Hamtil Construction transformed our only full bathroom into a master bath going into our bedroom. In addition they reconstructed a small bedroom into a full hall bath. Many options were discussed and decisions made based on our goals and an older style home. They were wonderful to work with and provided knowledge at each stage from the planning to the construction. As any challenges or issued arrived we were well informed and discussed our options for the best results. Our new bathrooms are a beautiful part to our older home.

Great team. We have worked with them for 5-6 different projects including main floor remodel, front entry, flatwork, patios, deck, bathroom remodel, basement remodel and even small projects like a custom corner cabinet. All work is done to exacting precision and all efforts are made to make sure you are well prepared, informed, and engaged through the process. We have become somewhat old acquaintances at this point and Ive even reached out to them for advice on DIY projects concerning materials, methods and techniques. They even donated materials for one of my son's Scout projects. They are design and build focused, but also just solid business owners who treat their workers well. One day they did not show up to work (planned ahead, it was on their work planning calendar) so that they could do volunteer work for the community. Their work will not be cheap, but these are folks who will get it done, professionally, with permits and plans, and will SHOW UP and FOLLOW UP. Any issue I have had (even years later), they will investigate to make sure its not an issue related to shifting/settling or construction issue. If your looking for the cheapest you can go, look elsewhere. If you want to just make sure its done, correctly, with no surprises or glitches, go with Hamtil.

We could not be happier with our experience with Paul and Dave Hamtil. They are experts at running a professional, organized, efficient and clean project. The end result looks better than we envisioned, and we are looking forward to working with Paul and Dave again on future projects.
Background: We heard about Hamtil Construction from an aunt/uncle, who were extremely satisfied with their recent remodel. After checking out Hamtil’s reviews online, we quickly setup a time to have Paul come over to bid our project. When he came out for the estimate, Paul was timely, professional and asked all the right questions. He provided a detailed estimate a few days later and was able to accommodate our somewhat-ridiculous time frame (we only had a week to complete construction prior to our move-in date). We signed the contract and met Paul (on a Sunday afternoon snow day!) at the house to finalize logistics for the work starting on Monday. Dave managed / completed all the work at our home. The project included removing half of a wall between the kitchen and dining room, restructuring header/doorway, adding electrical outlets/circuit and installing quartz countertops. Dave just spent the first day just prepping – he laid RAM Board on all the floors and installed temporary plastic walls to contain all dust/debris. It was impressive – my wife joked it looked like a scene from Dexter (haha). Dave worked hard on our project, often staying until 6:00 pm or later to finish various steps. He would call/text if he had questions throughout the day. One day he noticed some improper electrical work, so we worked out a change order over the phone to immediately correct it. As promised, the work was completed on Friday (one week), and the special order quartz counter-tops were installed the following Monday. Paul had supervised the counter-top template, and Dave managed the install. They left everything spotless before they left. Our overall experience was fantastic.

I was very happy with the work that Hamtil did for me. We remodeled our upstairs and master suite. The work they did was great, they only use experienced people who have great attention to detail. They also stayed right on schedule. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I met with a number on contractors and ended up going with Hamtil for my full remodel plus new garage construction. I am so glad I went with Hamtil and highly recommend them. Excellent communication, service, and quality of work. I will go with them again for any future remodeling/new construction.

We had an amazing experience working with Hamtil Construction. We couldn’t be happier with the beauty and craftsmanship displayed in our finished project. We started talking to Hamtil in 2019, but due some personal dynamics in our lives, as well as a global pandemic, we pushed our project until March 2021. By then, what started as redoing our master bathroom, turned into completely redoing three bathrooms and all the flooring on our second floor. We lived with these guys for three months; bless their hearts.
I would say, in addition to the high-quality product you end up with, the reasons you should use Hamtil Construction for your project fall in three categories: communication, conscientiousness, and crews. They are amazing communicators and keep you updated with their schedule and who will be in your house on a regular basis. They ask for your feedback along the way, and they were very patient with all the "dumb" questions we asked. They were very conscientious in trying to keep a very messy project clean and the least intrusive for us as we lived in the house, though in the basement, during the project. Their crews are amazing and are very dedicated to getting the project done to your satisfaction and to a very high standard.
I have to call out these folks. We started with “Passionate Paul” who wants you to have the project you want, and know what that all entails to do it right, while keeping in mind the details. How many times can we talk about robe hooks and light fixtures? Then we met “Kreative Kerry” from Youtopia Design, whose design skills were amazing. She gave us wonderful choices that made the project uniquely ours. Then we met “Steadfast Stephen”, who, though super quiet, was everywhere and just got stuff done. We had “Diligent Dominic”, our electrician, who was just nose to the grindstone in installing so many lights and smoke detectors. We had “Jammin’ Jesse” the tile guy for six weeks. He is a true artist and got us all channeling his love for music. “Sweet Sam”, our other tile artist, also did tile work for us during that time. (Because we had a lot of tile to install.) We also got to work with “Charming Connor”, who we didn’t see a lot, but he patiently listened to me go on and on about robe hook and towel hook placement options. Then there was “Butter Pecan Brent”. Brent did it all on our project and put up with us the most. He was our 5% guy who got the project over the finish line and kept us all friends in the process. (He also taught me where I should be charging my phone.) And last, but certainly not least, is the “Dynamic Dave Hamtil”. He was everywhere, from overseeing all the crews, vendors, and suppliers, to providing client, and marriage counseling to us on the side.

They just changed a shower into a laundry room for me. They were neat, professional, did good work and even finished on schedule. What’s not to like?

We had an absolutely fabulous experience with the Hamtils. They completely rehabbed our dining room- rescuing it from the 70's. This included an innovative tin ceiling, very detailed trim and a custom built-in bookshelf unit. They redid our bathroom and also did some smaller jobs. All of the subcontractors they use for specific jobs (installing wood flooring, tiling a shower, etc.) were also of equal quality.

Paul and Dave are always straightforward, they do good work and they sometimes leave the jobsite cleaner than they found it. Even when scheduling snafus happen, as happen with any contractor, you never feel that you are left in the lurch and they are always good at communicating any changes necessary. I always trusted them to work at my home when I wasn't there and to do the job they said they would do.

Highly recommend.

I have recommended Hamtil Construction to my clients (real estate) for items needing improvement or repair before coming on the market and they have always done a wonderful job at a reasonable price. When I needed some work done on my own home, I had no hesitation on calling Paul and Dave for a quote. The price for the work involved seemed very reasonable and they had the projects down on the books for the following week. They allowed me to leave a key in their lockbox for them to gain entry to house while I wasn't there and they were finished with the work after two days as promised. My husband and I are extremely happy with the work completed by Hamtil. They suggested a unique idea for enlarging our bathroom that others had not. Hamtil Construction has just completed its second wonderful project for my family. The first one (2017) involved gutting and remodeling an upstairs bathroom in on our 75 year-old home. They also built a linen closet adjacent to the bath. For our second project (2024), the Hamtils created a main floor laundry closet for our new stacked washer and dryer.
