Appliance Repair reviews in Portland, Oregon

Prompt, courteous, thorough. My fridge was thoroughly checked, and my concerns found not warranted. The 2 technicians offered a backup plan and prepared a Part Order should the noise I was hearing begin again. Very fair pricing and convenient and helpful phone contact.

We had nothing but a great experience with Oregon Appliance Repair. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. He had the part we needed and was able to fix our refrigerator on the spot. We highly recommend this company.

I had a very challenging Samsung dryer problem. While ultimately we were not able to find the problem, the technician was very easy to work with and provided utube style instructions on how to disassemble and test the components, texted with me and even spoke with me on the phone. I was really appreciative of the virtual process!

Do not use this company for appliance repair. They were relatively quick to schedule an estimate, which cost $150, but they have not returned any of my calls to actually schedule the service. We have to go to another company now so it literally feels like theft of $150 with no intention of providing the service. Absolutely terrible experience

This is NOT a legitimate business. It is a SCAM. We lost $95 and they never repaired our Whirlpool refrigerator water dispenser. When I did drove by their location, I discovered it was a PO Box...and their Bend location is a house. Not a business like their "website" claims. Also, they copy/paste reviews from other appliance businesses. Their "repairman" came to our home twice and could not fix the problem. Why? Because it is a SCAM and not a real business. I have contacted BBC, FTC and neighborhood associations to alert them.

Their service technician missed the initial appointment. When I called the next day to reschedule, their service rep claimed they had called me to reschedule (they didn't) and then they accidentally connected my call to another repair company (Appliance Guys). The Appliance Guys service rep was very friendly and helpful.

Worst repair company to work with so far. They do not keep the time they give you, do not call half an hour before they arrive as they they say they would, they don't even know where the technician is Lewis was very unprofessional. He left the freezer section and parts out on my floor after telling me he would come the next day to fix it. He did not come the next day as he told me and his company didn't even call me for rescheduling. On his third call, he made a mess on my floor after completing, did not put all the screws in the panel after he changed the thermostat. I am so frustrated with this company and American Home Shield who has recruited this company to work on the appliance repairs. Some problems can happen and I understand that, but each time... Extremely frustrated. I am never going to work with them again.

Update: You can tell how terrible of a business they are by their defensive reply to honest reviews and not admitting any faults. Seriously…. RUN to any other other vendors. These people are swindles and cheats.
I usually don't leave reviews, but this company has completely given me the run around and I feel swindled. After $600+ in parts we were left with the technician shrugging his shoulders and telling me that he replaced the 2 parts he knows to replace. If that doesn't work he doesn't know what to do. Yep... he actually admitted that he did no real diagnostic work and just orders the "parts that he knows". Now I'm left with 2 brand new parts that "maybe needed to be replaced" and an over that STILL doesn't work. -
I had them come out and repair both a washing machine and a refrigerator. I wish I would have had them do an estimate beforehand because it was outrageously expensive. The washing machine got fixed but the refrigerator they had to come out multiple times and it was out for almost a month. Now even at the lowest setting freezes things solid in the refrigerator and I can't get through to their number anymore. You'd be better off buying a used appliance for the same price than what they charge. Not to mention it took several attempts to fix the fridge and it still isn't working properly and I can't reach them anymore.
Editing to say although owner offered to refund the unnecessary labor and mistakes in a reply; they never followed through. So I stand by my one star review -
Oregon Appliance Repair has been helping me track down the right parts to my Bertazzoni dishwasher. We were able to find the latch and get it installed, at no charge! Dishwasher is working now! Still waiting on the display because of delays with the manufacturer, but Oregon Appliance Repair has been great keeping me updated on the part and final repair.

Nov 12, 2022 Our LG refrigerator/freezer side-by-side stopped cooling and warmed to 60 degrees over 3 days. After calling 1/2 dozen repair shops who wouldn't work on LG or would see us in a month, we called Oregon Appliance Repair on Sat. Abdul came in 3 days and determined our compressor was bad. He advised us that LG warrantied their compressors for 10 years. We will be getting a new compressor for free. Abdul was prompt, even vacuumed the coils and was very professional. He is a valuable employee for Oregon Appliance Repair.

$150 consultation fee to turn on the dishwasher, read the error code, then tell me what I already knew from googling the code. Forced me to find model number then quoted me $600 for a $30 part replacement. Drain pump took me an amazon 2 day delivery and 20 minutes with youtube to fix myself. Many bosch dishwashers cost $600 to purchase outright. Predatory practices and price gouging should turn you away from Oregon Appliance Repair.

I called this company because I thought they were nearby based on google maps. However, the repair person came from Vancouver, and now I have learned from the other reviews that they are not located in Portland. The repair person did not come on the day scheduled but late in the afternoon the day before so I was not there to talk to him. After his visit, the unit was more broken than it was before his visit. It appeared to have been further damaged by the repair person. I did not hear back the next day so I had to call and ask questions. After 4 phone calls, 8 minutes of hold time and 7 days later, I was told they cannot repair my dishwasher because a model number could not be found. They did, however, offer to waive the $95 fee for the initial visit, which made sense because the only result from the visit was additional damage. I will now be buying a new dishwasher instead.

I called this company for a fridge/freezer repair but they failed to let me know that they had NO technicians licensed to do such repairs. The technician came and spent 30 seconds looking at the fridge and telling me the compressor was bad, but that they couldn't replace compressors since he was the only technician and he wasn't licensed to do so. They then charged me $150 for this visit, which I intend to dispute since they shouldn't even have come out when they had no refrigerator repair technicians at all. I then had to find a different company and am still waiting to get my fridge repaired almost 2 weeks after it broke down. Apparently there are almost no companies in the Portland area who are able to do LG warranty repair work. The company LG told me to call isn't even in business.
I saw your response - your response is absolutely false. The technician (Abdul) and the person who answers the phone told me that you have NO technicians in the area who are licensed for warranty work on LG. You told me POINT BLANK that you could NOT do the repair. What you say in your reply is absolutely untrue. Why would I have to go elsewhere when your company told me they could NOT repair my fridge? The fact that you are lying about what your own staff actually told me is even more disturbing than the fact that you couldn't do the repair. -
The ppliance tech was a nice man and was able to show me where the leak from my dishwasher was coming from, however the part he said needed to be replaced didn't make sense because after looking it up, that part looked nothing like where the leak was coming from. Furthermore, he said it would be $480 to replace and wanted me to leave a $240 deposit right then.
Fortunately I did not do that because I was later able to remove that part myself and see that the rubber gasket inside it was bent when it was installed. I replaced it for $8 and the leak was fixed.
Either this company is completely incompetent or they are dishonest. Or both. I'm not sure which is worse, because at least if they were just dishonest they'd still theoretically be able to fix my dishwasher, which I'm not sure would have happened in this case. -
This company was dishonest in saying they are a service provider when I called and specifically asked about warranty service for Wolf appliances! They said they work with Wolf and could submit for warranty and charged $150 to come out and take 5 seconds to tell me my microwave was not working, but did not follow up with the warranty with Wolf and have ignored my calls. Contacted Wolf and this company IS NOT an authorized service provider!!!!!! Of course there has been no response in being credited my $150. Dishonest. I have called numerous times a day with absolutely no call back. I have left messages and emails for a refund of the money since they misrepresented themselves from my initial call. Two months and no resolution. Wolf warned me against companies like this misrepresenting themselves. Always call your appliance vendor first! As for the owner response- please call me! You have several voice messages from me requesting to talk to you!

My wife hired this company (mistake 1) in July of 2023, paid $1500 UP FRONT (mistake 2), here we are 10 months later and my built in gas grill is still not repaired. Only one burner works.. they claimed for the first several months there were part shortages. OK, I get that. But TEN months later and now they won't answer calls from my wife's number -or- return calls from voice mails.
I wouldn't hire this company for ANYTHING. Simply a ripoff. Looks like I'm going to small claims court. -
Avoid this company. Paid for a useless estimate and was ignored on repeated phone calls for them to finish the work. Review is well-earned and I have yet for them to make it right.
A technician (Abdul) came out to give an estimate for a faulty ice machine at a commercial location. $150 to tell me we needed a new filter, despite the filter being barely a few weeks old. We scheduled a service appointment that they never showed up to.
I must have called the office number over a dozen times and left over 4 voice mails before being called back by a representative weeks later, who apologized profusely and claimed the issue would be resolved. Yet, I never received another call back, further call backs and voice mails apparently ignored. A waste of my time and money, and my equipment is still broken. I will update my review if the issue is resolved. -
If I could give negative starts, I would. Adrian came out to look at my Samsung fridge. Did not put fridge into diagnostic mode, took the panel off the back and had to call someone to tell him what to do. He took voltage from the fan and said I needed a new Control Panel and this would cost another 780.00. I said no. Looked the part up and it was 75.00. I ordered it and installed it. No luck. Still doing the same thing it was with the old one in. I have calls into the company about this and I would say, stay away from them and call a more reputable service company. Good luck finding on, this is not it.

The initial work of this company in 2023 was okay. Good service technician who started the repair. Found out additional parts were needed for the appliance to be fully functional. First delay was parts weren’t in. Then parts were in. Then they were the wrong parts but they were ordering. 6+ months later after having MULTIPLE messages ignored, my husband wrote a review. Then suddenly there was all kinds of attention. Saying things like “well we didn’t charge you for the additional parts needed to make your appliance work so technically we don't owe you anything.” Then, realizing that was a mistake, blaming the staff who were in the office at the time, and the number we called wasn’t checked regularly. Weird how, as soon as the review went up, they were able to locate MY phone number and call. We got stories about how hard it was to break into the Portland market so could we PLEASE take down the review. We were promised they would make it right so we decided to give them another shot and now we have been ghosted. AGAIN. No action. No response. No repairs. It’s now been over a year, we are out $1500 with only a semi functional appliance. My husband is ready to take it small claims court at this point.

Excellent experience. I would highly recommend.
