Matt Mertz Plumbing was recommended to us by two of our clients so we reached out when we needed to address an issue pertaining to our storm/sewer lateral. Technician, Chris Sperl, stopped by our home and gave me excellent advice, though it cost him the opportunity to do the work I thought I wanted. Chris was experienced, friendly, and professional. The least I can do is leave "Matt Mertz Plumbing" a good review!

I have always used these guys for years and been very pleased on smaller jobs. In total 5-6 times, 3 different guys all very nice and knowledgeable.
Recently our sewer backed up and Adam came out to snake the line. After some hard attempts he finally got the line to drain but the camera showed roots had crushed the pipe. He was able to pinpoint the location and give me an up front cost to repair. I got three other estimates and Matt Mertz was in the lower of them with a much better warranty. We scheduled with them and the repair was dug up in no time. We found there to be issues going into the street also but when Adam consulted with the owner they were able to give me an option to reline the old pipe instead of digging up the street! In total on this job I dealt with 6-7 employees in total including the actual owner. Top notch the entire way. It's horrible to have to deal with a repair like this but much easier when dealing with true professionals. I will never think twice about using them in the future.

We used Matt Mertz Plumbing for an issue we ran into with our new house. When what was initially a sewage backup clog became more persistent and snaking the pipes only provided a short term fix, we researched and found Matt Mertz. From the initial phone call to the end of the project, every person we contacted was courteous, professional, and very respectful of our time.

They ran a camera snake and showed me exactly what was wrong with the sewage system (which made perfect sense with the age of the house and the issues we were seeing), and gave us several options for a fix. We never felt pressured at any point, and they handled the relining of the outdoor lines and installation of a new trap incredibly quickly.

5 start service all around, I was very, very impressed with Matt Mertz Plumbing and will definitely definitely recommend them to anyone I know.

We had a slow leak in the ceiling underneath our bathroom. We were very happy that they could come fix the problem so quickly and close to a holiday. Eric was a very knowledgeable plumber and he figured out what the problem was right away. Such a nice guy and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend him and this company!

This was the third time I've used Matt Mertz. Each time, they've been great. The reason I'm writing a review after my 3rd experience is because Derek did such an incredible job. He was very professional and friendly, he fixed all of our issues, and explained what was happening with each issue. We'll continue to go to Matt Mertz for all of our plumbing needs.

I was 100% impressed and pleased by the service at Matt Mertz Plumbing. I called several plumbing companies to fix a broken sewer pipe (and ultimately a tap that was never installed in the first place), and Matt Mertz's team was easily the fastest, friendliest, and most communicative of all of them. From the first telephone call requesting service, to the follow-up calls and confirmation calls from Bob, to the service provided by Ron, Dylan, and the rest of the team - it was all excellent. I am so grateful for the work they did, and that they were able to do it so efficiently and with such class (they must have fielded a million questions from my neighbors). I don't think I've ever experienced such amazing service from another provider before, and I will recommend Matt Mertz Plumbing for all of my friends and neighbors ongoing.

Tim from Matt Mertz was excellent. He installed two emergency shut-off gas valves....one on my stove and one on my water heater ( both required before selling our home). He also fixed a leaking faucet. Tim was right on time, very professional and polite and did an excellent job. We have used Matt Mertz twice before and they are a very professional outfit and we highly recommend them.

In January 2021, my husband and I hired Matt Mertz Plumbing to remove an old gravel dry well in our front yard, install a new plastic dry well, redirect underground pipes, install new gutter downspouts, and repair a section of nearby concrete in the driveway. Within days of the estimate, the company was ready to begin the work. Two employees showed up at my house on time, and they were extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and skilled. The price was hundreds of dollars less than another company’s estimate. The employees left no mess behind, and since then, the dry well and downspouts have worked extremely well. In May 2021, I called this company again to permanently remove a sprinkler/irrigation system inside my basement. The employee showed up within his estimated time window, and he had a nice personality. He removed, capped, and connected several pipes, and he used hydraulic cement to fill in holes in the cinder blocks. The price was reasonable. Then West View Water Authority emailed me their specifications for removing an irrigation system (I wish that I had received the specifications earlier), and Matt Mertz sent a second plumber to my house to check the first plumber’s work for free. West View Water Authority inspected and approved the work. I will definitely continue to use Matt Mertz Plumbing in the future.

Thanks! I was very impressed with the Rob, the gentleman and technician that came out on an emergency hot water tank replacement on a Sunday morning. The removal and install was done quickly, professionally and all the while respecting for my home and property. I maybe easily impressed but I have to say the reworking of the copper piping is like artwork. Rob even wiped up the floor up after he was done. I've had previous companies that that was not even a thought. Great Job! I will definitely use Matt Mertz Plumbing for all my plumbing needs in the future. No doubt about it.

This is not the same company it was when Matt owned it.
The plumber Earl tried his best but could not make the snake go in the direction of the clog. When I suggested snaking from another drain I was rebuffed..
Matt Mertz said they would have to dig up the concrete and gave a bid of $4,500.00

Another plumber I had come over cleared all 3 drains within an hour.

We did NOT have to dig up the concrete and MIKE from Mertz
was supposed to call me back so he had the girl Amanda do his dirty work and say they were not coming as planned.

I am glad to use another company. I wont ever use Matt Mertz again.

I am incredibly dissatisfied with the plumbing “service” I received. The technician completed a lackadaisical inspection of the problem area and did not provide a diagnosis for the issue, which made it difficult to decide whether to move forward with the service; however, this difficulty quickly evaporated once the technician told me the price.

Failing to disclose the difference in price between weekday service calls and weekend service calls while making the service appointment is an extremely shady and frankly unethical business practice. It’s ridiculous to assume the customer should be aware of this when the company calls themselves a 24/7 service. For example, I was charged an excessive amount for someone to just come in my house and run my faucet for 2 minutes because I called for help on a weekend. If I had called on a weekday I would have been charged “only” $99 for someone to run my faucet for 2 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. I cannot recommend this business to anyone in need of plumbing work.

Agree with previous posters that this is not the same company as even a year ago...this used to be our go-to plumber. We wanted to get our sewer lined preventatively -- only a few small cracks, didn't need to be excavated and replaced, just lined. Last year Matt Mertz/Armstrong quoted us around $9,000, which was on par with other estimates we got. When we finally got around to doing it this summer, the sewer looked exactly the same and we got a quote from their plumber Chris for over $15,000!!! When I asked about the difference in price I got a vague answer about the equipment being expensive. I called their office to get a second opinion and was told they stand by each quote and would not send a different plumber out. We ended up getting the job completed by another company for $8,000 and we're very satisfied.

We were so impressed by the hard work & efforts of the Matt Mertz team! They were able to fully & professionally install our stacked washer dryer within the timeframe promised, even despite a couple curveballs upon getting started.

We are so grateful that the Matt Mertz team was able to salvage this job. We had hired another company to start this project, but quickly realized they were not equipped to complete the job as they had bidded & scheduled. They were also shockingly lacking in customer service, and communication / organization at the office. So, we fired them & turned to Matt Mertz, and it was one of the best decisions I've made for our home.

The Matt Mertz team worked hard not only to install everything professionally, but also to correct the mess left behind by another company. We sincerely appreciate their hard work, and clear communications about the plan during every major step of the project.

This company went above and beyond the basic requirements to get this job done. They left our space in much better shape than they found it, clean, and all ready to use. They even followed up with a check-up, per my request, to make sure the final details of the project were sound.

Would not hesitate to recommend the Matt Mertz team, and will call them again for our next project!

I've used Matt Mertz plumbing for 15 years. I am now moving on after they tried charging $500 for a simple outdoor faucet replacement. Their work has always been excellent (replaced all my copper to PEX) but can't afford the crazy prices they are now charging.

I can't give Matt Mertz enough praise! A guy named Tim came out to find/fix a leak, which we thought was coming from behind the shower, but it was later determined to be coming from the floor. He suggested going behind the wall in the other bathroom to fix the problem to not mess up the tile. He was very nice, courteous and beyond helpful and and professional.

I have used their service in the past and once again they don't fail to deliver consistent quality workmanship.

I contact Matt Mertz Plumbing late afternoon and they were able to get a team out the next day to replace a hot water heater. Their price was very fair, customer service fast/clear and the team themselves were two of the most polite/professional service techs I have dealt with. They followed COVID precautions and were in and out quickly after explaining the new system and even addressed a rusted out valve there as well. Thank you! Can't recommend enough.

SIMPLY AWESOME!!!

I called MMP around 8 am and spoke to Cindy. She had me take some pictures of my water heater to email over to them. Within 45 minutes I spoke to Diane, she gave me the price and said she could have someone out to my house by early afternoon the same day. Diane called me back at roughly 11:30 am to let me know a crew had finished a bigger job early and could be at my house in 45 minutes (they got here in 30!).

Jim and Joe were AWESOME! We went over the issues and they answered ALL of our questions and then some. Within an hour and a half they had the old water tank out and the new one installed along with a pressure regulator. Their work was EXCELLENT and the price was good! They will be my go to for any future plumbing needs. I asked MMP to get me a quote for a new furnace and AC unit, I will be sure to edit the review and let everyone know how that goes.

I would HIGHLY recommend Matt Mertz Plumbing! Not only did they stand behind their advertised claim that they would beat any written quote, but they rearranged their schedule in order to accommodate mine. Ron Orlowski is who conducted the work at my home and what a true professional. Polite, respectful, and took the time each day to to show me what was done, and what was next. The job required most of the parking area of my driveway to be torn up and when they were done it was like they were never even there. I cannot express how much I recommend Matt and his crew.

These guys are the best in the area price wise, time wise and work quality wise. I have used them 3-4 times now and find the reasonable. A guy name Jim who works here is wonderful.
They installed water heater and very reasonable cost like 50% lower, the only other company comparable was Mr Water heater but they just do water heaters and not plumbing
They repaired a leak in kitchen sink drain pipe which was not easily accessible and was leaking in garage due to corrosion, other competing companies were charging me arm and leg.
