We use Universal for our yearly furnace cleaning. They are always punctual, professional, and provide excellent service. Recently, we had to call on a Sunday as our furnace wasn’t working on a cold November day. Not only did they accommodate our need in a timely fashion, but also given it was a Sunday, the charge was very reasonable.

Universal knows boilers! We’ve had some bad experiences with other companies that said they knew boilers and clearly they did not. Universal explains what is needed as well as options to consider. Their prices are fair and they work quickly and neatly. I can’t imagine another company doing better. If you need heating or cooling work, Universal is my best recommendation!!!

I got my furnace, water heater, and AC unit all inspected at once, after buying a new house and realizing they hadn't been inspected... ever? It was super smooth! They called before they came, were efficient and professional, and answered all my questions about these units now under my purview.

We used Universal 10 years ago to replace our Furnace and A/C... Lowest price, quick turn around and great customer service. Our only issue is they don't have yearly contracts. So, we Left U and went with Isaac to yearly contract for our furnace. Fast forward to early this month during the heat wave our AC gave out. Isaac came out and for $300 bucks tested only and stated we needed new AC for $4,000 or repair for $1,800+ and it would take 3 or 4 weeks. Left screws all over the area and wiped blood on our siding from a cut finger or something. Called Universal and for $200 bucks they tested and told us the same thing Isaac did... BUT the tech suggested he could put some more Freon in our system and it might last us until we decided what to do etc... We call that FANTASTIC service! Universal gave us prices for repair and new that were 1/3 or Isaac prices and were able to get us scheduled for a new AC in a week's time. The extra Freon kept us going [thank goodness] until then. SO... for well less than $2,000 we got the testing, extra Freon AND a BRAND new Rheem AC unit within a week's time. LOVE Universal and would recommend them to everyone!

My partner and I have hired Universal for regular servicing of furnaces and boilers at our home and rental properties over the last ten years, along with one new installation and a couple major repairs. We have always been pleased with the work and the knowledge and capabilities of their technicians. They have been honest about what is needed and what is not, and their prices are generally lower than the big name HVAC companies in town. We have referred several friends to Universal and they have also been very happy with the work.

We have been customers with Universal for 12yrs. They are professional, courtesy, and easy to contact. At our first house, our old furnace died during a very cold month. We went with Universal for a new furnace. They installed in a timely fashion. We liked there lifetime warranty so long as we scheduled yearly cleanings. Made sense.
We stayed with them when we got next house. This time we had an igniter failure in cold month. They came out on a Sunday to get furnace running again. Excellent quality. Highly recommend.

Very qualified technicians that know what they are doing and take pride in doing a good job. During annual HVAC tune-up, Jason found a problem in my furnace. He called colleague, Russ, for a second opinion. Russ arrived within 15 minutes and confirmed Jason's findings. They proceeded to replace the part, and for a very fair price. I am so glad to have this company for my heating and cooling needs. Now if I could only find a general contractor of their quality and character I'd be all set!!!!!

We just had a new furnace, central air, and water heater installed by these guys, and we seriously couldn’t be happier. We felt so comfortable throughout the entire process. Our quote was incredibly fair and honest, and they were so responsive during the whole process of scheduling the work and securing financing. The technicians were prompt and professional, and I couldn’t get over how clean and tidy they kept everything - you wouldn’t have even known that they were there. They did such a beautiful job on the install and were super attentive to detail and an extremely high quality of work. Everything looks great and functions perfectly! We are so thrilled! HIGHLY recommend.

These guys are great, they gave me an upfront and honest quote with a clear explanation of the equipment and work needed. Chad was very prompt responding to my emails and keeping appointment times. They were able to remove and install my old furnace and AC in just two days and I didn't have to wait weeks for them to schedule my job after we signed our contract. After the installation was complete Chad filled out the majority of the paperwork I needed to send to RG&E to get my efficiency credit. I couldn't have asked for an easier experience at a low price!

We've used Universal years ago to fix our old AC unit and just recently had them come out and install a new furnace and AC. They gave us the lowest price and the installation went great. Any questions I had they answered in terms anyone can understand. They were professional yet friendly. They cleaned up so well you would never know they were here. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for both units or just one. They even called me to see how everything was working just 5 days later and said if I had any questions do not hesitate to call.

My family has been working with Universal for many years. They have always been extremely professional, explained exactly what was wrong with my furnaces and AC, and have always charged fair prices for the work that they do. Just this past week, we had them install a furnace and AC unit in my brother's home (I handle the maintenance of his home). Their work was very well done, clean, professional and quick. Universal installed both a new furnace and air conditioner for me. It was a pleasure to work with Chad. He explained all the possibilites and options. The selection was easy and the price was good. Since installation I have contacted Universal for routine maintenance and some issues I had with older gas lines. The company has been very responsive to my concerns and service was scheduled in a very timely manner. It has been a pleasure to work with Universal.

As an older woman I need to have service people I can rely on and who are reasonably priced with good and honest servicing. Universal is all of that and more. They are personable, never arm twisting, but consistent with reminding me when it's time to check my furnace and cooling systems.

I used Universal Heating 12/09, to install a furnace in a commercial building. It was hastily installed without a vent to place a furnace filter. Took them to court and won. I tried them again 2017 to install a furnace in my home. I had to call them back as they did not wrap vents connected to the furnace. 2021, the circuit board had to be replaced. I get calls 10 times a year, from Mary, to clean my furnace. November 2025, turning on my furnace, 1st time since April 2025, there was a leak from "pvc" connected to furnace just over the electrical compartment. Russia came out a week later, said he would order new pipe to put in and also extension for the condensation tube, as it is cut too short, having to be stretched across the basement and anchored in the floor drained using bricks. It is not run properly along or around the wall, but rather, through a vent hole in the upper wall resulting in water pouring on the floor. November 17, 2025, I was informed Russ would be out to make those repairs Thursday, November 20, cause he was off Friday, November 21. Today, Thursday, November 20, Russia called saying he could not come due to too many heat outages needing service, but, he could come the NEXT DAY, the day he was supposedly unavailable AND there would be a SERVICE CHARGE to extend the drainage tube THEY CUT TOO SHORT and ran through a wall, which I mentioned in passing. I was trying to "deal with the mess-up!". As well, a charge for repairing the pipe dripping on the furnace. Russia hung up in my face when I asked why is poor installation issues attributed to me? I called back and spoke with Chad who was abrasive, saying Service Charges were not discussed until Russ spoke with him, cause someone may have bumped the pipe! I responded, I guess"someone" bumped the unwrapped vents 2017, the circuit board 2021, the improperly installed drainage tubing, at which point, Chad said, " We're not coming out. You are a problem customer and you call too much!". Now mind you, Mary calls me every year, as much as 4 times a month, to drum up furnace cleaning business! I suspect Universal is installing refurbished furnaces and poorly installing them. Chris initially installed both furnaces 2009 and 2017. I've tried to work with these people as recent as 2023, when the circuit board also went on the 1st furnace installed without a filter slot, forcing the furnace to work harder. I had to get Bethlam Heating to do a diagnostic. Universal is rude, unprofessional, not about customer satisfaction and quality service.

Very impressed with this company. Our furnace stopped working and I called them in the morning. They had someone out a few hours later. The furnace was over 20 years old and they said they could replace the circuit board. They didn’t try to push me to buy a whole new furnace but quoted me on the price of a new one and it was much cheaper than I assumed it would be, so we went with a brand new unit. They came back out the next day and installed it. The installers were nice guys and courteous. All in all I would highly recommend them.

Ryan is awesome, polite, and he listened to what I wanted for the furnace condensate pump.

Tim is best in the business. Very professional. Price is always fair. I have been using 5 star for several years and never had a bad experience.
I own a barbershlp and when the hot water tank stopped working he was there within the hour.
I just had a new furnace installed by Tim and he did a beautiful job, he worked efficiently, cleaned up and reasonably priced.

UPDATE
The Barbershop was cold this morning so the guys immediately called FIVE STAR.
Tim was there within 20 minutes. The furnace was working when he arrived.
We were lowering the thermostat too much at night and because of the extreme cold the furnace took longer to heat everything.
He cleaned the furnace and made sure everything was running like a charm when he left.
The price was unbelievably reasonable.

Tim and his family were wonderful! They were able to get me quoted and booked for a new furnace just in time for our family to move into our new house! He was respectful, clean, and took the time to explain to my husband and I how to take care of our furnace along with some other things he noticed in our home! I will forever recommend him based on his excellent pricing, amazing quality, and superior customer service!

I heard about Five Star from a neighbor.... last night our furnace stopped working, I called them at 7:30am this morning (never working with them before). Tim was here within 10 minutes to take a look and by 2pm this afternoon our furnace was back up and running. Tim was a joy to work with and is even handling our warranty for the part with a company he doesn't typically work with. He has gained a loyal customer today. Highly recommend this business to anyone in need of assistance!
