Used Gustafsons when we moved into our new place that had 20 year old heaters. They were so professional and everything was easy to do. They sent updates and reminders regularly and were also very friendly. Will be using their services in the future.

This is the first time using gust of sins they came in, fix my thermostat issues install new ones and were done in around an hour very very pleased, and we plan on using them in the future

We moved to NM from NH and had no experience with swamp coolers, water softeners, radiant heating, and tankless hot water, and the previous owners left us no instructions on maintaining and operating these systems. Mike answered all our questions and helped us get everything working properly. He and his team also made quick work of installing new toilets, and when they encountered problems while installing a new faucet in one of our bathroom sinks, they brainstormed some workarounds and got the job done splendidly. We were absolutely delighted with the quality of the work and the price they charged. We'll definitely use Mike and his team for future plumbing and HVAC work!

We have been using Gustafsons for just a few weeks and Larry has been the BEST service person we’ve ever experienced. He’s honest, hard working and wants to do right by the customer. We previously were using another company but will ONLY use Gustafsons because of Larry and the owner Mike!

Long review- but worth the read:
Called them out to do a swamp cooler to hvac conversion. We were able to set up an appointment quickly. Mike came out and was professional and informative. He was honest in saying that I do not need to replace my heating unit being that it is newer but in assessing the water heater, we came to the conclusion that it was time to replace this as well being that it was at the end of its life. I felt the price was extremely reasonable and don’t believe that they jacked up prices to take advantage of the homeowner. That doesn’t mean that it’s cheap, but it’s fair pricing that makes sense. When looking at home repair, cheap and quality do not mix. But I think with this investment, the overall cost was extremely doable.

The crew was great. Nick and Sam were friendly and very respectful of our home. They were mindful of our tight parking situation (townhome with neighbors) and worked around this. They even made the effort to talk with the neighbors to let them know that they were around and would move if need be. The crew explained what would take place for the next day install and kept us in the loop the entire time. Beyond that, after completion, they cleaned up the space and made sure everything was tidy. The guys worked their butts off in the heat. It does not seem like an easy job at all but they worked well in a small space and made the best of the situation. My previous system did not have the best install and the one they put in looks much better and well connected.

The install itself took a couple of days but it was a large project with the new systems, removing the old, and doing the full conversion.

So far, so good with the unit. We upgraded to the smart Ecobee thermostat which I believe was worth it so that I’m able to set it from my phone and set things on a schedule. It’s made our lives so much more comfortable.

Mike was amazing. I was really impressed that as the owner, he comes out to assess everything, gives the quote, creates a plan with the crew, and checks in on everything after the fact. I feel confident knowing that I can call them if any issues arise or if we need further plumbing/hvac services. If I could give more stars, I would. They were recommended to me by a coworker and I’m so glad I went with them rather than some other companies around town. I got a couple quotes from these guys and the cost plus the unit size they were trying to sell me did not make sense on the size of my home. I feel Mike was honest and addressed the issue at hand without adding this, that, and the other thus making this a big, massive project which not only impacts installation time, but the wallet. Other companies wanted to add on all of this work which cost $10k more, but wasn’t needed. I work in construction so I knew they were just adding things on to make a quick buck. If you’re looking for quality, friendly customer interactions, and a great experience, go with Gustafson’s. You won’t be disappointed! I mean, read these reviews. They are really aiming to take care of the customer and get stuff done.

Mike came out the same day I called! He was friendly, professional, prompt and efficient. He installed a reverse osmosis system and gave me some helpful tips on keeping it clean. I highly recommend Gustafson’s Heating, Cooling and Plumbing!

Excellent service. Larry did a great job resolving some electrical/wiring issues with our swamp cooler. Gave us some good maintenance advice as well. Very fair price for the time and work done. Highly recommended!

I was plagued with an issue between my radiant heat, water heater, and new Nest thermostats. I had other companies come out and troubleshoot, but to no avail. That led me to research great, reputable businesses to assist in this problem that was driving me crazy. I decided to call Gustafson's through that process. The entire customer journey exceeded my expectations, from the prompt answer to my call, troubleshooting patience, and the timeliness of repair. Mike and his team are simply amazing! They converted my swamp cooler to refrigerated air, and while I haven’t yet used it, I couldn’t be happier with the service they provided. Everyone was incredibly polite and professional, and they did a great job of cleaning up after themselves at the end of each day. Mike is a true perfectionist — he went above and beyond to ensure that the equipment and venting system would satisfy building code requirements. They even pointed out and fixed some clearly non-code-compliant issues from a previous hot water heater and furnace installation performed by TLC 6 years ago. Gustafson’s is the only HVAC company I will ever use again!

Gustafson's Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing is a great company owned by honest people. Our air conditioner wasn't working, so we had 3 companies out to give us quotes. Two companies said the unit had to be replaced. But Mike was able to repair it, which of course, saved us a lot of money. We're very grateful!

Amazing service! Mike arranged for a tech (Larry) to install a new blower motor for my AC on Saturday, then when that didn’t solve the problem, came back on Sunday evening himself with a new motor and squirrel cage to complete the repair. Great communication the whole way.

Mike and Aaron did a fantastic job installing a new CONVAIR CTA500 down draft evaporative cool at my home. The quality I appreciate most, is that Mike took the time to explain my options for replacing the outdate unit on my roof. As a team, Mike and Aaron were on-time, friendly and professional. They were very thorough with the installation and clean-up. The unit works as stated, keeping our 2700 square foot home comfortably cool during the summer in New Mexico. We received a prompt reply and appointment to repair our leaky swamp cooler. The service team was professional, and they worked on our roof through a rain storm! No more leaks :) We plan to call Gustafson's the next time we need a plumber.

Mike and the team at Gustafson's are amazing!
Their communication, quality of their work, and honesty is second to none compared to the other "big" companies we've used in Albuquerque. They will give you straight talk about repairs and not just try to sell you an upgrade or replacement like a lot of the other companies do.
When we remodeled our current house 5 years ago we had mini splits put in for both heating and cooling by another vendor, the system struggled from the beginning, and really would not keep up during really cold or really hot weather.
Finally we'd had enough so last year we got Gustafson's to see if they could help figure out what was going on.
Mike found and repaired a leak/low pressure situation that has probably been there since the system was installed, he also cleaned all the units and during the last year or so the system has performed so much better.
Where it used to struggle during extreme outdoor temps it now performs well, heating great even with outdoor lows down to single digits last winter - and I am writing this on June 15, 2025 with our outdoor thermometer showing 102 degrees and it's cooling perfectly - our old house is cool and comfortable and we couldn't be happier!!!
