I had a sewer backup emergency on labor day weekend. I contacted this company after being convinced, by not only one but multiple plumbing companies, Roto Rooter among them, that the main sewer pipe in my house had to be digged and repaired due to root intrusion. i was quoted $6000 by another company for the repair, not including fixing landscape afterwards which I would have had to contract separately. Kevin (the owner) promptly called me back and after a brief phone conversation agreed to review a sewer camera video I had obtained from one of the many plumbers that had come to my house. He called me back a day later and not only had he assessed my options from the video but had also called the city to find out when the PVC liner had been installed and by who since I didn’t know. To my surprise, he was very confident that clearing the roots with 6" blade was an option and no digging was necessary if I was willing to regularly clearing the roots (every other year or so). He recommended I give a call to Ron the Sewer Rat to do that work and sure enough that worked beautifully. Kevin saved me from having to spend thousands of dollars and was honest and explained every option to me even though he didn't end up getting any business in the process. If and when I need to repair the sewer line in the future I will definitely go with Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water. Thank you so much Kevin!!!

Having an unnatural spring – bubbling up in your front yard and flooding into the street – is not a good way to start the day. It turned out that our water line from the street into the house had broke and, according to a city Water Dept employee who came out, we needed a new line.

Out of the seven companies I contacted, only two returned my emails or phone call. Ron from Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water was one of them (and certainly the nicest and most generous).

I could immediately tell that he was full of integrity and genuinely interested in me getting the best time line and solution to my major water issue … even if that meant me selecting a competitor. He walked me through my options – clearly laying out pros and cons within the context of my needs, which he actually inquired about – and didn’t make any promises he couldn’t keep.

Up until his crew did the work, Ron was in constant contact with me. The crew hit some unexpected challenges while doing the work and, just like Ron, were patient in holding my hand through the options. I was impressed with the speed and quality of their work. When tree roots in our sewer line became more than any cleaning service could handle, and the piece that connects our sewer line to the city’s needed replacing, no one wanted to fix it without costing an arm and a leg because it was too small of a job. Not only were the Hoyhtyas and their crew willing to do the job at an affordable price in the dead of winter, they scheduled us in quickly. That was especially appreciated, as we had been taking extreme measures to keep the sewer from backing up into our basement.

They were quick in their work, patient with our questions, and very knowledgeable and experienced. The repair was a two-step process, and they wisely waited until summer for the second step, as that involved temperature-sensitive curing. On top of all that, when we had a backup later that had nothing to do with their work, they diagnosed it for us over the phone for free! (We needed the interior line cleaned out.)

They’re a local, multi-generation family business that’s been around for over 30 years. Quick, affordable, honest, and experienced--I can’t recommend them enough.

I had my sewer pipe lined by Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer and Water. The experience was made as painless as possible. Kevin and the rest of the team were very responsive and communicated throughout the process. As the work was being done, the crew were very detailed and were certain to respect our space and time. They even took care to wear gloves and take off their shoes so as to not track in dirt or mark the walls etc. The work was completed in a very professional manner and I was able to view the work on a camera with the city inspector following the completion of the liner to assure everything looked correct. I would recommend this service to anyone needing it done.

We learned we had a partial collapse of our sewer between our house and the city sewer line that caused back-up to the house. Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer was referred to us. They ended up digging down 8-9 feet in the yard and replacing 15 feet of pipe. The didn't know at the onset how much pipe they'd need to replace, but gave us a clear estimate for each likely scenario. The crew arrived on time, worked hard and were incredibly pleasant despite the bitter cold. Our main contact throughout was Ron, who is about the most down-to-earth, honest person you could hope to meet. He came back to the house a couple times after the replacement for some finishing touches on the inside as he had an idea of how we could make our sewer cleanout access look better. He also was readily available on the phone with any questions we had. While these repairs aren't inexpensive, I think Mpls Sewer and Water offer excellent value for money and are entirely trustworthy. They'll be our first and only call for any future needs.

Ron, Kevin and crew were excellent to work with and provided wonderful service. When our water line broke, Ron was here on New Year's Day to provide us with a bid and got back to us the next day. The team showed up when they were scheduled and took care of all set up details; they asked appropriate questions of homeowner before proceeding and always kept us informed. After completing their work, they made certain they had cleaned up all areas and even came back the next day for a final look. We were extremely pleased with them on all counts and would highly recommend!

Very impressed by the attention to detail and professionalism from start to finish. I was in a time-sensitive bind and this company worked efficiently and thoroughly to help me out. Kevin returned my phone call promptly (*after-hours and in the evening) and explained my different options/repairs that would benefit my sewer. Communication was excellent from initial phone call to rounding back when the repairs were complete and explaining was what done. Hands down, Kevin, Ron, and their team are the best service providers we have ever worked with. We discovered a belly in our home's sewer line that we wanted fixed and lined for peace of mind. Kevin and Ron provided a quote and scoping free of charge. We received a couple other quotes and Minneapolis and Suburban Sewer was the most competitive and seemed the most confident in the scope of the work. The work repair process was quick, smooth, and after digging up our yard, you couldn't even tell they were there afterwards. These guys are great! We had a portion of sewer line break and needed to be repaired under our driveway. They clearly communicated what costs would look like depending on what route they needed to go for repairs (1 hole vs. 2). While onsite for the repair, they had consistent communication on when water would be shut off and what they needed. Luckily they were able to get the job done with only 1 hole needing to be opened. I hopefully will never need to use their services again, but will be my first call if I have issues again with my sewer line. Thank you!

Minneapolis sewer and water were extremly professional and timely. They even carefully hand dug out and replaced my landscaping plants/ sod— a day later you couldn’t tell they were there!

Very poor communication from Kevin led to THREE weeks of my time wasted with asking for quotes for a liner for our sewer that the city approved. He’ll answer the phone with “oh yeah saw your email(s), but I’m on the job site right now, I’ll get to it later.” Happened FOUR different times over multiple weeks of reaching out. I had been sent from Ron the Sewer Rat to Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer and Water for repair concerns, but if you’re looking for good communication I’d look elsewhere.

Great communication and explanation from Ron and Kevin. They spent extra time to get the new line under front porch just right. Crew worked hard for 3 days, all were respectful. Took care to remove perennials at my direction and replanted a shrub. Highly recommend!

Extraordinary customer service and attention to the job. After MSSW installed a new sewer line out to the street, the City of Mpls crushed it while doing street repairs. Kevin at MSSW communicated with the city and got the repairs done. All while under a deadline due to the house sale.

We recently had Minneapolis and Suburban Sewer and Water repair and line our sewer pipe. The Company was highly recommended by our plumber and our drain cleaner; and we were not disappointed. One phone call answered by Kevin, one of the owners, and we had all the answers to our questions about the process. A real Family operation; on the scheduled day the three brothers Kevin, Ron, and Mark came with all the equipment and their crew. They worked very efficiently and it was fascinating to watch how they all knew exactly what task had to be performed next. Very experienced. You can tell the Company was started by their Father and they have been doing this all of their lives. They are also a very friendly group with all the conversation you would expect among people working together for a long time. You always had the impression that it was most important that they got the repair and lining just right. I am 100 percent confident in the result. The product they install is also very impressive. Using a high tech product and installation you basically have a new PVC pipe inside your old sewer line. I don't expect I will have to think about it again. I highly recommend Minneapolis and Suburban Sewer and Water without hesitation.
