My husband and I hired Drain Away Rooter to scope a drain in our basement. We were recommended their services. We had a technician show up - he tells us there is no pipe attached to the drain - and that we needed to hire a separate plumbing company to solve our issue. That service call cost us $200. So we called another plumbing company and they quickly let us know that the problem was misdiagnosed. There was a pipe there after all - they showed up - and now we have to pay them for their service call, $300.
My husband spoke with the owner of Drain Away Rooter about getting a refund for our initial service call since his technician misdiagnosed the problem. Makes sense to me - why did we pay $200 for misinformation? The owner's response is that it doesn't matter - we still need to pay for a "service fee". He was adamant about this because his guy showed up and took some equipment out of his truck. To compare: I am a photographer. If I show up to take portraits of someone, they pay me, and I send them files are corrupt - why would I still charge them for "showing up" and "providing a service". Personally, I think it's incredibly unprofessional to make a client pay for your mistake - just because you used your time.

My review is about the delivery driver who blocked the entire road to my office! Rude and inconsiderate! Only needed to move over a few inches so cars could get through. However this idiot thinks his job is more important than all of the rest of us trying to work! SHAME ON YOU!

    Great job! Thanks!

Both times I have called needing assistance with plumbing they have a plumber there the next morning. Knowledgeable plumbers who tell you what needs to be done and done right. Expect to pay some money though, plumbing is not cheap!

I don't ususally write reviews at all, much less negative ones. But I am so appalled by my experience with this company... A technician came out to fix our garbage disposal. Looked down in to it for like 15 seconds, got on his ipad and said it would be over $500 to fix and that we should just replace it for over $1000. The disposal is just a year old! So I had someone else out, he got under the sink and fixed it five minutes. Didn't want to charge us at all. I called to inform the company and the person at the call center was extremely patronizing and just kept making excuses. Completely unacceptable. Beware of extreme upselling with this company!

We had a leak in our main water line. It turned into a massive job because the leak detection company had difficulty locating the leak. Sarkinen plumbing had to do a great deal of work for me over a number of weeks. Derek and Daniel were both co-leading the job. Both are extremely professional, genuine and responsive. I was in a pretty desperate situation, and was afraid that they would try to take advantage of me. They didn't at all. They were honest, direct, and clear with their communication, and very reasonable and fair with their charges. I HIGHLY recommend Sarkinen. I feel strongly you can trust them to be reasonable, and deliver responsive, high quality work that they'll stand behind.

They seem nice, and they came over very quickly. They were prompt about returning calls and texts as well, and while I got cheaper rate quotes, their rate was largely in line with the area at $180 for a call-out.

However, despite me mentioning repeatedly to Nathan that my shower was American Standard both on the phone and in my text message, Nathan took one look and was like: "Yeah, I don't know. I don't do American Standard." I opened part of it for him and showed him where it was leaking, and he was like: "Yeah, you need a new part." I explained that I had already replaced these parts at the advice of another plumber and it still leaked, so could he take a look if something was wrong with the installation perhaps. He just said "No, I don't know anything about American Standard, so I don't want to touch it."

He gave me a helpful recommendation of calling George Morlan, and they connected me to a company that will be here in two days, but that means another two days without a shower and we have to delay leaving on our anniversary trip on Thursday morning to let the new plumbers in. This could have been avoided if AACT Plumbing had told me they don't do American Standard when I told them over the phone AND in a text: "I need an American Standard diverter fixed".

Aact Plumbing responded promptly to me when I needed help with a repair. They were professional, efficient, on-time, and easy to communicate with. Further, during this period of social distancing, they were careful about maintaining distance and took precautions (gloves and masks).

Ken Scott was the plumber on our brand new house. When a problem arose with our sump pump, I reached out to have him come take a look. Between my husband and I, we called almost a dozen times over 2 months and received NO answer. I even left a message stating that I'm new to the Portland area, if he can't help me could he please recommend someone else. NOTHING. Do not waste your time trying to get a hold of Ken at KTP Plumbing. Worthless and disappointing.

Ken was the very best plumber that we have ever encountered. He was recommended by our good neighbor, and sure enough he was not only a really pleasant gentleman but also a highly knowledgeable plumber with reasonable fee (surely less than I expected based on our prior experience). I would definitely go back to him when we have any plumbing issue.

Always fast to respond, honest, reliable, and easy to deal with. Very happy with all of the work they've done for me.

The work they did was actually good, just pay them ahead of time. We had services rendered yesterday at 3PM and my wife has been receiving calls threatening a lien on our house by 3PM today. Maybe I am wrong, but that seems A LITTLE DRASTIC after 24 hours...

This is the second time we have used Power Plumbing of Portland and plumber, Jim Crume. My rental home is 110 yrs. old with a water heater in a crawl space. This was an emergency situation as the cement retaining walls crashed along with several wooden beams. He had very little space, amongst electricians and Terra Firma crews, to stabilize the heater and attach to a new cement wall. I was amazed how he had to maneuver his torso around dirt with about 5" of clearance above his head. Now everything is up to code and working beautifully. He not only has a great personality but is very knowledgeable about old homes and everything plumbing. I would recommend Power Plumbing highly.

Warm and friendly small business plumbing outfit (I prefer small/medium businesses over bigger ones) that was recommended to me from a commercial plumber and I very pleased with my decision to have work done by this company, Linda emailed me the quote and receipt for my records and happy to say In the end, the quoted price was the same as the actual price.

    Fast, friendly, and on budget

I wish I could give a proper review of this company, but I can't even get them to call me back to schedule a time to take a look at the issue I'm having. I've tried twice now... both times I've called I've spoken to some very nice office ladies. but where's the follow-thru? My first call was routed to the person's voicemail that does estimates, I left a message, and 3 weeks later, still no call back. Second attempt, I requested a call back through their website, which they did same day, and I explained my situation again and said I had called before and never received a call back. She apologized and said I would definitely receive a call back this week. Well, it's the end of the week and no call back.. I'm so done trying to give them my business.

I have to say I am quite disappointed with my experience with this company. I had some minor repairs that needed to be done and the guy came out and did it no problem. I was a bit irritated that the hourly rate wasn't detailed on my invoice, but they cleared that up with me. What REALLY upset me, was checking on the basement toilet after he left. I noticed that he had used the toilet, and there was still "evidence" that he did. I sent an email to the company letting them know that this was upsetting to me, and while I don't mind paying for travel time, I do mind paying for the plumber to use my toilets. It's been 4 days and no response.

Called on Tuesday and got a time slot for Friday. Laura called the next day and said they had someone free and they could come out today. Jake came out and did a fantastic job on a tough commercial plumbing problem problem another plumbing contractor did not want to handle. I could not be more pleased. Thank you Power Plumbing!

OK. I called them and left a message for a quote to replace the water main and sewer line to my home. A gal named Kristie responded to my inquiry and claimed that a technician would contact me by the end of the business day for the appointment and quote. The day ended and I never received a contact from anyone. I live directly behind their business location, approximately 600 feet away, less than 1 minutes driving time or a four minute walk. If this is their typical response time, then I can't imagine how much time would transpire if it were an emergency.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll just find another local plumbing company that cares about responding in a timely manner.

Update as of 3-23-2021: You claim that you try to return calls within 1 full business day, however, how do you explain never returning my call? I waited three weeks without receiving a response from you before writing this review. Well Kristie, this is the only response I've ever received from you people and it's hardly a timely or direct method of responding to a customers inquiry. Next time try calling the customers home or cell phone instead of leaving an indirect lame response to a review left on YOUR website. Hey Kristie, if responding to a review that was generated three weeks after an inquiry qualifies as responding to a customer in a timely manner, then you and your project coordinator have alot to learn about customer service.

To clarify what occured in our conversation I NEVER claimed it was an emergency nor did I ever receive a return call from anyone at your business, that includes you and the service coordinator.......and I waited 3 weeks before posting this review. So don't cry foul for an event that NEVER occured, and to be clear, YOU guys NEVER responded to my inquiry and that's pathetic for any contractor busy or otherwise. I also NEVER said my project was an emergency, instead I expressed in the first paragraph of this review that "I can't imagine how much time would transpire if it were an emergency" because you idiots NEVER responded to my initial inquiry.

How dare you blame your incompetence on an exchange that NEVER occured. NOW YOU'RE DECEPTIVE....That's more pathetic and inexcusable than never responding to an inquiry. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS BUSINESS MODEL, YOU'LL DEFINITELY NEED IT.
