was in the middle of winter. Contacted Pro-Tech based on the advice from a community Facebook group. Had had another company out previously that I wasn't thrilled with. The service was top notch. Chris wad friendly, professional, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. Turns out the other company installed the wrong fuse in the outside unit and it was loose, which is why the system was shutting off. My experience last winter sold me on the fact that I would never call another HVAC company besides Pro-Tech.

Fast forward to this winter. Lost our heat again. Completely different issue, our thermostat decided to die on us, but wasn't sure why the system had stopped working at the time. Called Pro-Tech again and Chris was able to quickly diagnose the issue, help me find a new thermostat that would work with the wiring and harness already present and gave me detailed instructions on setting up the new system once it arrived via Amazon. So we have heat again!

Take my advice. If you need HVAC service and want a company you can trust, this is who you should call.

I can't recommend Chris and his team at Pro-Tech HVAC enough! When our system broke down last summer, we had already collected several quotes for a replacement. Chris’s quote was not only the most affordable, but he stood out for his honesty and genuine care for our overall home needs. He suggested we get an energy audit to look into insulation and other improvements- recommendations that actually meant less business for him, but ensured we were making the right decisions for our home. We ended up replacing the system, and it’s been running perfectly ever since. When our back system then broke this summer, Chris quickly identified the issue and had it up and running the next day. You can tell Chris’s team shares his values- they're honest, hardworking, and clearly committed to doing what’s right for the customer. We’re definitely lifetime customers now and won’t trust anyone else with our HVAC needs!

Two years ago I paid $12,000 for a state of the art HVAC system from Pro-tech. Today, the heat failed. I called and texted for help. No response. I get it, they may be busy, but at a minimum they could text back and say, “we’re busy, will get back to you as soon as we can. “

There are a lot of companies who sell HVAC systems. It’s in your best interest to find one that actually has customer service.
