Update (Sept 2025): The “owner” of Turnbull has now edited his reply to my review to claim Turnbull did not install my unit. The facts:
The furnace was installed in 2021 by Winters Heating & Cooling. The installer was Brendan (listed on my install paperwork).
Winters merged with Turnbull in August 2023. Despite this, Jake (Turnbull’s owner) now claims that merger didn’t happen.
In January 2025, when my 4-year-old unit failed during single-digit temps, the technician who came out—and charged me $400+—was the same Brendan who originally installed the system at Winters, now working under Turnbull. His name appears on my installation record and the subsequent Turnbull service invoice. (See photos)
So the truth is evident: rather than stand behind workmanship and take care of customers, Turnbull’s leadership at the highest level, would rather deflect blame by saying “we didn’t install it,” while relying on the same personnel and servicing the same system post-merger.
This is a continuation of everything I’ve reported: repeated failures (including wiring short-circuits that led to fires), leaks, and charges for “diagnostics” and labor without lasting fixes—followed by public promises to “make it right” that go nowhere.
I have invoices, photos, and service records to support all of the above. Avoid Turnbull Heating & Cooling.

Update: In addition to the fire hazards and repeated failures, the unit has also developed a persistent leak. Despite claiming in his responses here that he would make things right, Jake is no longer willing or able to contact me directly to resolve the situation. Instead, I’m left dealing with yet another round of service fees for problems that were never properly fixed in the first place.

The leaking part in question can be purchased online for $60–$100, yet Turnbull wants to charge me $169 just to come out and tell me what I already know—that the same issue is recurring because nothing substantive was ever done to repair it. Now that the unit is “out of warranty,” I fully expect they will find more problems and hand me another list of expensive repairs.

Turnbull’s refusal to stand behind their work, their avoidance of accountability, and their unwillingness to escalate customer concerns to management make it clear: this company puts customers last. Avoid Turnbull Heating and Cooling at all costs.

Original Review - I am beyond disappointed with Turnbull Heating and Cooling and strongly advise against using their services unless you enjoy paying for poor-quality workmanship and constant repairs.

I had my furnace installed by Turnbull in 2021, and it has been nothing but a headache ever since. I’ve had multiple service calls due to the unit not working, including two terrifying instances in less than a month when the wiring short-circuited and literally caught fire both times (photo attached). Now, in the middle of winter, I’m dealing with yet another issue—this time, the heat strip needed replacement.

I decided to call Turnbull because they installed the unit and I assumed they would take care of yet again another issue. While the part was covered under warranty, Turnbull refuses to cover the cost of labor, leaving me with a $419 bill ($169 for diagnostics and $250 for labor). I’ve never heard of a warranty that only covers parts, forcing customers to pay out of pocket for issues caused by poor workmanship.

When I reached out to Amana, the furnace manufacturer, they explained that their warranty doesn’t cover labor because they can’t verify if the unit was installed properly to begin with. This points directly to Turnbull’s shoddy installation and lack of accountability.

Save yourself the stress, unsafe equipment, and constant expenses. Avoid Turnbull Heating and Cooling at all costs. Their poor-quality work and refusal to stand by their installations are unacceptable.

UPDATE ADDED: My son had a furnace installed by them in 2021 and it has been nothing but problems ever since. The system has broken down multiple times, leaked, and—most alarming—had wiring that short-circuited and CAUGHT FIRE TWICE!
When service was requested, Turnbull refused to take real responsibility. Parts might be covered under warranty, but customers are still left paying hundreds in labor fees for issues that were clearly tied to poor installation. Even when management promised in public responses that they would “make things right,” they have not followed through.
The pattern here is simple: bad installation, constant repairs, and no accountability. Save yourself the stress, safety risk, and unnecessary costs—I would not trust Turnbull Heating and Cooling with something as important as heating your home.

While the original install was not by Turnbull, the company that did install it merged with Turnbull and the same installer is currently employed by Turnbull. My son was promised better treatment than this. See info received about merger and judge for yourself.

After postponing our routine furnace maintenance twice, putting us into January- 2 days prior to a major winter storm, we went from a working furnace to a non-working furnace in an hour's time. A replacement part was going to cost $763 and needed to be ordered. The installation of the part would be determined after it was acquired. estimated time frame 2 or 3 days. Oh by the way, our warranty ran out in June. We purchase both our furnace and air conditioner from Turnbull and have faithfully scheduled routine maintenance every year. We were told our choices were to replace the part or get a new furnace. We were charged $160 for the service fee and we paid it. For fear of pipes freezing in sub zero temperatures, I was able to find a local repairman who had our furnace back in working order with the replacement part within 2 hours from the time the Turnbull technician left. It was almost $200 cheaper. This feels very much like we were scammed.

Today Jeff John and Skylar came to my house to install my new boiler. They were here on time they are very friendly and knowledgeable. They did a great job with the installation. They were very thorough in explaining how the new system works. Awesome experience.

Zana was WONDERFUL! Extremely knowledgeable and reall was so nice! Will definitely ask for him personally next time I call! For real, I hope you’re paying him what he’s worth-good employees are hard to find!

Darrell was great! Friendly and worked fast. We needed a couple emergency plumbing repairs and he took care of everything for a fair price. Thank you!

Joe was very professional. I’m giving 3 stars because he was too quick to determine the furnace was not fixable and to try to sell me a new one at a significant markup to what other estimates have been. Another professional came and replaced a gas valve and got us up and going. We will still need to replace in the next year, but now we have the chance to shop in a warm house.

All of that said. Joe did a great job explaining the options and it seems like the maintenance plans they offer are a good deal.

I was in desperate need of either a furnace repair or a new furnace installation, I didn’t know which. James Jenks, the first technician came out almost immediately after my first phone call to the company, assessed the problem, explained in detail with pictures what needed to be done and got me setup for a new furnace installation the very next day. Eric Camacho and Aaron Nicholson arrived early the next day promptly and ready to do the install. They worked continuously until the job was finished, making sure to answer any questions I might have had. I was very happy with their completed work. I received top notch service from the company from start to finish. This company is very well run with an amazing team paying close attention to details and time commitments with an aim to please the customer. Everyone was so friendly and pleasant to talk with and I am so glad I chose them to handle my needs.

Milan K was awesome! Very thorough, kind and clean. He explained what was wrong and made sure to show me that the problem was fixed. Definitely would recommend him to anyone!

Nick Krochmalechwas the tech that came to my home today. Nick came to hook the Hot Shot machine to clear an ice blockage in the line. He was prompt, polite and very knowledgable. He explained everything to me and listened to my concerns. I ok'd the price and he went right to work. Within 15 to 20 he had melted the ice blockage.
Nick was very personable and did a great job.
Reimer should be proud of this young man
He is an asset to the company.
I have had 2 Reimer techs working to solve this problem and was amazed how knowledgable and hard working.
    Great Job Nick!!

I called Reimer to cable the sewer line of my rental property in Rochester, NY. Plumber Joe Tumminelli showed up on time an provided me with a fair estimate. It was not the most affordable but he seemed very professional and offered me a free camera inspection with it so I approved it. He performed the job diligently to open the line and provided me video of a blockage on the city side of the sewer line so I could request further service from them at no cost to guarantee the sewer will work as it should. I was impressed with his plumbing knowledge, honesty, attention to detail and great communication. I highly recommend their services if your focus is on quality work.

Reimer was out to my home within 2 hours for an emergency call. I called around to a few different companies in the area, and Reimer was the fastest by at least 2 hours. Very happy with the response time while having no heat.

The tech, Ryan Grandy, was extremely gracious, knowledgeable, efficient, and honest. I really appreciated the time he took to explain everything. I could tell he takes a lot of pride in his work, the company, and taking care of their customers. I felt comfortable and very happy with the service I received.
Reimer is a genuine, honest company.
    5/5 stars!

The technician Zana, who came to service the air conditioning system at our home was exceptionally courteous, very professional, and did a fantastic job, taking care of the problems with the air conditioner. He also explained in great detail all of the things that were contributing to our problem and then made sure that he addressed each one in order to make sure that the system would operate optimally in the future.

Zana was very courteous and did a thorough job making sure that I understood everything that he was doing. I felt like he was someone that I could trust.

Zana is an absolute lifesaver! On the coldest day of the year (−3°F), when my furnace decided to quit, he showed up quickly, diagnosed the issue as a failed pressure switch, and handled everything with outstanding professionalism.
The replacement pressure switch had to be ordered, but he refused to leave my family without heat. Instead, he engineered a clever, safe temporary fix that kept the furnace running reliably and our home warm throughout the entire blistering cold spell. That ingenuity and dedication made all the difference.
He was incredibly thorough: explained everything clearly, patiently answered every single one of my (many) questions, worked efficiently, and even set up the furnace so it would transition seamlessly once the replacement part arrived. No shortcuts, no upselling—just honest, skilled work.
If you want someone who truly goes above and beyond, especially when it matters most, Zana is the technician to call. I can’t recommend him highly enough!
Thank you, Zana—you kept my family warm when it counted.

We knew we had problems with our furnace when we called Excellent Air, who had installed the HVAC system 20 years ago for the former homeowners. We didn’t have a maintenance contract, and we hoped we could squeeze a little more life out of the system. Unfortunately, Joe discovered holes in parts of our heating system that required a new furnace.

From the diagnosis to the installation of the new furnace and humidifier took the rest of the day. We considered ourselves lucky to have a new system by dinner time.

Kudos to Joe, Dan and Shamus for making the swap-out a pleasant and educational experience. Good, competent people, respectful, but also easy going and comfortable to have coming in and out of the house. My husband and I worked on our stuff while they worked efficiently and quietly.

I assume we won’t see them till next year’s maintenance checkup.

Amazing service. Technicians were very knowledgeable and professional. They answered all my questions about the installation of my new combo boiler and provided information on the functions and maintenance of the boiler. Five stars.

We had our water heater serviced by Emanuel and it was one of the best experiences we’ve had!

He was very professional, courteous, thoroughly explained the steps before starting and throughout so we were always kept in the loop.

He also provided great advice so as a customer I am kept well informed and can better predict signs of trouble before they get worse which helps keep my cost down, call it “preventative maintenance”!

I will definitely return and appreciate the great experience!

    Highly highly recommend!!!

Jesus (the installer) gets 5 stars. Riemer Plumbing gets 1 star. We called on Monday morning for a water heater replacement. We were quoted $2,886 for a basic water heater. We put $50 down, and the tech said we would be on the schedule for Tuesday or Wednesday and would call an hour beforehand. OK, fine. Nothing Tuesday. Nothing Wednesday. Nothing Thursday. Called on Friday morning and found that no one had put us on any schedule. I was also forced to give my debit card info, including the CCV, over the phone, since "They can't take payment over the weekend." Found out that was BS. All I really wanted from those in charge was an apology, but they couldn't seem to muster even that, as though they would be admitting guilt in a court hearing or something. Jesus apologized as soon as he found out our situation. Jesus was great; he did everything he thought he was supposed to.

If we say the water heater costs $1,200 (nearly double that of buying one from Home Depot.) that means they charge $843/hr for labor. Forget being a doctor... Be a plumber.

I thank Reimer for their service over the past few weeks and would especially like to personally recognize the following:

Ryan, who was here on an emergency call to repair my furnace which had quit during a terrible cold spell in January. The furnace was fixed that day. He also suggested your yearly maintenance program, of which I am now a member.
Joe, who was here to totally clean and examine the furnace. He installed a new UV air system and instructed me on what I need to do on a yearly basis for my April Air system. Look
Devin, who was here to descale and examine my tankless water heater. He actually inspected my entire water system and made some excellent suggestions.
All three gentlemen were on time, friendly, and made sure I understood what they were doing and why. I will be recommending Reimer to all my friends and neighbors. Thank you

My furnace died 3Jan26 and I called around and no one was available. I reached to Reimer and the first thing I heard was an absolutely lovely lady who asked “How may I make you smile?” I immediately told her my concerns as it was 3 in the afternoon, and she immediately put me on the schedule to come out that day. Within 3 hours a nice gentleman name Keith Rodak came out and took a look at my furnace. Unfortunately the part that was needed (inducer motor) was not available at the time frame, or something he carries. He called his boss Mike, and Mike bent over backwards looking for the part, and trying to find a distributor to open up on the weekend. Keith came out today 5Jan26 and pit it in. Did an excellent job and found other issues that he took care of to make sure my furnace was operating proper and safley. This was all done professionally and with a smile. The politness of this company was amazing and the concern and the care felt so good. Would trust them again and again as they did a fantastic job. 👍 Keith was such a polite, decent person. I will always ask for him. His concern and ability stood out above everything. I really like this company and will always ask for Keith. Also thanks again to Mike for all your hard efforts in locating the part.

Nate did a fantastic job!! Our humidor was not working because it was not connected. Other HVAC companies wanted to replace the humidifier. Nate connected the humidifier, got it working, vacuumed it and replaced the filter. I’d give Nate and my experience interacting with Nate. 10 out of 10. Thank you!!
