Hourly rate is shocking - I’d even call it predatory. Really nice guy Sahmeed did the work for me and this is no slight against him.

The job:
Replace an angle stop (shut off valve) for my toilet.

The labor:
$284 for an hour
30 minutes of that was him literally sitting on my stairs waiting for glue to dry. No exaggeration.
And that included a discount for being a landlord. Normal residential cost was around $400 for an hour!!

The parts:
$42 for for parts that would cost $10 at Home Depot

Oh, and if you are considering Catons because you might have been looking for a local company, just know they’re wholly owned by ROTO ROOTER. Probably explains some of this.

DO NOT recommend.

Naturally, their default response is “we can’t find your record in our system” which is designed to question the legitimacy of the review, even though I provided the name of their employee. I submitted my information to them and will update the review if they do anything about it.

Cartons plumbing did a great job! The technician diagnosed the issue quickly and the problem was fixed in a very short amount of time. I will call them again if needed.

The did an excellent job fixing the mistake that a paving company caused. Each and every employee explained the cause in full details. I have used your service before and that's why trust you communication and excellent service. Keep up the good work. Well done job.

From start to finish it was a great experience! Gimel was prompt in coming to my home to quote me and was incredibly personable. Got me a quote the same day and was able to get the job completed almost immediately. The workers who came were also fantastic - keeping me both entertained and updated and I was more than happy with their work.

Our service technician (Ryan) was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable and he gave suggestions on preventing other issues with our garbage disposal.

They came out gave a fair price and removed my shut off valve all in under 3hours. The tech was chill and knew what he was doing.

Dave was phenomenal. Communicated with me every problem that was wrong with my washer drain pipe, and was transparent in how much each repair/service would cost. And fixed the problem very well.

Catons Plumbing saved the day today! I returned to the US after being overseas for months and walked into all kinds of problems from some work done by an unlicensed Plumbing contractor off of Thumbtack that had no idea what he was doing!!! Never ever use that website! I called around and other company's were talking about WEEKS before an appointment.

I finally got to Catons and rang the phone. Emailing companies or sending text messages is just not something I think 🤔 anyone needs when you need a plumber! I was very happy to reach a sweet soul on the phone who was so bubbly and happy and helpful!!! They had an opening recently opened up if I was available at 1:00pm. I said, "YES"!! It was like 11:30am when I called. The Plumbers arrived onsite and Gerson was phenomenal! I mean, he was like a genius! I was busy doing remote telework and didn't have time to hover/watch what work was being done. I saw they had a branded truck 🚛 so I had trust if they can afford company trucks, they can afford quality people and Gerson was absolutely amazing to work with!!!

He greeted me and we walked and looked at the problem with the toilet and the sink. He quickly diagnosed the problem and I went back to my conference call and Gerson got to work. OUTSTANDING!! He finished in a reasonable amount of time! He was very respectful and professional. I had a conference call going and he didn't interrupt until he finished his work.

We had a sewage back up in our home basement. We called Caton as I had recalled a prior good experience with them. They came same day and didn’t charge for the call. Amazing! Ramon, the plumber, was very helpful in explaining the situation. He used a long snake which ended up being somewhat expensive. However, That service included a follow up visit, where a pipe camera was used. It revealed a clog in our very old cast iron pipes.

A mystery for the ages. DJ, my tech, did an admirable job attempting to locate a leak in the ceiling. He spent way more time than I would have trying to find it. While he was not successful, it certainly not for lack of trying. Will certainly keep him on speed dial when the leak finally decides to show its ugly face.

Caton arrived same day and arranged the work immediately and even gave us time to think it over. They were professional, friendly, and had us back in hot water the same day! Will definitely keep them in our Rolodex for all future plumbing needs!
