my father had two appliance issues. One was a clogged dishwasher, which you guys came out and fixed immediately. And then he purchased a new refrigerator from Lowe’s and there was an issue with the icemaker the next week another individual came out took care of that problem, very friendly very professional will always use these folks!

I am very disappointed with my recent service experience. The technician walked in, looked at the error code on my washer, and immediately said the motor was bad—without doing any real troubleshooting. I had to specifically ask him to check whether the sensor could be the problem instead.
After insisting the motor was the issue, he went back to his van to write up a quote. While doing so, he told me the repair would be expensive and that I’d probably just tell him to “kick rocks.” That comment alone felt unprofessional and dismissive.
I reminded him that I had the same problem last year and that the sensor had been replaced at that time. He didn’t have much confidence in the previous technician’s work, but after looking up my service history, he saw that the sensor replacement was indeed valid. Even then, he said he doesn’t like to replace just the sensor and prefers to swap out multiple parts instead. He eventually wrote up a second quote for me, but it was still nearly $400—on top of the $150 (Labor alone was $300) I had already paid for the service call.
The whole experience left me feeling like the tech didn’t really want to deal with my washer simply because it’s about 10 years old. Instead of offering practical solutions or trying to save me money, he seemed more interested in getting on to the next call. Most customers don’t know the technical details of appliance repair, which is why we rely on service companies for honest guidance. In this case, I felt the value and effort were severely lacking.
Overall, I paid a high fee for a visit that didn’t give me confidence in either the recommendations or the customer care. I expected Ortega’s to provide knowledgeable service and fair options, but this experience was frustrating, unhelpful, and disappointing. -
I was having issues with my brand new Frigidaire refrigerator basically from Day 1. The fridge's warranty service is why I found out about Ortega's. The tech, Ramone, was great! The fridge proved more problematic than expected, but Ramone was able to fix my fridge.
I will be using them again if I need an appliance repaired! -
He " reset to factory settings" and I haven't had a burning smell since.
They told me the appointment would be between noon and 5pm. He called at 11:43, abrasively warned of his arrival, and arrived before noon. He called his office to complain about me not being there ; I arrived home withing the thirty min warning time 12:05.
He's a cranky guy and I will be respectively requesting for any other company next appliance complaint. -
We had our Whirlpool refrigerator repaired today by Robert M. He arrived on time and was very professional. He explained everything and answered all my questions. He tested other options to fix the unit before finding we had a faulty water valve. He had the part on hand and was able to fix it quickly. No nonsense, fair and honest pricing. Look no further than Ortega’s. I had never used them, and am happy with my choice. Will definetly use them again.

This company is so good, technically savvy, communication is on another level. The technician was thorough, asked lots of questions and made recommendations, warranted their quote for a new motor for my dryer for 30 days, very impressive, up-front and honest!

Tech was great. Very nice and on time. He was honest and very helpful. I would love to have him help me again. He was easy to talk to. Thanks for the excellent service.

Ortegas arrived promptly on time & immediately answered our most pressing worry. Serviceman was also able to help me decide on the wisest course of action to take on a 23 yr old range.

Great service on a call for a broken dishwasher. It would've been cost-prohibitive for us to fix it in the end, but the guy who came out was great. He tried a few things to get it going again and when it became apparent the washer couldn't really be repaired he gave us some good advice on buying a replacement. Definitely would call them again for another repair.

The door of our oven was broken and we could not open the door. The technician came late in the day and was able to open the door to replace the hinge. He was here until close to 7pm.
He was very professional and did a great job. -
Josh was my technician -- he was amazing. He worked through the problem with my Gaggenau steam oven (under warranty), got it working in time for Thanksgiving, and returned two weeks later with a part to do a complete repair. I couldn't be more pleased with Ortega's Appliance Service, and especially Josh. Thank you!

DO NOT RECOMMEND
Something electronic gave out in my 2 year old washer. Called Ortega's and scheduled a week later. The guy came and behaved like I asked him to come in on his day off. He installed a part that, regardless of whether or not it fixed the problem, I had to pay for ($400+). It did not work. So then he said it's probably the control panel, but he didn't have one. Another week later he comes back, installs the part, leaves my washer unbalanced and in the corner, says it's fixed, charges me, and doesn't restack the dryer. I called right away to get him back and they say I have to wait until he has an open appt. I've had to take 3 days off work for this. The kicker is that they charged me more than a brand new one is. I called again and they seem to have no interest in making this right. Two thumbs down and I still can't use my washer or dryer, yet the "job is done."
Update, the guy came back, moved my washer into the corner and showed me it was level. Problem is that he didn't leave room for the dryer piece that the lint leaves through and still wouldn't help me put the dryer back on without an extra charge. So, do not recommend.
Update, got a call from Ortega's saying that the technician wrote in his notes that he didn't even install a part on the first trip he made to my house, which he did. He did, and told me it didn't work so he needed another part, but had to charge me for the 1st part since he already installed it. The customer service person that called me because of this review said that her technicians don't lie, interfering that I'm the liar. I have pictures of the install on the first day and of today. (Camera in the room to watch my dog door). Supposedly I'll get a call from the owner about this.
Update 1/23/25
Response from the owner is all correct except the part where he says the technician told me he would take off the part and only charge the service fee. That is a lie and yes I'm calling the technician and the owner a liar. The technician said that if he installed it, that I had to pay for it no matter what. If I had gotten the option to just lose the service charge, I would've told him to take his non working part and leave. As the full service to get my washer fixed was over $800 and took 3 weeks. A new one costs about $750. When I was called about this bad review, I was told the technician wrote in his notes that he didn't install any parts on the 1st visit, but I have pictures. See my yelp review.
Do not use Ortega's for any service, you will get ripped off.
Update 1/29/25
Manny from Ortega's emailed me and offered a full refund if they got to come and take back the parts installed. I declined and asked for a discount for the trouble and he gave me a 20% discount. Thank you. -
Robert was on time and ready to help. He quickly dianosised the problem. It was a sricky gas valve ignititor on our dryer. It was recommended to wait until the part failed before replacing it. Ortega's is first class. They repaired the washer several minths ago. When this noise developed with the dryer I knew who to call.

First experience with this company went well. While they give the typical 5 hour arrival window, they allow you to view the tech's progress so it's easy to know when to expect them. The tech diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it without requiring any new parts. Repair took him 45 minutes for total cost of $258.

Ortega fixed my refrigerator recently. The guy was extremely polite and professional. The fix was easy so they barely charged me. He explained how not to make the same mistake again.

Fridge broke and we called Ortega's over the weekend and they arrived today to have a look at it. Tech guy seemed nice and somewhat knowledgeable.
Barely was there for an hour, slapped some part that did not do anything at all. Told me it was the compressor that failed and that it would be a $700+ repair charge, Gave me an estimate of $1300+, with a $174 piece and a $81 mysteriously costing a total of $460 in just PARTS ALONE with two items only in that estimate and a whopping $750 cost on Labor for a $750 Refrigerator.
I do not understand how the Parts Total came out to be that high for two listed items but it is egregious to list 2 items and have it a wildly different price and I will not be considering future service calls from here. -
The washing machine was under warranty through Costco. Ortega’s appliance service contacted me after hearing from Costco to confirm an appointment, she was able to get me in early because of a cancellation. The technician got there, check out the washing machine and had it repaired in a couple of hours. The service was great and experience with Ortega‘s appliance service was very pleasing and I would recommend them to anyone that needed anything fixed.

Horrible experience they scheduled with me twice and never ended up doing any maintenance on my washing machine. First time they never showed up and I just waited and waited for them and they never arrived . When I called them they stated they did not have my correct phone number and they didn’t have me on the schedule at all . Then they rescheduled me for the next day and stated they would be there between 8am to12pm . I called them because again they where not showing up , they then stated they would not be there until there last appt of the day between 3-5pm . I told them I was not home because they gave me a window from 3-5 . Then the rude tech said well I’m ready now and if not, I’m just gonna call the office and you’ll just have to schedule for another time. I tried to explain that the window was from 3 to 5 and that I expected them to be there at that time and he continued to say no I can either do it now or you can reschedule. Then the rude manager called me and said the tech is ready now if not, I’m sending it back to GE and they can just find someone else to fix your appliance. Horrible service do not go here. Super unprofessional, both the tech and the manager sad…

Ramon was the tech who helped me with my warranty issues. He was pleasant, professional, and efficient. He fixed the ice dispenser I called in anbout and while he was here, straightened out the crooked doors and showed me a couple of features I didn’t know I had. Ramon was a very positive representative for this company. Five stars!!
