So my( new)heat pump has been out since 2/25/26. I submitted a warranty request about 2/27/26. Tech came by on 3/3/26. Caryly requires a four hour window for appointments which means you have to take off from work or make arrangements to be home. Scheduled appointments are at their convenience. The tech discovered a faulty sensor on 3/3. Said Caryly ordered one from Knoxville Carrier distributor. I discovered the order for part was dated 3/5/25 and that order was pending. Pending and Carly implied part was being shipped to Knoxville. On 3/5/25 I spoke with Micheal at Carrier in Knoxville, he assured me the part has been in stock and ready for pick up anytime. Finally got an appointment fix my AC on 3/10/26. Again a four hour window and at their convenience. Caryly Mechanical does a very poor job of responding to warranty request. It's obvious to me that they have the tech in this area spread too thin. They need to hire more techs to keep up with their warranty/service calls. And seems ridiculous to be overwhelmed with service calls on brand new heat pumps/air handlers. Perhaps it would be more cost effective to replace these base units they sold to Horton with more reliable units. Finally, and I have lots more to complain about, this service failure is totally Caryls fault. The tech is not at fault in any way. Very disappointed with Carly Mechanical and Horyon should probably contract with local HVAC companies in the future. Today 3/7/26, waiting on repairs. Doug

Travis was amazing! He came out to install and set up my ecobee thermostat and sensors, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. He was extremely friendly, and personable.

He clearly knew the ins and outs of the ecobee system and made sure everything was installed properly, calibrated correctly, and fully connected before he left. What really stood out was how he took the time to explain how the sensors work, how to optimize the settings, and even gave me helpful advice for getting the most efficiency out of the system.

It’s rare to find someone who combines technical expertise with genuine customer care the way Travis does. 10/10 recommend

Jacob was the technician that came and took care of our system. He was able to fix the electrical connections that were not connected when the system was installed and he cleaned the condenser unit that was very dirty. He was very thorough and did a great job.

I highly recommend Penguin Heating and Cooling. I received a very reasonable estimate from Eric in minutes, I then agreed to the service and the system was installed 2 days later. I will spread the word to anyone who is in need of service or a new system. You will not be dissatisfied with Penguin!

Matt was very punctual. He came out to my house at the given time and did a completely thorough job doing diagnostics of my A/C Systems. I would recommend Matt from Penguin Air to anyone having A/C issues.

100% recommend this company for heating and cooling needs. We have had to call them for both, and both times they came out the SAME day and made sure we were set. The first time was with blistering hot weather over the summer and they helped us out. This time we had a warranty on our home and used the company sent by the warranty, only to have Penguin come out and fix the other company's mess up and had left us with no heat. We called Penguin again knowing that we are expecting significantly cold weather and snow. Penguin came out the same day again and made sure everything was in proper working order. Christian was our technician and he was literally the nicest, most professional worker. Thank you Penguin Air!!!!

We've used Penguin a few times over r course of our ten years here and they are always amazing. Today was a busy day for them as it was the first time a lot of us turned on our heat and they still got a repairman out to me within 2 hours of calling them. I never feel overcharged or taken advantage of. The techs are professional and polite.

Randy and his crew did a fabulous job. They were prompt, neat and tidy. They installed a complete heating and cooling system for a very reasonable price. They were highly recommended to me and they did not disappoint.

Penguin Heating and Air is a locally owned company that is fair. I place them far above the “Big Box” companies that are out there. Penguin values their customers and employees. Jacob has always been a superior technician.

Great first experience with Penguin Air. My tech, Jake, was courteous, on time, and professional. He even tolerated our dog asking for belly rubs. We did a HVAC maintenance plan so he checked and cleaned AC unit inside and outside and offered recommendations but wasn't pushy trying to upsell. Would highly recommend.

I had a great experience with Penguin. My initial call was a very friendly exchange and they got a technician scheduled to come out right way. That's invaluable when your house is 90 degrees. I really trusted Mike to get the job done and not try to sell me any unnecessary services. I like that I was sent a picture of the technician before he arrived so I wasn't just inviting anyone into my house (thanks, true crime podcasts, for making me so skittish about people coming into my home). My only confusion is that I was charged a diagnostic fee even though I had a repair over $200, which I thought the website said would be waived. That promotion may have started after I had my service though. I just noticed it. Anyway, I will definitely use them again when the need arises! I'm very happy with my experience...and my much cooler house!

We enjoy our new system as it is a huge upgrade from the one we had however I would have rated more stars if the teams overall communication was better. My husband and I were each told different things when it came to install time, scheduling inspections, etc. I can’t say whether or not we would recommend this company to our friends and family at this time as we are still waiting for a final (unexpected) inspection.

I was pleased to have penguin come over and the technician Matt to my home to do a second opinion on a repair being quoted by another company. Matt did a very thorough job examining my system and determined that the repair quoted was not necessary and that only a wire brush cleaning of the flame sensor was needed. I will definitely call on penguin again for my hvac needs.

They installed and AC unit a couple of years ago and did a great job! Had problems with my furnace. Jacob tried many options before replacing the motor. Very patient and did a great job! Will be calling on them in the future!

Matthew Ross at Penguin Heating and Air just serviced my HVAC . Everything about the appointment was perfect. Matthew was on time, extremely personable and courteous. I tend to ask a lot of questions, and he was able to explain what he was doing in a way I could understand it.
