We had to get our whole house repiped. I got several bids but most plumbers aren't big enough to do a whole house repipe or had too many extra steps to follow. The biggest plumber in the area who is used to getting all the bids wasn't forthcoming with all the information we needed to make a decision, and I felt bullied and pushed into doing more work than was actually needed (replacing piping that didn't need to be replaced that would have added $3,500 to the price of the job). Power Plumbing came referred by a friend, and I could tell they were different by how thorough the person was who came out to do the estimate. He went into the crawl space and inspected the whole house, noting precisely what did and didn't need to be replaced, so that he could do an accurate bid. While the bid wasn't lower in price, we felt like if anything went wrong while in the middle of the huge job, they would deal with it honestly, so we chose them.

The job took an entire week. Every day we left the house for work, during the day, the plumbers came in and worked while we were gone and were gone by the time we got home. Our water service was not interrupted during the time we were in the house. They also cleaned up after themselves like they weren't there at all, which was especially important because the entry to the crawl space is in my child's room and her room looked the same as how she left it.

A few years back we had had rodents in our crawl space; the guys found a bunch of dead ones in traps and one day took a bag and cleared them all out and basically cleaned our crawl space for us while they were working, as well.

Other plumbers stated that this type of job punches a bunch of holes in our drywall to get to the pipes but the plumbers only opened up one section of drywall behind the washer and did the rest through the crawl space, which I can imagine was more difficult than just going through the walls in the house. The damage to the walls was small enough and not in a visible location, so my husband can replace it without us needing to bring in someone to repair and paint a bunch of holes in the drywall. Other plumbers giving estimates had talked about us needing to bring tile people out to cut through tile so they could access the pipes, creating hundreds if not thousands of dollars more in damage just to get the basic work done.

Overall it was surprising how easy this major work was on our family and I was very happy with the choice to use Power Plumbing.

Carl is to main line plumbing what a surgeon is to the circulatory system. Since I had dug up the soil and lifted the culvert, he had the leak that I couldn't find and it's cause diagnosed in 10 minutes. Two treatment plans were offered for potential immediate fix and probable permanent fix. (Hope the Portland Water Bureau will be able to help me with a leakage rebate.) So thankful for his recent visit to bid the job. So fortunate he is in the area and so knowledgeable just like those at U of W who isolated the antibody to shutdown the virus a couple days goes. Carl brings hope, powerful hope to our community's aging infrastructure. If you need real help for a real repair this company has what it takes and is honest about it.

Power Plumbing to the rescue! My sister recommended them to me & they were available first thing the next morning! Great customer service & fast. AND when the City of Portland came out because of an issue with the main street valve - the City of Portland said "they did my kitchen!". Of course they did. Super grateful for their expedient, efficient, affordable & professional work. Turned a super stressful situation in my home to a major relief. Thank you, Josh & Carl!

I called Power Plumbing with a pipe burst and flowing water under our house from the cold weather. Unfortunately, every other plumber was dealing with the same issue all around Portland due to below freezing temps. I was on the wait list with 10 plumbers till calling Power Plumbing. They were so helpful and showed compassion upon hearing my situation. Christine said they were also booked up till the next day but she would try one more option to see if she could help. Little did I know she had called the owner, and within minutes, his truck was pulling up to my house! He quickly discovered the problem and solved the problem within minutes. I will call Power Plumbing for all my future plumbing issues. They provided exceptional customer service and did it with urgency and a smile! Thank you Power Plumbing!

I have used Power Plumbing's services several times and each time I have been more than happy with the work done; everything from unclogging a drain to installing a fixture for me. The women in the service department are very friendly and knowledgeable, and if an event arises they don't know the answer to, they make sure to ask someone who does. My family always uses them and we will continue to do so in the future.

Jeff advised me on a shower valve replacement and was tremendously helpful. He answered all my questions, and came up with solutions I never even thought about. Excellent service!

Power Plumbing has ignored my six messages, being told by anyone I reach in the office the owner will be getting back to me, for an itemized bill or explanation of charges. The bill was paid immediately and we are not arguing charges, but the guy was at my house for less than 40 minutes and we had a bill for over $300. All I have been requesting was an explanation of charges. It wasn't an emergency visit, not on a weekend or holiday, and when I asked the guy while he was leaving what the service charge just to come to the house was he replied "I don't know the office takes care of that" and left, also taking one of our moving blankets that we put on the floor so any water was caught. While they got the job done, and it was a simple job cleaning a clogged line, I would never use this company unless you know the price up front.

Waste of time and money
I had a Grohe tub faucet to instal. The Power plumber told me it could not be installed, materials were missing. I phoned another plumber - a good one after he left and send pictures of what I had and he said everything was there and it will be easy to instal. So, it cost me over $500 to have the Power Plumbing guy come out and look at what was needed, I ordered the Grohe faucet but he declined to instal it and he tore out the old faucet, something I could have done in an hour. This tear out and the inspection cost me over $500. I could have torn out the old faucet myself in an hour. If I had not phoned the other plumber and believed the Power plumber, I would have returned the Grohe faucet, waited several weeks (without a bath tub), and then spent another $500 or more for the Power Plumber to put this in. Experienced plumbers are worth the wait, don't use Power Plumbers!

I can tell that Customer Service is there top Priority. I was tasked on Monday to get a plumber out to fix the water heater at work (no hot water employees had to take cold showers).... All of the other plumbing companies told me that they could not help until the the end of the week or some even told me that I would have to wait until the following Monday. Kristie at Power Plumbing took the challenge and got someone out right away. Adam was great he replaced the hot water heater, and fixed a few other problems. Power Plumbing will be my first choice to call in the future for work and for my personal home!!! They are by far the best company, and they have the best customer service....

Absolutely ridiculous company. DO NOT USE THEM. They charge you from when they get in the car (not on the worksite.) They take their time doing the job racking their $265 and hour bill. Rude customer service. My experience - they want to charge $1100 for replacing a $40 sink faucet. Terrible Company.

Positive – Plumber performed good quality work.
Negatives – Low quote seemed great on initial inspection but final bill was > x3 quoted amount. Initial job inspection/quote did not properly scope the job resulting in plumber being dispatched without standard/required tools. Customer then charged for this error at $200/hr. to source necessary tools. In future will look elsewhere for a transparent, professional plumbing outfit who arrive prepared to perform work.

I've used Power Plumbing many times and their plumbers are always professional and do great work, but I hate the way this business charges for work. Today I needed a bathroom-sink drain-line cleared and the p-trap replaced - not a big job, but it cost almost $450. First hour of labor was $200 and is the minimum charge, which I expected, but I was charged for 1.75 hours b/c they start the clock as the plumber leaves his last job. So you can expect to pay $50-$100 for their driving time. Also you will pay a huge mark-up on parts, which is perhaps normal for plumbers. I've been very loyal to this business b/c they are local and do great work, but if I'm going to pay for their travel time I may as well get a plumber from farther away who doesn't charge for travel time.

Adam has repeatedly done an amazing job for us! He was a referral from a family friend and I'm so thankful to have found him! Plumbing issues might be one of the most stressful situations to be in and after having a not-so-pleasant experience with another plumber I thought it might be impossible to find someone reliable, trustworthy and pleasant to work with. Adam and Power Plumbing have saved us twice now and beyond just doing quality work, he really goes above and beyond for customer service. I can't recommend enough!

Recently used Power Plumbing to replace a toilet. Their office was responsive and scheduling was easy. Plumber arrived on time and did a great job. Final cost was as estimated over the phone during my initial call.

Saw the truck on the road and they had a trump sticker on their windshield. I definitely wont be working with them ever.

This company did an excellent job meeting our needs for an urgent needed repair for our house we are selling. The plumber "Steve" was very knowledgeable and professional and was an all around pleasure to have in our home. Love his always there genuine smile and please tell him that we appreciate his excellent workmanship and attitude. Our sincere Thanks !

Our water would not stop running in the tub. I called nearly 30 places in town to get help and all but two were too busy to get us in today. The first company showed up, refused service unless we signed off that it was OK if they made the situation worse, and was going to charge $170/hour. Well, I am not dumb and I sent them away. I'd rather wait a day to use the water than work with someone like that. Just after I sent them away, the office of Power Plumbing called me back from my inquiry earlier in the day to let me know one plumber finished a bit early and could come take a look. Steve arrived and SAVED THE DAY! We have a 66 year old house with original plumbing and he not only stopped the flowing water but also stopped the leak that was there and fixed the ever-spinning water levers. AND he was so pleasant. Oh, and this was all done for less than the cost of one hour with the other company. Finally, my husband who works in commercial construction arrived home and said he loves Power Plumbing and uses them all the time on his jobs.

This Fall I had a leak in my water system. My home is 71 years old, and we still had a lot of galvanized pipes throughout the house, and this was the second leak I had experienced. My former plumbing company wasn’t doing small repair jobs any longer, but they referred me to Power Plumbing. I called Kristie in Customer Service and she was great. Steve came out to my house and did a great job repairing the leak. In the process he mentioned that his company could replace all of the galvanized piping with plastic piping, since it was reaching the end of its useful live. Carl came out and gave me a very competitive bid for the job, which I accepted. On a Tuesday Milo, Adam and Taylor showed up and they worked diligently over the next four days to complete the work. They were very pleasant to have around, they worked hard, cleaned up after themselves every night, and in the process improved the appearance of the water system and value of my home. I would recommend this company and their employees without reservation.

Many many thanks to Brian who was just out to my house at the end of a long day for him. He was here because I couldn’t figure out why the water pressure was so weak from a new outside faucet he’d installed for me a week earlier. Brian was very thorough in checking it out and discovered a kink in the hose inside the hose caddy. Problemed solved, and his earlier work on installation was perfect. Power Plumbing was recommended by our general contractor for a commercial plumbing installation. Their quote was lower than a competing quote, not because their work is lesser quality but because Mike found a more efficient way to tie the new drain into our existing system. The installation went very smoothly, despite the challenge of exposing pipes buried in a slab of concrete. Mike was efficient, on-time, and clearly knew what he was doing. We're now 9 months past the installation and the new service is working flawlessly. Couldn't be more pleased!
