Mike was great! He took the time to explain what he was doing. He honored my decision about which option I went with to fix my faucet. He was not pushy about what I should do. He allowed me to watch his work. He is very friendly and so kind. I highly recommend this company for many reasons and one is that they strive for excellence with their job.

I had Mike for replacing the sump pump. Even though Mike was very friendly and doing the quick work. However, the more I researched about the sump pump replacement, the more I regret about the rush decision. I was speechless when knowing that they charged me $998 for a $250 pump + their professional service. I would highly recommend anyone to read the estimate more carefully before signing and let them replace, because there is no return.

Thanks again for choosing Mountaineer!” I tried to contact them again as giving them another chance since I want to install a backup sump pump. After 2 phone calls, they told me that they will not do any business with me because I gave them a bad review. I can’t believe how a big company treat their customer like that. “Great job, guys!”

This company was professional and kind from the very initial call. It was a weekend so we were unsure if we would be able to get a plumber out before Monday. The office staff was helpful in giving us options and pricing info and times for getting a technician here. Our technician Chris was quick to diagnose the problem and get to fixing it. He was able to break down the pricing options for services that we need/could have done. The work he did was done timely and done well.

Received estimate for bringing gas line to laundry up to code after delivery company refused to install new gas clothes dryer. Chris K came out initially. Assessed the situation, and arranged for master plumber to assess. They waived service fee which was nice. Worked out a solution. Very easy to schedule service. Communication with the office is outstanding and they return calls and emails promptly. They were able to solve the issue, and even took care of paint touch ups, cleaned up, and we were both very impressed. On time service. Notifications by text who would be arriving and when. I felt they were very professional and the process was simple. Chris K and Austin B did outstanding work. They were 5 star.

UPDATE* new review. Had a problem with a toilet and they were available same day and fixed the issue extremely fast. Works now. Very happy. Very professional. The technician assigned Mike Brown did an outstanding job. Very courteous. 5 stars

Fantastic experience with Mountaineer plumbing. Nick was polite and easy to work with...and most of all HONEST about a plumbing issue that we were having that another company tried scaring us about.

The rates were very reasonable and he was also very diligent about his clean up after the work was done.

Mike and Andrew did an excellent job and I will 100% call them again without hesitation when we need more work done. Both of them are extremely professional and friendly. We got the run around from a couple of different companies. Our leaky pipes weren't going to get fixed for a week and then they called and canceled and said another week. DISAPPOINTED! Frustrated, I called Mountaineer they sent someone out within 2 hours of my call...he quoted us a fair price and he fixed it beautifully that day. He stated he would be back first thing in the morning to fix the other half in case something happened in case the city needed to be called regarding the water shut off. Andrew was here he was prompt he was nice and he did a great job! No monkeying around...now we can finish our bathroom remodel. Thanks so much for a job well done...I highly recommend!

We first called in June for figuring out outdoor flooding issue others tried and didn’t. Immediate response brought Mike Brown & Chris Kuhn who diagnosed one day and fixed issue the next. Great work, knowledgeable & courteous. Second call the end of September was because installers of new dishwasher couldn’t perform unexpected needed plumbing work. Andrew Dubois & Nick Fields came same day we called & returned the next to do more requested work. Like before, great work, knowledgeable & courteous. Mountaineer simply responds in amazingly quick fashion! They’re our “go-to” plumbers..

Chris was friendly and respectful to me and my home. I feel confident that he fixed the problem. I will in the future have him come to replace other older pipes in my home. I was very comfortable with him. His timeframe was great as well. Thank you Chris for your expertise. Job well done.

Fast service but they wanted to charge me $330 for $10 in parts and 15 min of work. When asked why so much I was told they have expensive vans to pay for. At their rates I would suggest hiring a Doctor or Attorney to fix your plumbing. It’s cheaper by the hour. I even had a refrigerator repairman here laughing at their prices! Granted I got a discount and paid $195 for 15 minutes but don’t be fooled by their BS rate charges!! Will never use again!!!

Everything was great, from the initial phone call with their excellent office professionals to the fast appointment, text update and on-time arrival of their highly qualified plumber Levi, his accurate and excellent diagnostics and remedy with their state-of-the-art equipment, discussing the issues and options, then completing the job and making sure everything was clean before he left, I am SUPER happy and Levi did a FANTASTIC job!!! From my initial contact, through scheduling a first visit, and then arrival and walk-through with their technician I felt comfortable.

Chris was knowledgeable and listened to my information and ideas. He walked me through the project process and answered questions. He put together a few quotes so I would have options.

I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision before having time to mull over everything. While I haven’t finalized anything yet, I’m very pleased with this experience so far.

I have used Mountaineer Plumbing twice and I couldn’t believe the professionalism and quickness of this company. First time I called them, they came within a hour and let me know that what I needed done was a commercial job and recommended me the best company for it. Worked out great! The second time was today, I called them for a plumbing issue with two toilets and they came out within a half hour and the techs name was Mike, same tech from last time. Super nice, super knowledgeable guy. I can’t thank Mike enough or be happier with the service. Fixed our toilets in 30 minutes. Truly an amazing professional company, something that is rare to see professionalism like this in 2023. DEF THE BEST COMPANY I HAVE EXPERIENCED and I have been in business for 15+ years in downtown Grand Rapids!

Called and told them of the issues I'm having and that I have a plumbing system that goes though time (Galvanized, brass, PVC, PEX), and I was looking to replace it. The technician was very professional, and punctual. He took one look at the plumbing and agreed that I should replace it. Explained everything they would do, and came back a few minutes later with a breakdown of prices.

The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because when I was emailed the invoice and the estimate, for some reason the estimate section was a blank page. I called the office and they forwarded me another copy, but same result. They assured me that someone will reach out to me and make sure it's handled. Overall it was quick and even with a big project like mine, scheduling wouldn't be too far out.

Update:
They were able to send me my quotes and I scheduled the work. They were able to come out sooner than expected, they did a great job updating all the lines, installed shut off valves, and replaced our toilet. They cleaned up their work area very well, and tested all our faucets. Thoroughly happy with their service.

Total rip off… don’t use them. Charged me 800 dollars to install a new flapper inside the toilet and to install an already purchased shower head. Their prices are extremely inflated and the shower head leaks. Had my fiancés dad come and tighten the shower head and put Teflon tape that the installed didn’t do.

David, from Mountaineer plumbing, was a rock star. The whole experience from calling to schedule to the service was exceptional! We called at 2:30pm and they came out and completed the job before 5pm.

Mountaineer plumbing was excellent, my water heater went out yesterday. Today I gave them a call at 7am to come out and look at it and by 10:30am I now have a new water heater. Tim was very polite and professional and worked in a timely manner, the work was affordable and they offer financing. I had a very pleasant experience and will use them again for future plumbing needs.

05/31/24: Hired them through Vredevoogd on a gas leak, which if you know, it's the single most expensive emergency repair you have to do. That said, the two gentlemen came with knowledge, expertise and efficiency on sealing the leak. I can till feel the heavy bill, but they did the work well and I'm glad they are the ones that did our gas repair.

Technician came to the house and gave a quote to replace an old sink with a new one that we already bought. The quote: $1,700. To replace a sink and faucet that we already had. That. Is. Ridiculous. When we said we didn't think that was anywhere near a fair price, he got all defensive and rude. He also said it was a double basin sink when it was clearly a single basin sink. No way were we going to pay anywhere near that amount for an install, but even if the price was fair, we wouldn't give him money when he couldn't even tell the difference between a single and double basin sink.

Mountaineer Plumbing was a pleasure to work with. I needed a water heater replaced and scheduling was very easy. A tech was out within a few hours of my request and within the timeframe selected. Excellent communication from the scheduler and the technician, Mike. We transitioned from a tank to a tankless system, which took an entire day. It was a Friday and Mike needed a different part to complete the job. When he finished it was late in the evening and no way to get the needed part that night. He was out first thing Saturday morning, his day off, with the needed part to complete the project. He walked us through everything we needed to know about our new water heater. I highly recommend Mountaineer Plumbing and will definitely call them for any future needs. Friendly, professional, excellent communication, clean and thorough.

I found a cracked drain in my basement. Roto Rooter wanted to charge me $4,500. I called Mountaineer because they did a great job for me about a week prior with my water heater. They came out within about a couple hours of me calling. For much cheaper than Roto Rooter, they were able to fix the cracked drain (including jacking up concrete), fix some piping under my sink that was not up to code, AND give me a drain cleaning. It was all done same-day, except for the drain cleaning, which they did the following morning.

I also had a home warranty company that was a bit of a pain to work with, but with their help I was able to get the max reimbursement under the warranty for cracked drains. Would recommend. My only complaint is that they didn't have a Mountaineer Plumbing magnet to stick on my fridge. They better get on that!!
