I have had the displeasure of dealing with this company for the past year, due to a poorly designed dishwasher I purchased.
They never come out when they say they will - I have waited over a week for them to finally squeeze us onto their schedule. When they do come out they always say they'll get it fixed ASAP.. except no parts are ever actually "overnighted" like they say they'll be - sometimes it takes a week or more after the initial visit just to get them back out to fix the problem.. which means I'm down an essential piece of equipment for days/weeks at a time. Have you ever heard of a restaurant being down a dishwashing machine for a week+? It's a horrible thing to deal with.
Anyway.. I have delt with a lot of service people in my professional life, and these guys are just the worst. -
Worst experience ever!! We were charged a ridiculous amount of money to have them not even be able to fix my ice machine. I'm so angry!! How can you charge a huge price and not even be able to successfully fix something?? Obviously they need to hire people that actually know what they are doing. Now I have to figure out how to pay for a new ice machine on top of the price I paid to not have my ice machine repaired. Do not use them!!

I had an old meat slicer that broke down, so I asked them to fix it.
They were very friendly and did exactly what I wanted.
The price was very reasonable and they gave me the information I asked for.
Thank you guys so much. -
The most unresponsive "service" company I am forced to deal with because they are the only authorized repair company for some commercial equipment. Two requests that they bring something with them when they came to repair something, and still, they didn't bring it. They have no sense of urgency and can't be bothered to give service. For example, wanted to bring something in for repair on a Friday afternoon. Their hours say open until 5:00, but something told me to double check to make sure they'd still be there. The response? Oh, we probably won't be...we leave earlier on Fridays. Then why don't they change their posted hours????

A pleasant experience from the initial phone call to shaking hands with Ric the repair guy. I really don't get the critical reviews. They were very friendly and helpful. Ric did the work and he did it well, he was knowledgeable and friendly.

This company charges your card without notifying you of the charges. Beware you might be charged over $900 despite clarifying time and time again what the bill was. Then when you call back they say “oh yeah. You also have this invoice that we also charged you for.”
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD AND VERIFY ALL BILLS BEFORE PAYING ANYTHING. -
Poor communication, waited a week for them to come down 40min. away so they could lump me in with other jobs in my city. Still got charged the full $78 travel charge plus $55 service call plus $108 per hour which includes travel time... $349 for an estimate to repair my oven which the problem was not specifically identified, said they would "start by replacing..."
Was 2 days after technician stopped by before I heard anything about what might be wrong only after I called them to find out why I hadn't heard anything.
Very disappointing. Will not ever use for service again... -
Terrible company that steals your money. We are about 50 minutes away from them... and they charged me almost $250 just in travel charges ... they said they charge for travel time, gas, and insurance for the service truck. OUTRAGEOUS!! And never mentioned that until the charges got billed to my account.
They took over $200 for a service tech that wasn’t knowledgeable about a hotcase warmer, simple wires... I easily could have done it myself, took him 3 hours to replace one wire!
They took around $450 to do a temporary job that didn’t fix the issue! STAY AWAY FROM THEM! -
Terrible experience! If you have any other option for service, I advise you to take it. We delivered an item for a simple light socket repair service at their shop a month ago and still haven't gotten it back. We have called approx. 5-6 times over the month to check on the status and have been lied to multiple times. (Example: Two weeks ago we were told by a shop tech. that we could pick up the item in a few days.) We waited about a week and hadn't heard anything so called and left a voicemail that was ignored. We called back Friday and spoke to someone who took our name and phone number, promising a call back after doing some "research". Again, no call back. Another call was placed today and I was advised that the parts were just ordered this morning via ground. Basically, they have been sitting on this item for a month with no progress. Our business is losing profit and will continue to until they complete the simple service, as promised weeks ago.
Save yourself the headache. This business is unprofessional. -
Update: Tech arrived on Monday (4 days sooner than quoted). He stayed until the faulty part was replaced and called back a few times over the next five days to make sure it was still working ok. I was more or less forced to give my credit card info for a warranty repair, but they didn't charge me anything.
Go anywhere else if you can. Had a refrigerator repaired under warranty. Took three trips to fix it...kinda. Worked for five days before it went down again with the exact same problem it had before. I called them this morning to have them "fix" it again, and was told it would be a four day wait to have someone come out to look at it. My business is less than 10 miles from their shop. In addition, I was required to give them my credit card number for a repair that should be no charge to me...if they're even capable of fixing it. I'm going to contact the manufacturer of the unit tomorrow and see if there is any other repair company we can use for this repair. I'll definately let them know how horrible this provider has been and encourage them to find another company for their warranty repairs in this area.
If it's your money, I highly suggest you spend it elsewhere. -
I own restaurants and a large commissary kitchen in Portland. I called General Parts a few times in the past three or four years requesting their food equipemnt repair services. Every time I called, I always got the same response: WE ARE NOT TAKING ON NEW CLIENTS. I understand they are perhaps very busy. Howeveve, I'd like to point out that whenever they turned me down with the same response (we are not taking new clients), I went to their website looking for any statement or indications that they were not taking new clients, I found none. I did the same thing last week, and there is still nothing on their website indicating they don't take new clients. How could a company stay in business without taking new clients for a few years? I think they are taking new clients but the issue with me is my foreign accent.

I regret not reading other reviews first. The office person at General Parts is very nice and professional. Unfortunately, that's where the praise stops.
I took a commercial slicer to be repaired at General Parts, 3 weeks later, I receive an estimate for repair $987 with no ETA for parts. After $152 charge for the estimate, I called McGraw Marketing to ask if it was even worth fixing. They asked me to bring it in, "no charge to look at it". I was informed it was worth fixing, gave them the go ahead and the very next day it was fixed for $322. McGraw will get my business going forward. -
Drew Erie came to my home to give me an estimate on a new furnace and air conditioner. He was professional and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions, and I ultimately selected McAfee for this project.

Possibly the most worst repair company I’ve ever dealt with! Very frustrating, without resolve of a warranty repair, lack of communication. This company is not worth it!
-
Technicians know what they're doing. Service can be pricey, but I don't know how it compares to other service providers.
-
Really good customer service always gets me the parts I need
-
I have used this company for many years. They have always had an excellent level of service, great response times, many same day, and I appreciate their repairmen for communicating the cause for repair.
-
Could they get any greedier? The $300 deposit has no relationship to the charge, this is just to get your credit card number so they can gouge you. They charge for the time on th job, couple hundred dollars for travel, a couple hundred more for the 'service call' (in addition to the time charge) and then a couple hundred dollars for coming back. So the cost to diagnose and install a $200 part was over $900. I recommend you find another vendor.
-
Straight up fraudulent, I have all the receipts, screenshots, emails, and outside diagnosis and verification that these guys are trying to strongarm companies in Oregon into paying for fake diagnostics and ordering thousands of dollars of unnecessary parts. Nobody wants to make waves but I say let’s go to court. We’re talking over $20k of attempted billing for something that was not even broken to begin with.

Not satisfied at all. We got a quote a few months ago to fix some items in our kitchen at a memory care community. They kept charging our credit card without notifying us or giving us an updated invoice. We are not able to figure out what we have paid for so far because we keep getting new invoices showing that we paid several deposits and wanting even more money and the items that need fixed still are not fixed and we have paid thousands already.
