We have used Halligan & Sons to install new HVAC system & service a high efficiency boiler at our new house and to install a new heater and HVAC system at our old house. I can't say enough good things about Mark Halligan and his team. He is honest and responsive and I would recommend this company to anyone. We have used other companies in the past to service our equipment and their customer support just can't compare this Halligan and sons. The sales rep worked to find rebates to get us money back on our new equipment and that saved us some money.

The sales rep was very prompt, explained options thoroughly and got the replacement scheduled quickly. This is our send time using them and they have been great.

Had an old natural gas furnace replaced. Absolutely the best! Mark Halligan was responsive to numerous phone calls and all the work that was requested was performed. The installers were excellent and the installation was very professionally done!

In October, a zone in my home stopped heating. I just moved in so I wasn't familiar with my equipment yet. I needed my high-efficiency boiler cleaned anyway, so when the guy came out I mentioned the problem.

He didn't gripe about additional questions, he tested my thermostat and a bunch of stuff. He accurately determined the pump for that zone was broken. He asked if I wanted him to fix it (I did) so he went out, got a pump, and installed it. 2 hours later, totally done. He even spent time teaching me how the systems operate.

Completely ready for winter - good value I think. No complaining, no problem. 100% fix and the positive attitude was much appreciated.

The workers at Halligan & sons have always been easy to work with. They are a small family run business Their oil prices are OK and the delivery is usually the next day after requested.

I used them to install a new boiler and hot water tank. They were the low bidder though not by much. My regular (non-heating) plumber pointed out an optional expansion tank on the HW heater should have been installed but wasn't (its optional).

But there where pre-existing problems with the heating system that I simply could not get them to focus on, even though it would have been paying work. I also learned that a longtime customer of theirs near me stopped using them. Finally, when the system they installed started acting up, I called them for warranty information. The owner eventually called back and said that they wanted to make it right and would get back to me about having someone out. Not surprisingly, that call never happened.

I have a new guy here now and he is looking at the system they installed and pointing out all the corners Halligan cut, which made their price lower but now I have more costs due to the corners they cut.

My recommendation? Avoid.

We are long time customers of j Halligan. We buy our heating oil from them, and they maintain our boiler and burner. We also use their plumbers on our heating pipes and floor baseboard heating.
Halligan offers no less than three plans for buying oil. We've used their budget plans for a long time. Their delivery drivers are qualified, their staff are courteous and understanding, and the business owners will make certain you have met them as a master of course during the year.
Heating oil markets are volatile, and a lot of companies draw you in with impossibly low pricing that rapidly goes away once you've signed on.
The team at j Halligan is not one of those companies.

Shout out to Halligan & Sons Heating and Air conditioning. Their price for oil is reasonable. The oil is good quality and it lasts. I had an issue after business hours. I called spoke to someone through the answering service. Got a call back in about an hour. Appointment was set for next business day. The servicemen arrived on time. Issue was solved. The servicemen and staff were very professional. I would definitely recommend Halligan and Sons to any home owner who values their money and quality oil that lasts.

We had presentations from six other local air conditioning companies and J. Halligan was the best. We chose them for many reasons for our whole-house air conditioning system, at our home in Merion Station. They had a low-pressure presentation that made sense to us economically and was tailored to our home's needs. The boss and his staff displayed the utmost of care and professionalism. Each one of their workers was conscientious and talented and neat and thorough. Their salesman who came and priced the job had such a nice way about him and was readily available for advice and questions. Their office staff made any changes we needed and communicated it to their on-site team. The price was very reasonable and the machinery they gave us was state of the art - they even upgraded a piece for us because they wanted to avoid industry delays in the supply chain due to the pandemic. They gave us a higher efficiency machine and were happy to get it installed extremely quickly - all the while we heard how so many people weren't getting jobs done in the world. We had a collaborative approach about what vent would go where, and they were eager to make changes in the name of effectiveness. I can't recommend them enough.

Just recently I received information about a choice of a plan that would be most beneficial to me by setting up a budget plan for the months when I would be using fuel to heat my house.
Because I’ve had a long standing relationship with the Halligan Company I called them to get their opinion of what plan would be best for my home . I have found the Halligan Company to be very reliable about taking care of any repairs if needed in a timely manner. I trust them because they have always proved that I can depend on them.

I have used Halligan to supply oil to my home for over 15 years and have never had a problem. Although my neighborhood will soon convert to gas Halligan will continue to maintain the equipment in my home and handle the conversion details. I can't recommend them more highly.

My air conditioner broke on the hottest day of the year. It was also a Sunday. Halligan came out that day and replaced a part. I am so happy with the expert service.

These guys were professional and straightforward with me. In and environment where there are so many contractors out there ready to take advantage of people, I was able to ascertain pretty quickly that these were guys I could trust. I have been ordering oil for my home from J Halligan & Sons for almost 10 years in amounts 150 gallons each time. My tank was more than half full. I called J Halligan & Sons ordered 150 gallons of oil Tuesday 8/20/24 and paid $568.00 in full by credit card on Tuesday. On Thursday 8/22/24 I received a voicemail from a male that stated he was the J Halligan & Sons oil deliver driver. He stated that he knew I ordered 150 gallons of oil but he accidentally gave me 204 gallons of oil. He left a bill at the door for $775.75. What did he do with the other 54 gallons of oil? That's impossible, we monitor our oil use and 54 gallons more would not have fit in our tank. That's Fraud

These guys are really great and I never have to worry about our oil tank going empty! But more important than that - they're responsive when we call, they come to the house QUICKLY, and when we had an issue with our "whistle" in our tank, they took multiple rapid steps to address it so we could get a full fill in there. We've been using J. Halligan & Sons for about 2 years for our oil here in Montgomery Country and we're thrilled.

I have been using J. Halligan & Sons for heating, A/C, and hot water since 1976, and I would recommend them to anyone without any reservations. Most recently, they replaced my hot water heater, which had started leaking less than a year after one of their servicemen, at a routine system cleaning, warned me that it was due for replacement. They have always been very reliable, and their rates seem reasonable. Their people are prompt, courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. I feel lucky to know them.
