Universal Heating always does a good job for us. We've had their technician Russ for years. He shows up on time. Never makes a mess and he's courteous. We have no complaints with them.

Universal is local, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a solid team of techs and are very communicative about the work that needs to be done and how much it will cost. The large institutional Rochester HVAC contractors don't care about customers in the city. Universal treats me fairly and in Roc that really stands out.

Dear Universal,
The quality of the furnace and the quality of the workmanship and the professionalism of the 2 HVAC installation techs was outstanding. The new furnace works wonderfully. The air conditioner works great. The custom built air filter, which no one else said they could provide, is top knotch.

I went to the basement to clean up when they were close to getting done and they had already cleaned their work area and the floor to the front door. I told then that I had a steam mop and they didn't need to do it but the HVAC installation techs said they wanted to be fully satisfied with their attention to quality of work and service.

I didn't mind waiting in the least because your companies commitment to service, quality and professionalism was worth waiting until your team was available. I know it can be hard to get good people but everyone you sent to my house was top knotch and I am very greatful that I chose Rheem for the furnace and that I chose your company for the installation.

I will attest to anyone in Rochester that I think Universal Heating and Cooling is among the best of the best in the Rochester area.

Horrible Customer Service! I purchased a furnace in March 2017. I had 3 service calls for this unit in March. November 2017, no heat! I call to schedule a service call, no one answered. I called back an hour later and spoke with Wayne. Rude, disrespectful and condescending was the tone of the call. My furnace is under warranty but a technician can not come out until Monday, today is Thursday! I asked to speak with som else and have been on hold for 37 minutes and counting! Never will I do business with Universal again! I will be requesting a replacement!

This is my second year with Universal Heating! All the Representatives are very friendly and courteous to me. Also, the Accountant took his time and patience with me on a little situation. They really don't know me, but knowing they try to accommodate my needs is important to me.

So easy to get an appointment. The price was great for doing both the furnace and A/C together. I was notified before they were arriving at the house. Very polite and look forward to doing more business with them in the future.

My furnace kept shutting down the day after Christmas. I called them in the evening and left a message. They called me back that evening and since my furnace was working at the time, I made an appointment for the next day. The tech was on time and very accommodating. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I'm very happy with Universal Heating and Cooling.

After being duped by an out-of-area HVAC contractor’s BOGO “tune up and cleaning ad”, I was left with an inoperable system and a $7,200 replacement proposal. Then I called Universal Heating and Cooling, our original HVAC contractor. Chad was extremely generous with his time exploring warranty coverage for my existing equipment as well as proposing suitable new equipment for the repair vs replace analysis. In this vein, Chad arranged for Russ, one of the service technicians to inspect the condition of my heat exchanger as well as determine what other new issues were causing the fuses to blow.
As helpful as Chad was, Russ saved the day (and $7100)! Within minutes, Russ identified and corrected 3 simple, but critical items that caused my system to be inoperable. All I can say is “Thank you, thank you, thank you”.
These people really know their business. Their competence, honesty and reliability are proven. Needless to say, I won’t be calling any other HVAC contractor in this lifetime.

I love Universal Heating! They have done several jobs for me and my family. My tenants furnace, my parents furnace my sisters furnace at the rental property, my father in laws furnace repair, and now my furnace. They have excellent customer service and they do exactly what they say they will do in a timely manner. I will never use anyone else.

Called for a service call, came same day , needed humidifier on furnace serviced. Serviceman gave me advice on where to buy part that failed(saved a little money) so I could repair myself in the future .Universal installed my furnace about 5 years ago and maintains it every year. Gives discounts on yearly cleaning. The people I dealt with were both friendly and knowledgeable.

Russ the service technician is on-time, efficient, professional and explains the maintenance process and patiently answers any questions I have about my furnace, a/c unit or water heater. I have been a customer of Universal Heating for more than 10 years. They have installed both my furnace and air conditioning. The prices are very reasonable and the customer service is outstanding. I highly recommend this company for your heating and A/C needs.

I did not have a good experience with this company at all. The tech did a poor job with diagnostics for a leak with my hot water tank. He suggested full placement but turns out it was only the drain valve that needed repair. Thanks to another experienced tech, the valve was replaced and is working fine. I did not need to replace the tank! When I discussed with manager the problem and requested another visit to reassess, he wasn’t quite receptive. Somewhat rude and arrogant. The guy who answered the phone to set up the appointment was also rude. I don’t recommend this company for hot water tanks.

We’ve used Universal Heating for many many years. They are courteous, professional and timely. They call me every year to schedule a cleaning. Since they have been coming, I haven’t had any problems or better yet, any expenses with my heating system. Thank-you Universal Heating.

After months of trying to get my older propane furnace converted to natural gas, I finally found the people to do it! Chad answered my email within a few hours and had Russ out to fix things within the week! They solved the scheduling issue I was having with RG&E by offering a better furnace part solution and had things ready for a new meter in a day! I would highly recommend them and will be using them again whenever I need service!

We have been using universal heating for the past 12 years to clean and maintain our furnace and air conditioner.when our furnace went a few years ago it was no surprise because we were given a heads up by our cleaner that we may have some issues which gave us enough time to save up for a new furnace. They installed it quick and our heating bill has gone down drastically. We would use them for any kind of service we need relating to air conditioning and furnace in our house.

I have been a customer of Universal since 2006, when the company installed central air for a house I had purchased. I sold that house and purchased another about seven years ago and again Universal installed central AC. They have also cleaned my furnace and AC each year. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and makes it simple to schedule cleanings at a time that's convenient for me. I recommend them highly.

I have been using Universal HVAC for about 20 years. They are always available and pick up the phone ( a real human - Mary - such a sweetheart - not a recording). I have used them for installations, maintenance and repair. I highly recommend them to my Real Estate clients!

I have been a customer of Universal Heating & Cooling since 1999 when they replaced my home HVAC system. I requested quotes from Universal and two other companies when it came time to replace the HVAC system and water heater in 2022. Universal had the best price for the same equipment quoted., beating the other two companies by $1200 and $4000 respectively. I had used Universal for routine maintenance and 1 service call over the last 23 years with complete satisfaction.

As for the new HVAC system, Chadd did a thorough assessment of my needs and made recommendations that were not overselling the products and answered my many questions and concerns. The quote was detailed and complete, not my experience with other companies. The technicians were professional and respectful of our property during the installation. They answered our questions and left the place spotless at the end of each day.

It's great to see a local family owned business focused on customer satisfaction and providing great products and service at a very competitive price.

Universal is a first rate organization. In the last two years I've had both my furnace and air conditioner replaced by them. In both instances the project went smoothly and was a very easy process. From picking out the new units to scheduling and the timeliness of the job as a whole. I've been pleased with both products and continue to have all my regular maintenance done through Universal. You won't go wrong with Universal.

First time dealing with Universal heating. Scheduled a furnace cleaning. They called an hour before appointment to let me know they were going to be late by 15 minutes. It was fine with me and they were only 5 minutes late. Service technician was professional and friendly. Only wish they could pin point appointments better than a 4 hour window. I will call them next year for my service cleaning. Would give 5 stars if they shorten window of appointments to 2 hours at most.
