We had a great experience working with Daniel Zavala at Sunset Heating and Cooling. He was incredibly helpful walking us through the options for a new furnace and heat pump system, explaining everything clearly and making the whole process feel easy and low-stress. Daniel was friendly, knowledgeable, and very fair on pricing, which we really appreciated. We even got to go over the details outside while the neighborhood squirrels stopped by to beg for peanuts — a surprisingly pleasant way to talk HVAC. Highly recommend Daniel and Sunset Heating and Cooling.

I recently hired Sunset Heating for a furnace checkup and to replace a condensation pump before the winter season. During the initial furnace inspection, the technician provided me with an estimate for the condensation pump replacement, which I agreed to.
Ron, the technician assigned to my job, was very knowledgeable and capable. He completed the replacement efficiently and was genuinely helpful throughout the process. I appreciated his professionalism and expertise.
However, my main concern with Sunset Heating is the cost of the service. I was charged $483 for the replacement, yet the condensation pump itself retails online for around $45. I feel this pricing is excessive and left me with the impression that I was taken advantage of by the company. While the quality of service was excellent, the cost was not justified by the materials provided.
In summary, while the technician was outstanding, the overall value for the price paid was disappointing. Incidentally, I repaired the PVC condensation line for $ 11.00. Sunset wanted $ 450.00. My advice, get a second opinion before agreeing to a Sunset price.

We SO appreciated Bryan and Zach from Sunset H/C electrical to ground our Elec box and add and fix wall plugs. They were Efficient and knowledgable. I appreciated the quick response to have appt.

Excellent service from Austin and Juan on vent cleaning and sanitizing. I also appreciated the educating me on use of elec filter with an older furnace. Glad to be in good hands.

We've used Brad and Three Rivers H&C annually sine the business began as you can see from the string of 5 star reviews. They've done such a fine job maintaining our 25-year old furnace and a/c that it has prolonged their lives beyond expectations.
Ww know that replacement is coming, but we are grateful to them for earning us another year. And their proposals for replacement are very competitive.
We are very satisfied customers!

I had scheduled Brad and his team to come out and install a new thermostat at our home. Unfortunately the ice storm made that impossible.
Instead, Brad offered to talk me through the process. His technical expertise and calm demeanor were reassuring. The thermostat is now in and working fine!

We have used them for two of our homes, always with great results. We plan to have Three Rivers H&C replace our 23-year old furnace and a/c system when the time comes.

Jesse and Nate were great! Really helped us identify why the house wasn’t evenly heating and provided multiple solutions, including which were more cost effective. We ended up going with the minor patch up and they were in and out in a few hours. My house is nice and warm now. Can’t recommend them enough for my HVAC needs!

Jesse and team did a great job getting my rental scheduled for an install. They found me a program to help landlords improve heating and cooling in Portland homes and made the install more realistic for us. Even without the help from the energy efficiency program help Three rivers is consistently competitive in their pricing and truly the most helpful company with advising and helping their long-term clients. I've been a homeowner for about 30 years, so have had my share of experiences with contractors in various trades. Three Rivers Heating and Cooling is easily at the top of the list. Brad walked into what could have been a big expensive mess, but he took his time and did some research. He found a timely and economical solution for fixing our furnace without ever trying to sell me anything. In fact, when I suggested giving up on this one and just getting a new unit installed, he steered me away from that option! I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Three Rivers and will go straight to them for all our HVAC needs. This has been a truly remarkable experience, and I'm SO thankful!

Just had another great experience with Three Rivers, this time to replace a leaky coil in my 10yr old AC. Hayden and his assistant performed the job as you always wish a contractor would, friendly, informative, professional and thorough. If you're looking for a Heating/AC company you can rely on, you really should give these guys a try!

Overall service was amazing. My thermostat went out and a couple of sensors in air cleaner. Parts were on truck and was able to fix same day!

Three Rivers Heating and Cooling has done a couple of projects for us. The most recent was replacing our furnace with a new one. We appreciated that Jesse first tried a smaller, less expensive fix. When that didn’t work, we went ahead with the new furnace installation, and Jesse deducted the cost of the first visit from our installation bill. The crew were so careful — they had to work in a really confined space — and they cleared up beautifully after they were done.

Jesse was amazing and did a great job. This is just a fantastic company, gets back to you quickly, I can’t recommend them enough. Anyone that needs HVAC work, I’m sending them to Three Rivers. Everyone was very friendly, respectful & the job was completed quickly without any sort of issues. They do a lot of good for our local community, including passing out a lot of candy at the Oak Grove Trunk or Treat & helping Veterans, those are just two things I know of and I’m sure they do more. If you need heating and cooling work, these are the people to call. You won’t be disappointed.

Jesse responded in minutes, indeed was at my door in 25 minutes, fixed my furnace, and gave me a bunch of information on not only my furnace, but furnaces in general and about installing cooling systems. I am so pleased to have made contact with a knowledgeable, responsive repair/install company in Portland. Heck, he even has a brilliant filter replacement program for maintenance that will take a lot of worry out of upkeep at rental properties. Now I sound like a paid advertisement, but I swear I'm just today's customer.

This is the second time we’ve worked with Three Rivers and once again we weren’t let down! Brad and his team were on time, friendly, communicative, and got the job done quickly. Our 15 year old gas furnace was making disconcerting noises, so we had a couple of companies give us bids for both repair and replacement. Three Rivers was able to come out to look at it the day I called, and their bid was much lower than the other company's. Once we decided on repair, they ordered the needed part and were out to install it within a few days. Our furnace is working great again. Very happy we went with Three Rivers!

Cooling the house has been a struggle. Jesse and his worker were able to diagnose the issue in a timely manner and offer reasonable solutions to the problem. Three Rivers was the 3rd HVAC contractor we asked for a bid. Brad was on time and quickly came to his recommended repair to make the heat system back the way it had been. After we spoke to him about temperature balance problems between the 2 levels, he also offered an idea to fix that once and for all. Other contractors were there for a long time and did not come up with the easier idea he did. We just had that work completed and it’s better than we could have expected. Wish the builder had set the system up this way in 2013. Very personable employees and honest bids and great work. I’ll keep them on speed dial!

The team from Three Rivers did a great job. I needed 2 furnaces and 2 AC units replaced, and they got it all done in 3 days. That included a lot of extra work to rebuild and retrofit the existing duct work, because the original build was… creative. I was advised of our options along the way, received helpful recommendations, and the end result is fantastic. We’ll definitely be using Three Rivers for our future maintenance and will gladly recommend them to others.

We called in three rivers after having some prior HVAC people with whom we had very little confidence. They were excellent. Did a knowledgeable, quick and thorough diagnostic of gas furnace lighting issue, uncovering several underlying issues. They also corrected some thermostat heat unsettling that were not programmed correctly. Their service charge was lower than other I have experienced. Highest recommendation for expertise, integrity, communication, and price. A rare combination.

Our heat went out completely, and 3 Rivers was quick to respond and diagnose the issue. We decided to go ahead and replace our system (furnace and coil), instead of just getting repairs and praying nothing else went wrong in the next 2-3 years. The cost was well within reason (I sourced some outside prices for good measure). Jesse and Brad are fantastic owners, who are invested in their work and their staff. Awesome to see them show up on the job to make sure their team was not only doing the job correctly, but teaching them how to problem solve issues. Very prompt and clean. Highly recommend, without reservation
