We woke up to a clogged toilet. Even though the situation remedied itself while the technician was on his way, he was very polite and informative. He gave us tips to avoid the issue in the future.

I initially left a 5 star review after John Yokel, Michael Pearrow, Ryan Welsh came out to assess and fix a sewer back up on my property.
I was charged $480 for them to fix soft tissue build up in my sewer line. Given the broken promises I’ve endured since 9/22/2025, I have to update my review to one star. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.

On Monday, John and Michael promised to send a me a plumbing report by end of day. Long story short, I have an insurance claim and need a plumbing report to move my claim forward. I gave the field team until Wednesday, as a courtesy, to send me the report, called their office, spoke with Emelia to express my concerns with their delay, and I was promised a call back from a manager - no one called. I called again on Thursday, spoke with a Cindie who was very nice, the best she could do was send me the water mitigation report, and told me a master plumber would call me this week to tell me when to expect the plumbing report, and no one called me. Called back today, 9/26/2025, spoke with Diane or Diana, communicated my frustration, and the best she could do was say to expect a call back from John Yokel’s supervisor - no one called me back. Now I have to go into the weekend with no idea when I can get the plumbing report that I’m entitled to receiving AFTER PAYING $480 to clear a main sewer line clog.

Apart from this concern, John Yokel performed the drain clearing without putting a camera in the sewer line to confirm it there were anymore clogs. Ryan Welsh arrived an hour later to put the camera in the sewer line and was here for an hour trying and failing to get through my house trap to see if the line under my driveway was clogged before it met with the municipal sewer line. To cut a long story short, Roto-Rooter left my property that day saying I had a collapsed house trap in my driveway and that I needed to excavate my driveway to replace it for $6700+ dollars. Ryan did not even offer to have someone come out with a smaller camera to confirm if my issue was resolved or if I did in fact have a collapsed house trap.

I called McVay Plumbing to come out for a 2nd opinion on 9/24/2025 and they stated my house trap was not collapsed and did not need to be replaced under any circumstances after making it through the house trap in under a minute.

I will continue to call the office until I get my pluming report as this unacceptable. For my frustration and hardship, I should be given 50% of my money back. I though I could trust Roto-Rooter but since they don’t care about my living situation and the fact that I can’t get my basement fixed until I the plumbing report, I have no choice but to tell everyone I know to never call Roto-Rooter since they can’t be trusted. McVay Plumbing is leaps and bounds ahead of this company and I regret calling Roto-Rooter to my property.

Our toilet was backing up, overflowing, and also backing into the bath tub. We couldn't get it draining. Matt came out and went right to problem detection and fixed it. Snaked the toilet and made sure the bath tub was draining properly as well. He was very friendly and professional. We appreciate his services!

Robert from Roto Rooter was the plumber that repaired our leaking kitchen faucet. He was quick, knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. He he gave us a $100 discount for being a Marine veteran. The old faucet had corrosion and buildup and needed replaced. We received a fair price and quality work. Thank you.

Their technician Kennita was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. She walked me through the problem and offered great service. She is a great representative for your company and I hope you appreciate her contributions to your brand

The tech Nick did an excellent job helping to hopefully take care of my issue of a backup drain in my basement. The dispatcher Lewis also was helpful to get Nick to my house (even though I was given a time of arrival between 6:41pm to 7:41pm and Nick arrived around 8:30pm). Nick did show me that he didn’t get a text for the job until around 7:30pm). The lady I talked to at the office in Chicago needs training and was not helpful at all. She told me that I was “rude” when I tried to correct her on the times she was quoting. She had no understanding what my family was dealing with and getting accurate information on arrival in the evening was critical. That woman needs training on how to appropriately handle customers.

I had the pleasure of having Jason come and assist me on what would be my best option for my water heater replacement. He came back in a timely manner on the day we agreed and put my new water heater in. I am satisfied with my product and with the price.Thank you again!

Devin was great and made sure I understood everything before the work was done and as he was installing the new water tank. I rushed home after finding out there was water all over my basement floor. Less than 2 hours later in the evening he showed up. Was back in the following morning and had everything done pretty quickly. This company is my go to. Will definitely be using again.

I know Roto-Rooter gets a bad rap for being expensive, but I had a really good experience! I had a clogged sewer drain and water backed up in my basement. I needed someone to come the same day and I was able to make an appointment online and have someone come within 2 hours.i called and spoke to someone too, Idna I believe, and she was very helpful and answered my questions about pricing. It's no charge for them to come out, and they give you a quote. Nick was kind, professional, took his time and explained everything clearly and even answered questions about other plumbing issues I'm having with noisy water pipes. The flat rate price initially seemed like a lot, but it ended up being a stubborn clog so he was here awhile. I'm very pleased and will call Nick for any future issues! I also get a 6 month guarantee!! I give Roto-rooter 5 stars, hope all technicians are like Nick!

The wife and I were staying at an AirBnB when we noticed a small leak in the kitchen. We alerted the property manager and they got in contact with Roto-Rooter. Michael and Christian were phenomenal, polite, and professional. In the end, a satisfying outcome was achieved for us, we only hope the same satisfaction is had by the property owner and manager.

Lucky me got surprised with a burst pipe (thanks to the cold weather) and they were here within hours. They were super friendly and affordable (considering it was a same day Saturday call). Highly recommend

I called about 3:15pm because I had a toilet clog that we were unable to resolve on our own. We had plunged & augered to no avail. Our technician Matt arrived in just over an hour.
After attempting to clear the clog through the toilet, it was believed that the obstruction was beyond the toilet, so the toilet was removed & drain was determined to be clear from that point. He then ran his camera through the toilet & discovered a very hard bit of “material” still stuck inside the toilet. Our bathroom is tiny, so not having much room to work, he took the toilet outside & was finally able to clear the obstruction.
The toilet was then reset & is now flushing perfectly.

I came home after work to a flooded basement. (Saturday evening) and needed a emergency service call. Roto Rooter was here in a little over an hour. The gentleman that came to help me was Marc. He was absolutely fantastic! He was friendly, knowledgeable, determined and extremely efficient. He spent hours working on the backed up drains and was successful!
