Plumbing reviews in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Had Davey Plumbing come in for some small valve and pipe replacement projects. Scheduling was easy, getting an estimate in advance was accurate, and the plumber was knowledgeable and efficient. Will definitely use again and recommend to others!

Once again Davey Plumbing came through. I am a multiple repeat customer of this fine company. The plumbers are professional, on time, and highly skilled. Add fair prices to that and it's an unbeatable combination. As always, I'm very pleased with the work. Thank you very much.

My toilet is still broken. I'm out the money I paid Davey and have to find a new plumber to come back and do the job correctly. When I contacted them to let them know the toilet wasn't fixed, all they said was: "It was working when we left." I asked if they were seriously not going to come back out and/or compensate me and got ZERO RESPONSE. It's extremely unethical to take someone's money for a job not completed. AVOID them unless you want to lose a bunch of money.

I used Davey Plumbing to clear a commode back up. They were prompt and completed the job with a good price. My only complaint was the mess they left. I am not confident they are able to do more than to clear a drain.

The guys at Davey Plumbing installed a natural gas line inside our home and also ran the exterior line to the street. The work was done very well. And the guys were professional and easy to work with. If we ever needed work done at our home again I would definitely call Davey.

We are an investment group that purchased a home in Brookline. When we got the water turned on we discovered, much to our dismay, that the water main was leaking between the main shutoff valve in the garage and the street. We found Davey Plumbing on Google Earth and gave them a call since they were right around the corner. They were super courteous and responsive and gave us a very reasonable quote for the repair. They replaced the line so we could get water to the house and discovered several other leaks inside the walls. They tracked down all the leaks and gave us another great bid for the work which we promptly approved and they promptly repaired. They helped us turned what could have been a bad deal into a very profitable one. We will use them again for other properties we purchase in Pittsburgh and definitely recommend their work. Super professional especially Mrs. Terry Davey who handled our invoice payment.

Needed a gas line extended for my dryer and a hose bib replaced for my washer. They were excellent. Came the day after I called and arrived promptly at 8:00am. The work was done very quickly and with much care and attention to detail. Highly recommend this company.

I have dealt with them twice. the first time was good service, Jamie was knowledgeable, worked quickly, and despite getting a drop of pipe dope on the carpet (that doesn't come out), he did excellent work for a fair price.
The second time, I called on a Saturday night and asked to have something set up for first thing in the morning. Come 8am I had nothing set up so I called back. I was told I would get a call soon. 9:45 I got a call from the on call plumber, explained that Sunday was a higher rate than normal working hours, and I told him that was fine. I explained that I wanted him to come out either way, and said I would prefer to pay with a credit card, but cash was fine if that was my only option. after a quick call to his boss and finding out that credit card wouldnt work unless I waited until Monday, I said I will pay cash, no problem. I was told I would need to have $400 up front and i would get a refund if it was less ( mind you, 2 weeks previous, NONE of this was an issue, I paid in cash, with a tip, upon completion of the job). I felt like I was being treated a little bit like a criminal, but whatever, I said OK and the plumber said he would be out in an hour. I went to the ATM and grabbed the $400 for him, and waited. 10 minutes before he was supposed to arrive I text him, reminding him of the address and that he could park in the driveway. I got the response that he had another (gas line) job come up and that he wasnt going to make it.... Mind you, I did not have a working toilet for the last 16 hours.
ATM fee down the drain (small, but still means something), still no plumber, and a broken toilet, I had to call around and find another solution. I will not use or recommend Davey at any of my properties again. -
Take note that the good reviews are all old!
I contacted them on a Monday and described “in detail” the job I needed done and that it was a VERY time sensitive job. On Wednesday they sent their man out and he spent over an hour reviewing the job with me. He estimated to be about $10,000 and I said that was a lot more than I was expecting but it was perfectly fine because the job needed to be done ASAP. Not hearing from them for two days, on Friday I called them and they don’t answer! However late in the day on Friday I get an email saying they’ve decided not to do the job. Now I’ve lost an entire seven days because it’s the weekend and I can’t call anyone else and this job as I stated is extremely time sensitive.
To have one of their office ladies send me a short email after wasting a week of my time for a $10,000 job instead of having someone in management call and express their regret and apologize for wasting a whole week of my time… Very unprofessional.
As my mother always used to say “if the rolls arrive at the table and they’re not warm you can tell the foods gonna be lousy too.” I’ve never found her to be wrong yet!
I own multiple rental properties in the city and my business partner owns many more. I originally recommended Davey plumbing to him because on my initial call the ladies in the office were so nice. Well… Lesson learned. -
Called them because the toilet needed to be fixed the day my mom came home to begin hospice. Pretty sure his name was Craig, and we could not have been treated better. He identified another problem that will need addressed and i will be calling them again.

I put in a call to Davey Plumbing for a small job, replacing kitchen faucet. Sometimes it's hard to get help for a small job such as this. My call was promptly returned by Maureen, who was very friendly and helpful. She scheduled me for 10:00 that morning. Craig arrived promptly at 10:00. He assessed the job, explained to us what needed to be done, and started to work. Our plumbing is old and it was difficult to remove old faucet, but he had all the proper tools. He replaced our faucet and installed new valves leading to the sink to prevent future problems. He finished within the hour and it looked beautiful. He was courteous, helpful, friendly, and explained everything in detail. Price was more than reasonable and he didn't try to talk us into doing more than needed. I would definitely recommend this company and have them return anytime I have a plumbing problem. I prefer to work with a small company who truly cares about their workmanship and performance.
